Important Information Regarding TSS II
Hi Everyone -

We have received many e-mails, and we thank you all for your kind words. Maggie and I have always taken our roles seriously, and we are proud of the atmosphere we have nurtured at TSS. Your letters have touched us deeply.

We have also received several e-mails from people expressing interest in taking over TSS; there are a few who are definite possibilities. We haven't answered any of the e-mails yet, but we will. If you are interested, please send us an e-mail. E-mail addys are in the previous post. It is likely that we will make our decision, then e-mail the others asking if they would be willing to help. It may be that whoever takes over TSS would prefer to have several others to be co-webmistresses, co-mods, or whatever else they decide to do. It will be up to them to decide how much help they want.

What we need to know from you, our TSS members, is this - are you going to support the new owner(s) in this endeavor? Are you going to continue donating to ensure the continuance of TSS? It costs $300 dollars a month to keep TSS on our dedicated server, and actually, it is a bit more than that because Paypal takes a small fee out of each donation. So, the new owner can decide how to do that. Maggie and I usually donated that part ourselves. Our three domain names cost $30.00 a year.

It may even be that the new owner decides to move TSS to another host, and perhaps do away with the DS. It is probable TSS could run on a shared server; we decided to bypass this because we thought the growth of TSS necessitated it, but it will be a decision the new owner will make. Maggie and I learned as we went, but neither of us ever learned much about web servers, how to fully utilize our DS, etc. It is a given that the new owner will be far more web savvy than us. It is also a given that for the first month, TSS would still be where we are now, so donations for November would need to cover it. A new donation page will be made when we know who is going to be the new owner.

We were going to create a poll to ascertain whether we had enough members willing to donate, but we want this to be confidential, so we are going to ask that you send an e-mail letting us know if you will be able donate, and how much. Please let us know if you can donate monthly, or sporadically, and if you already donate regularly and will continue doing so, please let us know this as well. Please also give us the amount you can donate if you will be doing so monthly. As we have already stated above, it may be that the sites are moved, reducing the cost substantially. However, we have to go with where TSS is hosted at this time. Please click on this to E-mail us.
