The "(/b)" is what you do when you're making your text look like this in order to stop doing it... Except it's actually < / b > (minus the spaces).

< b > text < / b > = text

I'd suggest reading the HTML tutorials on HTMLgoodies.com. It starts out by walking you through the easy text-formatting stuff like italics and bold. Essential Internet knowledge.

That's an HTML tag. (b) starts bold font, and (/b) ends it. Only instead of parentheses, you use < and >.

You might be joking, but in case you aren't: </b> turns off bold text on a web page.

It's HTML - the tag for ending bold text formatting.

*chuckles* Yeah, reminds me of my programing days in high school. I remember getting about 100-150 errors just for one missing item. The funniest was getting that many errors from a missing ;(I learned to program in C++ if you must know).

Or why their favorite 24-point medieval script font is not appreciated in a mailing list full of 12 point ASCII.

Ha!

There are so many people who need to learn that. I try to make a point of closing up my tags; it's just the clean way to code.
