Zenni Optical
1) When you order glasses from Zenni you don't need a prescription, right? Did anyone just simply order from there without being asked to verify a valid doctor prescription or such?
(I know my correct eye numbers, but I can't afford a prescription you know.)

2) Also, is there a no-prescription-requested contacts place anywhere?

Why do you want contacts without a prescription?

My vision improved, it was -4.5 -4.5, and I was wearing an old last pair with -3 -3.
I can't afford 60$ to get my eyes checked so I have an updated weaker prescription, and my last pear is really getting worn out. My current prescription is still -4.5 -4.5, and they won't lower it without a visit.

If your perscription used to be -3 and now it's -4.5, it got worse.

no, backwards,
it was -3 in 2006, got worse to -4.5 in 2007, now I'm healthier and my eyes shot back up to -3 and probably better.

If you got your eyes checked in 2007, you should be able to get glasses/contacts with that perscription.
Where I'm from, I can use a 2 year old perscription with no problem. After that, they want something more current.

Well I need glasses contacts with -3, not the -4.5's

BAH... I meant to say 2006. I'm guessing you got your eyes checked in the first few months of that year and can no longer use it as a 2-year old perscription...

Try contacting the optometrist you went to (assuming you know who it was), and sometimes they can fax/e-mail you a copy of the thing.

I don't know but I wish I did! It's annoying to have to pay for a yearly exam just to get my same prescription for contacts renewed when my eyesight hasn't changed in a few years (and I would go get it checked if it had!).

I don't know about them specifically, but when I worked in an optometry office, whenever patients ordered anything online, they were asked to provide an Rx, and then that Rx had to be verified with us before the order could be placed. If it was wrong, we had to fax the company back with the expiration date of the Rx and the patient wouldn't be able to get them. So like I said, I don't know about the specific company, but chances are that you'd have to have a valid and up-to-date Rx.

You'll need a prescription if you use Zennioptical.com. Also, be sure to have the distance between your pupils measured. They ask for that too. Any optometrist can do this. They can also do it at Wal-Mart/Sam's Club/Costco eyeglass stores for free.

I know all of that, but do I still need a valid prescription? Thanks for the tip on free checks at those.
