| My BPAL List |
[10 Jul 2012|07:28pm] |
|
Here's the list of the BPAL I have as of July 2009. I'll try to update this when I get new stuff, but I really can't promise anything. I didn't really put the accurate levels of oil in the imps and decants because it'd take forever, but I can easily let anyone know. And I'll try to do something about the order soon.

When you control no other creatures, sacrifice Emperor Crocodile.
... Apparently Emperor Crocodile is worthless without another creature to back it up. HMMM... sounds familiar.

I am officially employed again! And am vaguely excited about it. I'm just gonna be cashier-ing at McCaffrey's, which is this local family owned supermarket that we go to sometimes, but it's paying significantly more than Sesame did, and I don't expect I will be hating it! Plus I got a free coffee today before my interview cuz JOE STELLATO accidentally scheduled me and some other girl to come in and get some paperwork done at the same time, so I sat around a while beforehand. But anyway, the manager seems like a nice if somewhat out-there guy, and I know Ailene and such. I'm definitely over-qualified, shifts are short-ish, and it's def be more part-time than anything, but it's MONEY COMING IN from a place that has never left a bad taste in my mouth. And i already know I like doing this sort of task well enough from the past few years at BBW and Superfresh. So, yay me! And at this time, precisely, next week, I will be leaving for Baltimore with Marisa, Steve, Kuhns, and Dave! I am so so so excited for this trip...I think even the ride down will prove to be an exquisite experience of the always-to-be-expected insanity.
Went to the H-Mart today with Angelica and got some produce and scrumptious delicacies of the Asian persuasion. Also, I did, indeed, watch the pilot of Kings last night and...FABULOUS. Oh God, I am so sad to know that all I will be able to enjoy is the remainder of the first season. ETA: Haaaahaha, I just realized next weekend when I'm in Baltimore, it's also the weekend of Otakon. I WILL NEVER ESCAPE IT.

note to self: Stop balancing in arabesque near sharp corners.
note to self: Never, ever eat a whole bag of popcorn by yourself in 2 hours. You need to eat super health food for 3 years to get that out of your arteries.
A little hilarious, but mostly upsetting: Conan kills people?
One week, he joked about Michael Jackson/actress from Thriller, and Jackson died about 1 week later.
The same day Conan did an Ed McMahon memorial, Billy Mays was on the show. Five days later, Mays died.
The Ed/Billy show happened in between the Jackson joke and Jackson death.

God I wish my camera was working BECAUSE RITSUKA LOOKS HILARIOUS. His body was spewing fur like a fur factory so I had him shaved like a lion. He is trying his best to look dignified and failing miserably. Also, Chikane all the sudden doesn't recognize his bald ass self and won't let him get near her. Ahaha REVENGE IS SWEET.
Yesterday was both productive and full of delicious lazing around, if that makes any sense. I took a nap, spent a few hours watching tv/on the internet, but the apartment was getting filthy so I cleaned everything + made dinner.
OH AND THIS IS COOL, I went to Sonic earlier in the day and got a free sundae for being their 100th customer 8D It's not the first time that's happened to me at a store, either... I've been 1st customer at a Barnie's and got a free lb of coffee once, too. Why am I lucky at dumb shit and have terrible luck with everything important :( idk you guys, idk.
Have no idea what I'm doing this weekend so I'm posting a poll. Plz give me your best suggestions keeping my best interests in mind ok.
Poll #1427830
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All What should Shan do for weekend goodness? Most of these are things I haven't done in awhile that are free or low-cost (to Florida residents, anyway). Actually lol I thought of most of those just now.
Busy week next week too. I'm going to USF (finally) to tour the campus on Monday, Harry Potter is Tuesday night, I have an exam on Thursday, and my work is having a bowling party Saturday. Plus all the other usual stuff.
I'm starting to feel a lot better, anyway. Preparing for my move is still many months away.

Well, money, for one. Can't buy all that expensive Adobe software without cash, not to mention the new MacBook Pro I've had my eye on. Another is finishing school, which I intend to do (Three semesters left. Yayness.). And, I suppose landing the perfect job is going to be quite a challenge in its self. Everything else is gravy. :]

| Useful WordPress Plugins |
[10 Jul 2009|08:00am] |
|
I use a handful of plugins for this blog, and as I’m always on the lookout for more useful plugins to add/activate, I thought it’d be useful to come up with my own list of favorite WordPress plugins.
- Bird Feeder
Like many bloggers, I have a Twitter account. Bird Feeder publishes a tweet to my blog every time I publish a blog entry, which is a lot easier than doing it manually as I’d forget!
- JournalPress
There are quite a few crossposting plugins out there, but JournalPress is my favorite. It handles drafts and scheduled posts, and it can also crosspost simultaneously to more than one external journal site. I have mine set to crosspost to both my LiveJournal and Dreamwidth accounts.
- Random Redirect
This plugin is a “randomizer” of sorts for your blog entries. It’s very similar to StumbleUpon, for it allows visitors to “stumble” across random entries within your blog. After you activate the plugin, you simply need to add /?random at the end of your blog URL to view a random blog entry! To see it in action on my own blog, click here.
- Secure WordPress
No script is 100% secure, and WordPress is no exception to that. Secure WordPress makes a few small/minor changes to your WordPress installation to make it a little more secure against hackers.
- WP Super Cache
WP Super Cache quickens the speed of a WordPress installation. I’m not entirely sure how it works (something to do with generatic static HTML files, Apache, and easing database processing load), but it’s all explained on the plugin page. Recently, my host’s support team suggested for me to use WP Super Cache, and it’s worked wonderfully since I started using it.

I am quite bored, and my laptop is quite hot. So, anyway. I should most probably be doing that math take-home test right now since I'm actually understanding how to do math properly for once. I really wish I had a MacBook Pro. I've been dabbling in MS Paint lately, and I'd be a billion times more productive if I was using Photoshop on a shiny new Mac. Damn it. I do have an incredibly nice Mac Pro desktop, however, that's at my parent's house and far less portable. I really need to lug that thing over here. I've drawn three things in MS Paint so far, only one of which I've actually completed. I started a very happy Raichu, a portrait of Killface and I finished an ice cream cone pixel. Yep. I really need to finish the other two... They will be grand. I just ate some scrambled eggs. They were delicious. And rather fluffy. Thanks, milk. Now I really want something sweet. I think I might take a trip to the grocery for some fruit. Strawberries or grapes. Wow. Grapes is totally one letter away from being "rapes". I don't think I can ever look at grapes the same way again, and I'm not even sure why. *stares at LJ icon* 9_9 Oh, Kovou, how I want to SQUEEZE you...but alas, I cannot. For you are a fictional Disney character, and I am a lady. Le sigh.
I think I'm gonna go get some rapes, er, grapes.
