Free Lion King and Disney stuff! [28 Jun 2009|03:41pm] sunrise22 Hi all! I know, I'd most likely get more replies if I were able to post pictures.. :( However, I'm giving away some plastic Lion King figures! I love the movie, I have some plushies..but... I can't keep the figures. They're home right now is my glass cavnent on a shelf.. They're in exilent condition!! I have.. Simba Nala Scar Rafiki Zazu Timon Pumbaa I know you guys you want pics but I honestly can't give them to you.. I don't have a cam. However, I want them to go to good lion king homes!!! I'll even throw in the set of little Disney princess figures.. I think I have Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Cinderella, Aroya..*the girl from sleeping beauty* snow white, and Mulan.. What are your thoughts while watching The Lion King? [21 Jun 2009|04:12am] sunrise22 [ mood | nostalgic ] Hi all! My name's Tessa and I'm a huge lover/fan of The Lion king. I've actually just finished watching it and it's twenty to four in the morning where I'm located... But, I couldn't sleep so I thought to watch The Lion King movie. I haven't watched it in a long time; at least a year has gone by. So, when I turned it on I was prepared to sit back and enjoy. Enjoy I certainly did!!!!!! I still love this movie, can still quote from it, can know what scenes/songs are coming next... etc. etc. (I'm the same way with Pocahontas the Disney movie that came out after the Lion King...) but I digress... Anyways, I love the lion king! Just this simple movie took me back to a time when things were simpler, I could forget my crap for a little while and could get lost in a story, songs, characters and events that never lose there magic, sadness, music, love, friendship...etc. etc. You can NOT forget about the music of the lion king!!!! It's beautiful!!! (and yes, I do have the rhythm of the pride lands cd...*I should dig that out*) The creators of The Lion King are awesome!!! I've just forgotten how much...Seeing the movie makes me appreciate it all over again! The musical is my favorite play...but with out the movie we'd have no musical.. ( Some scenes that still got me even after all these years... ) So, what are your thoughts on The Lion King? Favorite scenes? Songs? Lines? Anything!!!! 4 comments|post comment

this has probably already been discussed long ago... [14 Jun 2009|11:55am] tvreflection [ mood | hungry ] but i was reading through some of the information on wikipedia about the lion king and came across the article about simba and nala's son, kopa: It is sometimes believed that Kopa is the cub at the end of the first film, which for the most part does not resemble Kiara. Most, if not all, book adaptations of the film say that it was a male. Disney has stated that the cub was, in fact, Kiara; however the fact that male and female lions were given a different color scheme in the films puts to question the original intended gender of the cub, who appeared to be male. Numerous fans theorise that Kopa ran away or was even killed by Zira, resulting in her previously unexplained exile, and in Simba's extreme over-protectiveness of Kiara. Although it does not explain why the other Outlanders were exiled as well. But it is most likely that the makers of the second film simply did not consider the book. the "six new adventures" article states that the books, where kopa is featured, aren't officially considered canon, but it sounds like a good explanation to me (i always hated the way kiara looked nothing like the cub at the end of the first movie). the only conflicting factor i can see is kovu. in the second movie, zira mentions that kovu was hand-chosen by scar to be the next king -- which would mean he was born before scar's death, before even kopa was born (she also says kovu was the last born before simba exiled the outlanders, which i imagine he did immediately after re-claiming pride rock, upon scar's death, but even if simba didn't exile them then, kovu was still born first). the gestation period for a lion is only about 3 months; how long did kopa live after he was born? in the image provided on wikipedia from "six new adventures" he looks to be the age simba was when he ran away from the pride lands after his death, which was only a few months old, right? i would think simba & nala would have waited a bit to have another cub, but even if they didn't and conceived kiara right away, that's still at least over half a year kovu has on kiara age-wise, yet they appear to be the same age. unless, like, zira had just become pregnant with kovu just before scar's death, and scar was like: "your second-born son is to be king" and he was born near the same time as kopa, but then he would still have some months on kiara. pretty sure "hand-chosen" means he was actually seen by scar, though, so even if that is kiara at the end of the first movie, kovu was still born well before her. i know this all wayyy old, but i was just watching the movies and reading up on wikipedia, and it got the gears rolling in my brain. what are your thoughts? 18 comments|post comment
