1. Who is your favorite author?
That's really hard to say. It's like asking me my favorite song; they all have qualities I dig, but which has the most of my favorites? And won't that change with my mood?
I'll have to say it's a tie between Spider Robinson, Lois McMaster Bujold, and Steven Brust.

2. What is your favorite book/series?
Um...probably the Vorkosigan Saga by Lois McMaster Bujold; those books rock. Then again, I'm a bit of a fan of the Taltos series by Steven Brust. Of course, the Callahan's Crosstime Saloon series by Spider Robinson kinna rules...
...are we seeing a pattern here?

3. Who is a book hero you most wish to be like?
Oh, my...um...that's a toughy. There's so many to choose from, yet almost all of them have some drawback or other, too.
Like...Ellie Quinn is awesome, but I could do without the face burning off part, yanno?

4. Who is a book character that you envy?
Oh, that's easy...any and all Stardancers from the Stardance/Starseed/Starmind books by Spider Robinson.

5. Which book do you wished you lived in?
Pfft...! Just see question 4.

1. Who is your favorite author?
Probably Sidney Sheldon. His books are fast paced and well plotted. He was also a genuinely nice character and even took the time to respond to a personal letter I had written him asking him to explain how he comes up with his characters.

2. What is your favorite book/series?
My favorites are fast reading mystery-thrillers, preferably Patterson's Cross series and Evanovich's Plum series. I do also love all of the old stuff: some Twain, Fitzgerald, Bronte, Thoreau, etc.

3. Who is a book hero you most wish to be like?
Stephanie Plum - she is hilarious.

4. Who is a book character that you envy?
I don't really envy any because each character is made to have certain foibles that I wouldn't necessarily want...

5. Which book do you wished you lived in?

The Princess Bride, now that would be fun.

1. Who is your favorite author? It changes, based on what I've read recently and what kind of mindset I find myself in. Some favorites that stick around for years across multiple readings include Hermann Hesse, Victor Hugo, William Shakespeare, and Natsume Soseki (yea Japanese lit . . . ) and I have a soft spot for childhood authors I loved like Beatrix Potter, Roald Dahl, Lois Lowry, and Madeleine L'Engle.

2. What is your favorite book/series? That's even harder! Come on! The list I have on my Favorite Books on Facebook includes: 1984, A Separate Peace, Atonement, Brave New World, Demien: The Story of Emil Sinclair's Youth, The Great Gatsby, Harry Potter series, Kokoro, Les Miserables, Lolita, Memoirs of a Geisha, Romeo and Juliet, Siddhartha, The Sorrows of Young Werther, Summer of My German Soldier, and Welcome to the World Baby Girl!

3. Who is a book hero you most wish to be like? Hmm . . . my favorite book heroes are my favorites because of their realistic and sometimes overwhelming flaws, but I personally would prefer to not have those flaws. I actually empathize/desire to be non-hero characters, usually of a teacher/guru nature-- the Dumbledore/Gandalf/Yoda types, you know, lol.

4. Who is a book character that you envy? I don't think there's ever been a character I've totally wanted to be. If I admire a character, I think about what I admire in them and try to bring it out myself-- but most of the time only pieces of characters are useful, because we're either too different or they, too, are flawed. However, I do envy characters' circumstances-- any character with supportive friends and family, a fulfilling love life and all dreams achieved by the end of the novel, for instance, lol.

5. Which book do you wished you lived in? Once again, I tend to read about books full of misery and strife but by no means desire my life to be this way. (It looks so much better in comparison!). I guess it would be fun to live in, say, the Harry Potter universe post-series-end, where things are like halfway-normal but also magical, but and there's not the threat of a dictator with plans for genetic cleansing . . . I suppose I would hope for any happy-ending novel's happy ending, but, honestly, I don't read a lot of those. Once again with the "I read this to make my life look better" theory, lol . . .

1. Who is your favorite author?
I never thought I'd be one of those girls.... but I really do think it's Jane Austen. Before I know it, I'll be buying Thomas Kincaide crap too.

2. What is your favorite book/series?
Jane Eyre is my favorite standalone book I think, with P&P a close second. As for series.... I would say Twilight but book 4 killed that one. I guess Harry Potter. Possibly Dune, but I've only read the first one so far. Oooh The Dark Tower. Yeah. So 3 way tie!

3. Who is a book hero you most wish to be like?
Jane Eyre, totally. She's wicked rad! Also Hermione Granger, cuz she's super smart and awesome.

4. Who is a book character that you envy?
Hmmm good one. Bridget Jones. (Note: the BOOK Bridge, not the movie one) Because her life is so exciting and zany and fun, but yet totally real and realistic. And her "weight problem" is that she weighs 124 pounds.

5. Which book do you wished you lived in?
Hmm, yeah. Go ahead and put me out to pasture. Pretty soon I will be officially intellectually dead. But... Pride and Prejudice. I know Darcy would be insufferable and stuffy and bigoted and misogynistic.... but man. Give me Pemberly ANY DAY.

4. Who is a book character that you envy?
Isn't this the same as the last question? I mean would I want to be someone if didn't envy them?

5. Which book do you wished you lived in?
Harry potter books. I love the escape and romanticism of magic and adventure. And the strong bond the characters have with each other.

1. Does it only have to be one favorite author? Can we squeeze in Terry Prachett, Patricia A. McKillip, and Robin Mckinley?

2. Favorite series has to be the Discworld series, of course. It has so much depth, is horribly snarky, and all around glorious in all ways.

3. I'd like to be like the sorceress Nyx Ro from Patricia A. McKillip's books: The Cygnet and the Firebird, and The Sorceress and the Cygnet.

4. I envy China Bayles, character of Susan Witting Albert, her freedom and her ability to choose and succeed in her chosen goals. And her contentment, her cooking and gardening abilities...

5. Living in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles, by Patricia C. Wrede, seems like it'd be awfully interesting. A place filled with fairy tale logic? How logical!
Alternately, living in Eats, Shoots & Leaves, by Lynn Truss, could be a hoot. Imagine: a snarky world of perfect punctuation.

4. Who is a book character that you envy? I think Robbie in Atonement, which is a bit weird...
5. Which book do you wished you lived in? The Shadow of the Lion
