1)My favorite AT THE MOMENT song (as in this is not my favorite song ever) is probably Fly Me To The Moon by Sinatra...I've been on a Frank kick lately

2)oldies 60's bands with tight harmonies (think Beach Boys, 4 seasons, etc.)

3)October Skies. I think it would be piano/ acousticy rock

4) "And when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, let it be."
(This is my favorite song of all time)

5)The Beatles. I've grown up listening to them and their music to me is like breathing. I could not possibly live without them

1. What is your favorite song right now? Why?
Probably "Samson" by Regina Spektor. It always makes me cry, I don't really know why. I love it.

2. What genre of music makes you the happiest?
80's and mid-90's rock and pop always makes me want to dance around like a lunatic! Especially boy band stuff, hahaha, guilty pleasure right there.

3. What would you name your band and what kind of music would you play?
Psh, I have no musical ability whatsoever. So I would not be in a band, but if my friends started one I would be the person they could play to and I would tell them if they sucked or not.

4. What is your favorite lyric of all time? Why?
Well, since I already mentioned it, Samson has some of my favorite lyrics in it:
"And history books forgot about us and the bible didn't mention us
And the bible didn't mention us, not even once"

"You are my sweetest downfall
I loved you first, I loved you first
Beneath the stars came fallin' on our heads
But they're just old light, they're just old light"

5. What band/artist could you never live without? Why?
I'm going to have to say Incubus. I love them.

1. What is your favorite song right now? Why?
Atmosphere "Guarantees" (it's on my myspace page) -- http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/a/atmosphere/guarantees.html

2. What genre of music makes you the happiest?
Electronica. I think it's most creative, impressive, and meaningful.

3. What would you name your band and what kind of music would you play?
If I was a dj, my name would be DJ Queue. That was the name I had in Second Life. I would play all sorts of music leaning toward electronica, though. I've always wanted to dj, just never really got into it. I bet I'd be good at it.

4. What is your favorite lyric of all time? Why?
Atmosphere, "Like Today" -- http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/atmosphere/liketoday.html
I also really like Soundgarden's lyrics to "Mind Riot" -- http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/s/soundgarden/mind_riot.html

5. What band/artist could you never live without? Why?
The Music (for their integrity)
Messiah J and the Expert
Lure
She Wants Revenge
Her Space Holiday
Boy Hits Car

David Archuletta's version of "Imagine"
2. What genre of music makes you the happiest?
Early 90's Seattle Grunge- that was MY emo, LOL!
3. What would you name your band and what kind of music would you play?
Meh...
4. What is your favorite lyric of all time? Why?

"I'd like to fly but my wings have been so denied"- Down in a Hole by Alice in Chains
5. What band/artist could you never live without? Why?
Alice in Chains. They got me through those ohsohard teenage years;) The first time I heard them I thought they were singing just for me (ugh, I hate when people say that, but it's true!)
Korn (before Head left- or, before they started to suck). Same deal, teenage years, blah blah blah.

1. What is your favorite song right now? Why?
Ooh, dat's a toughy; there are a lot of good candidates.
I'm probably going to have to go with "Fading Like A Flower" by Roxette, though; it's been my favorite for YEARS and while the other candidates are good, they don't quite have the power over me that this song does. I mean, Roxette is my favorite band (and I have the tattoo to prove it!) and has been for pushing two decades now, and that song is the best balance between their upbeat stuff and their more balady songs...and it does make me so very, very happy. :)
Also in the running, "Sleeping in My Car" by Roxette, "Only You" by Yaz (or possibly the Even In Blackouts cover).

2. What genre of music makes you the happiest?
Probably pop punk. It's fast paced and rhythmic, makes me want to smile and bop around my apartment, and it would probably piss off my parents. Best of all worlds. :)

3. What would you name your band and what kind of music would you play?
"Rule 34"; and, yeah, we'd probably be the pop punk equivalent of They Might Be Giants: fun, upbeat, and fucking weird.

4. What is your favorite lyric of all time? Why?
I have NO idea. Unless we're talkin' Weird Al here, lyrics are such a secondary concern for me; if the melody makes me happy, I won't notice the lyrics for AGES. (This has burned me once or twice when I've found myself listening to rabidly racist, pro-skinhead punk for several months before realizing it!)
But I guess I've got to go with: "Aperture Science/We do what we must because we can/For the good of all of us/Except the ones who are dead". ;)

5. What band/artist could you never live without? Why?
Well, obviously that's Roxette again. They can usually yank me out of any bad mood, and if I'm already a happy camper, well, they bring the closest I've ever come to religious experience, I guess, transcendent. I wrap them around me like a hug and everything's just...great.
I wish I could share that experience with people; most folks don't even know who Roxette IS until you start naming songs, then they're like, "What...? Those songs were all by the same people???" Makes me wanna smack 'em. Even more so when they express the opinion that Roxette was, you know, just this band from the early 90s, coupled with a shrug. No one quite GETS what this music does to me, and I really wish I could share it. You know...mind-probe me while I'm listening to 'em, then play it back for someone, let 'em feel what I feel, enjoy the music in the same manner I enjoy it, make 'em understand.
Ah, well...

1. What is your favorite song right now? Why?
I, Don Quixote sung by John Barrowman. Because it's a really fun song

2. What genre of music makes you the happiest?
Swing

3. What would you name your band and what kind of music would you play?
Musicals and not in a band.

4. What is your favorite lyric of all time? Why?
The lyrics to "Requiem for a Solider" sung by Amici Forever. Because it's a powerful song. It's the theme song to the HBO Band of Brothers

5. What band/artist could you never live without? Why?
Josh Groban. The name says it all.

1. What is your favorite song right now? Why?
for some reason I've been wandering around the house singing Burt Bacharach's "The Look of Love" in a kind of Bill Murray-esque lounge-singer sort of way - HEY!

2. What genre of music makes you the happiest?
So many!! Singer/songwriters, Big Band Jazz, torch singers, techno dance music, blues...

3. What would you name your band and what kind of music would you play?
My band would be the "Tin Roof Mary All-Stars" - we play outsider and visionary music inspired by the desert, small mammals, and the forest. I'm the lead caterwaller, and all members are TS, TG or various genderly bent. We wear a fetish-inspired uniform designed by Vivienne Westwood and at key points in the show, we all strip down to various states of undress and reveal vintage undergarments, and Yoko Ono occasionally sits in as a guest.

4. What is your favorite lyric of all time? Why?
My answer to this is it would have to be almost ANY Cole Porter lyric. How can you go wrong there?

5. What band/artist could you never live without? Why?
At the moment - Miss Brandi Carlile. It's a girl thing, you might not understand.

Put me in mind of a line from Tank Girl:

"What is that?"
"Sound like Cole Porter to me, sir."
[points a gun] "END IT!"

Best song of the movie was Joan Jett covering "Let's Do It" during the credits. :)

1. What is your favorite song right now? Why? Prisoner of Love by Utada Hikaru because it's such a emotional song that is very true in some people's cases.

2. What genre of music makes you the happiest? J-pop. It's just such a perky/happy music genre and some J-pop songs just send a shiver down my spine whenever I hear them which is a good thing.

3. What would you name your band and what kind of music would you play? Velveteen because it's a band from a story of mine and we'd play pop/punkish music because it's fun to jump around too.

4. What is your favorite lyric of all time? Why?
When you walk away
You don't hear me say please
Oh baby, don't go
Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight
It's hard to let it go

- Simple and Clean, Utada Hikaru

5. What band/artist could you never live without? Why? Utada Hikaru, of course! She has an amazing voice and such a gift for music. If she wasn't around I'd probably go crazy and I wish more people in the U.S. knew who she was.

1. What is your favorite song right now? Why?

"With Me Tonight" by The Used. I don't know why, it's been stuck in my head all day.

I need you, you don't need me
When you are low, I am not okay
I want you but will you stay with me today?

... I only just noticed that the title of the song says "Tonight," not "Today."

2. What genre of music makes you the happiest?

Guess.

3. What would you name your band and what kind of music would you play?

I keep thinking of great names. The last one was "Heavily Medicated." We would play a mismash of all kinds of stuff.

4. What is your favorite lyric of all time? Why?

Some kind of innocence is measured out in years
You don't know what it's like to listen to your fears

- The Beatles

5. What band/artist could you never live without? Why?

Hmm. I'd be very unhappy if you took my MCR discs, but all my favorite music is stored in my head so I can play it at will.

1. What is your favorite song right now? Why? Right now, and not as in all time? I don't know that I'm really obsessing over one individual song right now. My all-time favorite song is "Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis" by Ralph Vaughn Williams.

2. What genre of music makes you the happiest? Oldies and swing music. Also boy band music from when I was 11 or 12, for the nostalgia factor-- back then, everyone listened to the same stuff, and so when I'm with my age group and *NSync and Backstreet Boy songs come on we all still know the words, even though our music tastes have since become divisive.

3. What would you name your band and what kind of music would you play? I would like to call a band "That Guy" or "That One Band" and produce singles with titles such as "And So Much More!" so I can appear on every sold-on-TV collection in the entire universe :-P

4. What is your favorite lyric of all time? Why? Frankly my all-time favorite songs tend to be instrumental, since they speak directly to an emotion without adding the often narrowing context of words. A sad instrumental song can be sad about a breakup or sad about genuine grief, where a lyrical song will place a song in a context that may or may not necessarily fit, no matter what mood it gives.

5. What band/artist could you never live without? Why? I'm sure I could live without any of them individually, provided I never knew they existed in the first place. Knowing about them now and having to give them up however-- that would be really hard with any band I like. Hmm. I'm going to say Elton John, just because my family has had such an amusing relationship with his music, and riding in our car as a child would have been totally different if he had never existed.

Its up at my journal but you can be lazy & just read it here:
1. What is your favorite song right now? Why?
"All around me" by Flyleaf - just listen to the lyrics, seriously. they are intense and explain exactly how i feel right now.

2. What genre of music makes you the happiest?
Normally rock & hard rock ... sometimes dance.

3. What would you name your band and what kind of music would you play?
"Bucas" would be the name and we would definitely play rock. People don't care if you can't sing and carry a tone normally when it is rock. LOL!!

4. What is your favorite lyric of all time? Why?
"I can feel you all around me / thickening the air I'm breathing / Holding on to what I'm feeling / Savoring this heart that's healing" - because thats how I feel when I am with someone ... I can't breath and my heart finally begins to heal ...

5. What band/artist could you never live without? Why?
Godsmack - they rock. 'Nuff said. :P

1. What is your favorite song right now? Why?
"Don't Bring Me Down" by ELO. Actually just about anything by ELO. Must... Pry... Disc... From... Changer...

2. What genre of music makes you the happiest?
The kind of rock'n'roll that I grew up with. (Eighties stuff.)

3. What would you name your band and what kind of music would you play?
We'd be the Brian Billson Quartet (for the acronym) and we'd play whatever we darn well please.

4. What is your favorite lyric of all time? Why?
"No one knows what it's like to be the bad man, to be the sad man, behind blue eyes." Why? Because they don't.

5. What band/artist could you never live without? Why?
Probably Joy Division/New Order, because they've lasted the longest in my mental jukebox.

1. What is your favorite song right now? Why? The Instrumental - Lupe Fiasco

He just sits, and listens to the people in the boxes
Everything he hears he absorbs and adopts it
Anything not comin out the box he blocks it
See he loves to box and hope they never stop it

2. What genre of music makes you the happiest?: Completely ridiculous, intense soundtrack music. A la Thomas Newman

3. What would you name your band and what kind of music would you play? Christ. I dunno what the name would be, but we'd totally play folky, mountain, Old Crow Medicine Show music.

4. What is your favorite lyric of all time? Why? Of all time? No. Not of all time, I could never decide something like that. Currently it is, "Come and lay your bones on the alabaster stones/And be my ever lovin baby" from Didn't Leave Nobody But the Baby. How is that not an awesome lyric? Especially when sung by Gillian Welch, Alison Krauss and Emmylou Harris

5. What band/artist could you never live without? Why?: Bruce Springsteen. It doesn't matter what song it is, he always hits me so hard. He's a storyteller, and I find that so compelling. With Every Wish is so poignant and powerful.
