1. Did you vote in your most recent applicable election? (If you're not yet old enough, do you plan to vote in the future?)
Yes. I always vote whenever physically possible.
2. Have you ever protested or attended a march? Yes. The first time was a protest march when Ronald Reagan was in Houston in the early 1980s.
3. What political issue is the most important to you? All human rights.
4. Are you a member of a party in your country? If so, which? I consider myself an Independent and/or Libertarian. I most recently voted Democrat.
5. Do you ever plan to run for office? I am unable to run for office for several reasons, including all those nekkid internet pics of moi, and my felony convictions

1. Did you vote in your most recent applicable election? (If you're not yet old enough, do you plan to vote in the future?) No, I didn't. I probably won't vote in November either.
2. Have you ever protested or attended a march? No I have not.
3. What political issue is the most important to you? I don't follow politics, which is why I'm not voting.
4. Are you a member of a party in your country? If so, which? I'm not part of a party, I don't think I was even allowed to vote in the most recent election then.
5. Do you ever plan to run for office? Nope, too much responsibility.

1. Did you vote in your most recent applicable election? (If you're not yet old enough, do you plan to vote in the future?)
Yep. I think I've voted in every applicable election since I turned 18. I get the absentee ballots so I don't have to be arsed to wait in line at the polling station. It helps with my motivation. ;)

2. Have you ever protested or attended a march?
Back in high school I attended a very small one some fellow students had put together in front of city hall to protest U.S. dealings in the Middle East. Not the Iraq war, but the Afghanistan...conflict...thing. I'm not sure how we're "officially" classifying that now.

3. What political issue is the most important to you?
At the moment my pet cause is keeping ID out of public schools but I don't really have time to be more involved than to be a member of the choir that others preach to on this. Gay marriage is also pretty high up there, but I don't feel like there's as much imminent risk to that one. Oh, and reproductive rights. I'm a fan of those.

4. Are you a member of a party in your country? If so, which?
I'm registered Democrat, but my affiliation with them is a business relationship only.

5. Do you ever plan to run for office?
No, I have other fish to fry. Also, I'm pretty sure being a politician would make me miserable.

I'm not old enough, but I'll definitely be voting in November.
2. Have you ever protested or attended a march?
I have protested, yes.
3. What political issue is the most important to you?
There isn't a single one that I prioritize over the others. I think a lot of them are important & I can't focus on one without the others.
4. Are you a member of a party in your country? If so, which?
Well, I'm only 17. So, not technically, but my views align with the democrats more.
5. Do you ever plan to run for office?
Hahaha, no.

1. Did you vote in your most recent applicable election? (If you're not yet old enough, do you plan to vote in the future?)

I always vote. Especially in local politics, where I have the most say and make the most difference.

2. Have you ever protested or attended a march?

I've always found it silly to hold the signs and join marches. As most politicians ignore what is outside of their office. I have written to my state representatives and senators. Seems to get the best results when you join an organization and attend council meetings. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you want the respect and time of who you are trying to reach, follow their protocol and get your cause to their desk. Otherwise you're just holding silly signs looking like you have too much time on your hands.

3. What political issue is the most important to you?

Our Constitutional Rights, Seperation of Church and State, Trail Advocacy, Education, Infrastructure

4. Are you a member of a party in your country? If so, which?

I'm proud to be a registered Libertarian. We desperately need more options than the Elephant and the Donkey.

5. Do you ever plan to run for office?

I'd like to run for a small elected council office someday. Never anything beyond the neighborhood. I just couldn't stand living under the microscope.

1. Did you vote in your most recent applicable election? (If you're not yet old enough, do you plan to vote in the future?) Yes, and a fat lot of good it did.
2. Have you ever protested or attended a march? Nope.
3. What political issue is the most important to you? Just one? Can I say everything that the current federal, provincial and municipal governments fail at to cover my bases? This includes health care, public safety, transportation, keeping infrastructure safe and updated, lack of safety with public transit, education...
4. Are you a member of a party in your country? If so, which? No. I don't agree with any of the federal parties enough to give any of them money.
5. Do you ever plan to run for office? Probably not, since I really don't have the time or the energy. That and unless I want to start up my own political party, there's not a single party out there that is in tune with my political beliefs.

1. Did you vote in your most recent applicable election? (If you're not yet old enough, do you plan to vote in the future?)
I was not old enough back when Michigan had its first primary back in January but I will be if they do a revote in June. If that happens, I will totally vote.

2. Have you ever protested or attended a march?
No, and I'm really bummed about that too. It's one of my goals for the next few months.

3. What political issue is the most important to you?
Oy. That's like asking someone which one of their kids they like the best.

4. Are you a member of a party in your country? If so, which?
I didn't have to declare a party but I'm most certainly a Democrat.

5. Do you ever plan to run for office?
If Hillary doesn't win, I will resume my plan to become the first female rpesident. Otherwise, probably not. Unless I get really fed up... again.

Friday Five -- March 21, 2008

1. Did you vote in your most recent applicable election? (If you're not yet old enough, do you plan to vote in the future?)

Yes, I did, because voting is compulsory here, but even if it wasn't, I would still have voted. How can a government be truly representative of the people, if a large number of them don't bother to vote?

2. Have you ever protested or attended a march?

Yes, back in 2003 I joined a protest against the proposed war in Irag, not that it did any good since our loathsome PM of the time ignored what the majority of Australians were saying and went ahead and joined the US in their invasion anyway.

3. What political issue is the most important to you?

At the moment, I think public health, the environment, and public education are the most important and pressing issues that the government needs to address. After years of our Liberal government's lack of support for the public health and education systems, they badly need remedial work which I hope the Labor govt. will be able to give, and I dread to think how the environment is going to fare if drastic action isn't taken immediately.

4. Are you a member of a party in your country? If so, which?

No, but if I was the joining type I would be a member of the Greens. (We don't have to declare a party affiliation here as I understand people in the US do).

5. Do you ever plan to run for office?

No.

5. Do you ever plan to run for office?

1. Yes, I vote in all our elections.
2. Yes, in my first year of university. A protest to get the provincial government to lower tuition fees.
3. Education
4. No, but I consider myself a Liberal. However, they're not doing to brilliantly so I'm kinda got my toe in the Liberal puddle, while my entire body is in the NDP yard.
5. No. I ran for vice-president in junior high and I failed miserably. I think I would be too good running the city and some people may hate me for that.

Yes, and there's another one coming up in a few weeks (municipal, but still an election).

2. Have you ever protested or attended a march?
I've stood silently at a few pro-life rallies; other than that, the only marching I've done was in high school band.

3. What political issue is the most important to you?
Keeping a sustainable economy, with low energy prices a close second.

4. Are you a member of a party in your country? If so, which?
Republican since 1998.

5. Do you ever plan to run for office?
If I do, it will be something municipal (i.e. city commission).
