I think this Friday Five is a dud since for some people (like me) there are only two questions that can be answered, and the last three are left blank due to "if you are not". :(

1. Do you believe you can have more than one soulmate in life?
I'm not sure. At this point I'd sure as hell like to think so!

2. Are you with that soulmate now?
No. And I do consider him my soulmate in every sense of the word. Which is why I don't know if I'll be able to handle just being friends if we don't work back together (but its something we both want...)

3. If not, how long did your relationship with your soulmate last?
almost 9yrs

4. Do you still think about your soulmate, if you are not together?
Every day. He's still my best friend

5. IF you're not together, do you think your soulmate still thinks about you?
Bastard had better

I'm just not answering this; it all assumes that I believe in the concept of a soulmate, and I really don't. The very idea smacks very heavily of magic--divine or arcane; could be either one, really--and I'm a pretty strict believer in a mundane world. Oh, sure, I actually wish quite strongly it were otherwise, but if wishes were quarters I'd live in an arcade.
The best I can hope for is a kind of mutual compatibility with someone who doesn't have circumstances that preclude a relationship. But a soulmate implies several things:

A) That there's a soul in the first place
B) That souls can be complimentary
C) That certain souls were built to unite in that way
D) That destiny will bring soulmates together in a way and at a time when both parties are available and willing

I'm sorry, but I just don't buy it, so I can't answer this week's Friday Five. I used to believe in it--or, more to the point, hope it was real--before experience and experimentation taught me that there ain't no magic, there's no such thing as kismet, and soulmates exist only in the movies.

I believe in romantic soulmates and friendship soulmates. I think there can be people in your life that just have to be there.

Soulmates

1) Do you believe you can have more than one soulmate in life?

There are certainly a lot of close-calls and in-another-lifes out there. I came across one of each before I met my wife. Honestly, I could have done a few minor different, and spent my life with either. In doing something different, it wouldn't have come naturally and would have been forced.

There is only one soulmate though, and some people never meet their soulmate. Your experience with those close calls helps eliminate the doubt when you do find that special someone. It's something that you can only understand in retrospect.

2) Are you with that soulmate now?

Yes, been married for 2 years now, together for 7 years today.

3) If not, how long did your relationship with your soulmate last?

I only believe in one soulmate, but this question isn't entirely impossible. For those who can answer this question, I feel for you. It means you'll either have to settle for second best, or that you've had a seriously close call and need to be more optimistic of what the future could bring.

4) Do you still think about your soulmate, if you are not together?

Anytime wy wife is out I miss her.

5) If you're not together, do you think your soulmate still thinks about you?

I'm sure she thinks of me when I'm away.

Do you believe you can have more than one soulmate in life? Yes. Look at how many people fall in love again and remarry after being widowed

Are you with that soulmate now? I am with my soulmate now. He is the only one that I have ever believed to be my soulmate

If not, how long did your relationship with your soulmate last? We've been together for almost 5 years

Do you still think about your soulmate, if you are not together?

IF you're not together, do you think your soulmate still thinks about you?

I have to say, that I think the quality of the question sets lately has gone down. I know the mod seems to not care at all what the people have to say, so maybe I'll start writing my own questions (for myself) instead of coming here. Something like that anyway... because I'm really disappointed and they really are not at all as good as the old friday five (that no longer exists)

You've always got the option of suggesting questions to be used, as well.

And as for not seeming to care what people have to say, I do care. I'm also not the only mod that chooses the question sets each week.

I'm sorry that you think the question sets aren't as good as the original friday five. The only suggestion any of us as mods can make is to suggest the questions you'd like to see used here.

1. Do you believe you can have more than one soulmate in life?

Absolutely. It could be a close friend that you have a strong bond with, someone who has experienced many lifetimes with you, or divine helpers that you meet along the way. But I believe soulmates come in many forms and are kindred that you share deep connections with.

2. Are you with that soulmate now?

I am! And I consider to him to be a soulmate in every sense of the word. We've been friends for six years, in a relationship for almost three, but it feels like that I've known him for much longer. Elim is my best friend and I would do anything for him.

3. If not, how long did your relationship with your soulmate last?

Doesn't apply to me.

4. Do you still think about your soulmate, if you are not together?

All the time.

5. If you're not together, do you think your soulmate still thinks about you?

I hope so! I definitely think of him. :)

1. Do you believe you can have more than one soulmate in life?
Yes, because look how many people get married, divorced, and then get re-married again. I, myself, don’t believe I’ll ever have another soul mate but for other people it might be possible.

2. Are you with that soulmate now?
Yes, we’ve been together for over two years now.

3. If not, how long did your relationship with your soulmate last?
Look above. ^.^

4. Do you still think about your soulmate, if you are not together?
Well we’re still together but if you mean when we’re apart of course. I love her.

5. If you're not together, do you think your soulmate still thinks about you?
Yes. She tells me that all the time over the phone.

1. Do you believe you can have more than one soulmate in life?
I suppose. I don't believe that there is only one person in the world that you would be able to live out your life happily partnered with, if that counts.

2. Are you with that soulmate now?
No.

3. If not, how long did your relationship with your soulmate last?
So we're assuming that if you're not with your soulmate now, you obviously already tried (and failed) to have a relationship with them? That seems silly. What if you just hadn't met your soulmate yet? And anyway, if the relationship didn't last, I don't think you could legitimately consider the other person as compatible with you as a "soulmate".

4. Do you still think about your soulmate, if you are not together?
....Again, what's with all the assumptions? How can you "still think about" someone you never met? Sure, there are people from my past that I think about and occasionally wish I'd been able to date, but since I never dated them, there's no way to be sure that we were soulmates.

5. If you're not together, do you think your soulmate still thinks about you?

.....No.

I find this whole discussion fascinating because almost everyone has understood the concept of a soulmate to be sexual and romantic.

1. Do you believe you can have more than one soulmate in life?
2. Are you with that soulmate now?

I believe that you can have several soulmates or kindred spirits.

I have several in my life. One is my husband and the rest are friends. I suppose none are my one true soulmate in the sense that none of them in and of themselves mirror me or complete me, but between all of them I am blessed.

Questions 3-5 don't apply to me because they all appear to come from a Disney-fied view of a soulmate.

Soulmate does not necessarily equal sex/romantic relationship. I'm currently living with one of my soulmates and the thought of sex or a romantic relationship with her is tantamount to incest for us. We'd never consider it, but we're soulmates.

I don't believe that there's anyone out there that deeply connected to me, let alone multiples.

2. Are you with that soulmate now?
Seeing as I'm (forever) single, the answer's probably no.

3. If not, how long did your relationship with your soulmate last?

4. Do you still think about your soulmate, if you are not together?
No, I'm having enough trouble finding *a* mate, let alone the perfect one.

Come on guys, your best friends/close friends are soulmates!

1. Do you believe you can have more than one soulmate in life?
Yes! I have different kinds of soulmates. I think my best friends are my soulmates... Music soulmates, save the world soulmates, spiritual soulmates, humor soulmates... yes.

2. Are you with that soulmate now?
I'm with someone who I respect and admire and adore! He's not really my soulmate? I don't know if I could be with soulmates... But we get along really well and it's bonbon!

3. If not, how long did your relationship with your soulmate last?
It's been a few years. Uhhh... almost 3 years now? HOLY CRAAAAAP
As for everyone else, a few years to basically my entire life.

4. Do you still think about your soulmate, if you are not together?
I think about my soulmates a lot.

5. IF you're not together, do you think your soulmate still thinks about you?
I think so. But if they don't, it's fine. I'm fine with one-sided relationships... lol

These questions tag off the first one, so basically if you say no to the first one, you can't answer the rest. I think these questions would be more suited if they asked about ex-boyfriend/girlfriend or last serious relationship or something...
