1. What is your preferred trusted news source?
The BBC, CNN and http://news.google.com/.

2. What is a news source that you will never trust?
Fox News

3. What is the news topic during the last calendar year that you feel got the worst coverage?
The clean-up efforts and aftershocks of Katrina. And the fact that most of the administration sat on its fat, money-bloated ass and thumbed its nose at the people of New Orleans.

4. What news item do you feel got too much coverage in the last calendar year?
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Who gives a fuck?!

5. If you had complete control of your favored news source(s) (answer to question 1), what would you do with it that is not already being done?
I'd want to put more entertainment news that interested me, rather than bullshit about Britney or Brad and Angelina. Most likely, I'd have segments about the science world (i.e. Flores man and other cool new scientific discoveries) as well as environmental issues.

1. What is your preferred trusted news source? My Mom CNN.com
2. What is a news source that you will never trust? My Dad The Weekly World News
3. What is the news topic during the last calendar year that you feel got the worst coverage? Israel withdrawing from the Gaza Strip. I only managed to get bits and pieces of news about it and was constantly confused and looking for updates.
4. What news item do you feel got too much coverage in the last calendar year? Jennifer Wilbanks. That bride that ran away. Sheesh. WAY way WAY overblown.
5. If you had complete control of your favored news source(s) (answer to question 1), what would you do with it that is not already being done? Change their website so it doesn't crash my browser so often. They've got too many animated ads, too, I *hate* that on a reading-intensive site!

1. What is your preferred trusted news source?
Whoo boy. Being that I'm a journalist and have learned to be especially wary of what other media report, myself, and the papers where I've worked and built trust. I'd say I trust NPR the most for everything else. And that's what I listen to the most.
2. What is a news source that you will never trust?
National Enquirer/tabloid-type "news" publications. Or one-sided Web sites, at least before I check out what they're saying.
3. What is the news topic during the last calendar year that you feel got the worst coverage?
Possibly the war in Iraq; my understanding is that there's a lot more good going on there than the national media are reporting.
4. What news item do you feel got too much coverage in the last calendar year?
Michael Jackson. And pretty much every other celebrity "issue."
5. If you had complete control of your favored news source(s) (answer to question 1), what would you do with it that is not already being done?
Since it's a local affiliate, I'd put more local news on it. I'm a huge advocate of local/community news in all media. I know national/world issues are important, but so are our local communities, especially to those who live there.

1. What is your preferred trusted news source?
mix of CNN, BBC, blogs, etc...
2. What is a news source that you will never trust?
Any single source. I am a news whore, and I have come to realize that no one source can be really trusted. Usually I will try to read several sources before making a judgment.
3. What is the news topic during the last calendar year that you feel got the worst coverage? Non-western countries. I spent the summer working in Paris and Berlin, and I was impressed to see Asia and Africa got as much coverage as the US and Europe. Important stuff goes on all over the world.
4. What news item do you feel got too much coverage in the last calendar year? War in Iraq. I care about it, but I don't need to hear an in depth story every time one person dies. Thousands are dying from conflict everywhere, so I find it hard to get worked up if one US soldier gets shot.
5. If you had complete control of your favored news source(s) (answer to question 1), what would you do with it that is not already being done?
I hate when CNN puts US news on the International page. You have the US page for that, anything dealing with the US should go there. There are a zillion other countries out there, I'm sure they could find enough non-US news to fill up the one international page. Also, no ads...

2. What is a news source that you will never trust? the truth...nuff said
3. What is the news topic during the last calendar year that you feel got the worst coverage? not too sure, i haven't really been keeping up on the news and we get most stuff here anyways
4. What news item do you feel got too much coverage in the last calendar year? the war in iraq...
5. If you had complete control of your favored news source(s) (answer to question 1), what would you do with it that is not already being done?I would make the dominion post a morning/evening paper again... the dominion and the evening post... bring back the good old days, or something like that :p

my 2.5 cents worth

1. What is your preferred trusted news source?
For Canadian news or a Canadian perspective: CBC. (For American news: CNN.)

2. What is a news source that you will never trust?
I don't think I trust any news source completely.

3. What is the news topic during the last calendar year that you feel got the worst coverage?
Man, I'm blanking on this one... all I'm coming up with is the hurricane season. And the coverage itself wasn't bad - it was what they had to cover that made it the worst.

4. What news item do you feel got too much coverage in the last calendar year?
Any of the stories that follow "celebrities" personal lives in lurid detail.

5. If you had complete control of your favored news source(s) (answer to question 1), what would you do with it that is not already being done?
There isn't too much I would suggest for the CBC at this moment.

And that's my 2.5 cents worth (http://twopointfivecentsworth.blogspot.com)!
