1. What did you want to be when you grew up?
Teacher, cop (I was too short, and too chicken)

2. Did you follow through? If not, what happened?
No. I went through a whole lot of other options til I ended up a librarian. At 52, I'm still wondering what I want to be when I grow up. :)

3. Is your life turning out the way you thought it would when you were a kid?If not, is it better or worse?
It's different, but I can't judge better or worse. One's dreams are usually idealized.

4. Paradoxes aside, if you could time-travel back to when you were 10 years old, what would you tell your 10-year-old self?
Not to worry so much about being unpopular.

5. Do you think the child you were, would like the adult you've become?
I know she would, because I do.

1. What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a football player for the Tampa Bay Bucanneers or a teacher or a prosecutor and put the bad people away.

2. Did you follow through? If not, what happened?

No. I'm a girl, thus I can't play in the NFL. I don't want to teach little brats who don't give a shit about what I'm saying. I don't want to spend all those years in school just for a job that disillusions me further.

3. Is your life turning out the way you thought it would when you were a kid?If not, is it better or worse?

Worse. I thought I'd be cool. And I'm so obviously not.

4. Paradoxes aside, if you could time-travel back to when you were 10 years old, what would you tell your 10-year-old self?

I would tell myself that it was wrong to be angry at my mother for taking me away from my father and that my father was actually the one at fault so I shouldn't idealize the man anymore.

5. Do you think the child you were, would like the adult you've become?

Probably.

1. What did you want to be when you grew up? i think the first thing i figured out i wanted to do was be a bassoonist in the new york philharmonic (i never really had any idea until junior high)
2. Did you follow through? If not, what happened? pshhhhhh......yeah, right. i discovered it was way more work than i was willing to do.
3. Is your life turning out the way you thought it would when you were a kid? If not, is it better or worse? pretty much. as a kid, i just wanted to get the hell outta magnolia and experience real life.
4. Paradoxes aside, if you could time-travel back to when you were 10 years old, what would you tell your 10-year-old self? stop being such a pansy
5. Do you think the child you were, would like the adult you've become? probably, with very minor exceptions

1. What did you want to be when you grew up? an actress
2. Did you follow through? If not, what happened? no, I realized I sucked and I didn't even really like acting all that much
3. Is your life turning out the way you thought it would when you were a kid? If not, is it better or worse? nothing like I thought it would. Rutgers was the last place I thought I'd end up. My social life is far more pathetic than I thought it would be too.
4. Paradoxes aside, if you could time-travel back to when you were 10 years old, what would you tell your 10-year-old self? buy a cheap prom dress because you'll never wear it again. beware of strangers sending gifts. go to an allergist when you're like 14/15
5. Do you think the child you were, would like the adult you've become? I'd like that I'm thin now and I'm still a good little girl, but otherwise... no. I'd probably get really mad at myself and throw a fit.

1. What did you want to be when you grew up?

An author, like Stephen King.

2. Did you follow through? If not, what happened?

No. I became side tracked by stupid things.

3. Is your life turning out the way you thought it would when you were a kid?If not, is it better or worse?

It is not anything like I'd hoped or thought it would be as a kid. I wanted to be a published author, a big book geek.

It's not better or worse, it's different.

I'm trying to get my ass back into writing, on many levels, perhaps not Stephen King but writing all the same.

I am happy as a dad. I am defined by that, not by how I make money to pay the bills.

4. Paradoxes aside, if you could time-travel back to when you were 10 years old, what would you tell your 10-year-old self?

Try. Believe in yourself, anything is possible, no matter what anyone else says. You don't have to grow up this way.

5. Do you think the child you were, would like the adult you've become?

No. Not at all, I wanted to be more, in different ways and not such a victim.
