What's your favourite interview?
I hope it's okay to post this. Since the show's on hiatus and I'm on holiday, I've been taking advantage of TDS.com's immense clip archive. I started going through interviews, mostly 'cause I can listen to them while I'm doing other things, and I thought I'd share some of my favourites I've come across:

Denis Leary (comedian/actor) - Always hilarious. He and Jon have known each other for years and usually spend the majority of the interview taking the piss out of each other.

Jeff Garlin (comedian/actor) - Another old comedy buddy of Jon's. The 2007 interview in my favourite: Jeff decides to re-gift his Daily Show gift bag to Jon and they both mock Wikipedia.

Will Shortz (New York Times crossword editor) - Two crossword geeks in a room together. I rest my case. Also, Will brings along a personalised crossword for Jon to tackle.

Chris Matthews (MSNBC anchor) - A truly classic interview. Chris Matthews comes on the show to promote his book Life's a Campaign. Unfortunately for him, Jon has actually read it and proceeds to call him on his crap.

Marlee Matlin (actress) - This just cemented my love for Marlee. She and her translator gang up on Jon.

Eric Idle (comedian) - All three of his interviews are really fun and Jon's obviously a huge Python fan. The 2000 interview is worth it just to see Jon dancing around like a dork to Eric's performance of "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life".

Dave Gorman (comedian) - Partly my own love of Dave Gorman talking, but it always delights me to watch Dave tell his story of his quest to find other people called Dave Gorman, especially when combined with Jon's incredulous giggling.

Al Sharpton (who looks suspiciously like Stephen Colbert) - Always a classic.

So what about you guys? What are your favourite interviews of Jon's? Let's have 'em!

When Steve Carell comes on TDS I jump for joy. He has some of the best interviews. They always laugh and Steve is just hilarious.

"I do mooovies now, Jon."

LOVED Ricky Gervais' interview. I watched it on repeat about 3 times before it was deleted from my DVR.

I always enjoy Brian Williams' visits. There's not many people who are so well matched for him.

David Alan Grier: Funnier than I expected. David is in a crazy mood and hilarity ensues. He decides he wants Jon in the middle of the interview and literally chases him round the desk, Jon leaps straight over it.

Sacha Baron Cohen: Nice to see Sacha completely out of character, he's very charming.

Borat: Sacha as Borat. As crazy as ever.

Bill Bennet 1, Bill Bennet 2: Talking about gay marraige. I fell even harder for Jon after watching this a while back. Nails him, especially in part 2.

Liev Schreiber: He embarrases Jon by talking about how tight he held him when he rode on his motorcyle, it's cute.

Will Ferrell

Will Ferrell

Brian Williams: ♥ ♥ this one. I also like the one where Briwi insults TCR a lil bit and Jon gets all pissy. Plus the 2004 in which Jon makes hand gestures that get blurred out.

Dave Chappelle: I swear he's stoned in this, and it's just funny.

Billy Connolly: "Once I had a penis wrapped around my neck."

Lance Armstrong: Jon says "I'll fuck you up" at one point and when Lance stands up Jon just about wheels himself of the set, whole interview is funny.

Viggo Mortensen: Viggo shows himself to be a complete dork, LOTR talk. They play a recording of Colbert reciting everything he knows about Aragorn. "Four hour erection" comment is made in reference to Stephen.

Vince Vaughn: It's just funny, a ton of innuendo.

John Hodgman. The brilliance that is Hodgman is displayed for the first time on TDS. (The search engine needs some work, had to go to cc.com to find the link, which doesn't actually work and I know it used to.)

Jerry Seinfeld: Jon mispronounces a word and he rips him for it, they switch seats etc,<3 it.

They're the ones that come to mind, if I think of more I'll be sure to post.

Good, but not as good as the Miss Piggy interview. "Got a little frog in your throat?" It took me an hour to get that...

Yes, what? I can't find the 'search by date' thing. It's both annoying me and freaking me out. I need it!

I've been using Google instead - just search site:http://www.thedailyshow.com "July 7, 2008" (or whatever). It's not as handy, but it kinda works.

Oh, and I forgot to give mine:

http://www.spike.com/video/2801116/show/17676

I couldn't find it on the daily show website, but this works just fine.

This was before tina fey got a little pissy and this is also the same interview where we find that one of the correspondent alums was a lady's man. (she wouldn't say who)
