What's your favourite interview?
I hope it's okay to post this. Since the show's on hiatus and I'm on holiday, I've been taking advantage of TDS.com's immense clip archive. I started going through interviews, mostly 'cause I can listen to them while I'm doing other things, and I thought I'd share some of my favourites I've come across:
Denis Leary (comedian/actor) - Always hilarious. He and Jon have known each other for years and usually spend the majority of the interview taking the piss out of each other.
Jeff Garlin (comedian/actor) - Another old comedy buddy of Jon's. The 2007 interview in my favourite: Jeff decides to re-gift his Daily Show gift bag to Jon and they both mock Wikipedia.
Will Shortz (New York Times crossword editor) - Two crossword geeks in a room together. I rest my case. Also, Will brings along a personalised crossword for Jon to tackle.
Chris Matthews (MSNBC anchor) - A truly classic interview. Chris Matthews comes on the show to promote his book Life's a Campaign. Unfortunately for him, Jon has actually read it and proceeds to call him on his crap.
Marlee Matlin (actress) - This just cemented my love for Marlee. She and her translator gang up on Jon.
Eric Idle (comedian) - All three of his interviews are really fun and Jon's obviously a huge Python fan. The 2000 interview is worth it just to see Jon dancing around like a dork to Eric's performance of "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life".
Dave Gorman (comedian) - Partly my own love of Dave Gorman talking, but it always delights me to watch Dave tell his story of his quest to find other people called Dave Gorman, especially when combined with Jon's incredulous giggling.
Al Sharpton (who looks suspiciously like Stephen Colbert) - Always a classic.
So what about you guys? What are your favourite interviews of Jon's? Let's have 'em!
