Looking through this year's Emmy Nominations I was intrigued by TDS' two mentions in the Outstanding Short Form Picture Editing category.  Not because it'd be weird for the show to be recognized there, but because it made me wonder what was it about those two episodes that made it outstanding editing. So I went to the website and, sure enough, episodes 13098 and 13109 are the ones that brought us two certainly outstanding clips:  The News Better Run (introducingThe Best F@*#ng News Team Ever) and Barack Obama: He Completes Us (from the Dem Convention).

Posting here in case anyone else was curious about this...

Just stumbled upon this article where the TDS guest for Thursday night, Prof. Robert Glennon, is "prepped" for his interview.

Hi, all. I joined this community to ask Jon Stewart fans why one should like him.

For some time, I've been a fan of Colbert and Conan, so it always confuses me why I don't like Jon Stewart. After all, all three seem to be chummy with each other. I've tried to watch a few sporadic episodes, only once making it through to the end. I've only seen one interview with a guest. Though it was enjoyable, it left me confused. Something about him grates on my nerves. Colbert sometimes does, too, but not enough for me to not watch his show. Please help!

I hope big fans of his would be excellent at explaining Stewart's apparent greatness. If I don't become a fan of Stewart's, at least I'll know how he differs from my current comedic heroes.

As far as I know, it seems like he shouts most of the time and he uses too many poorly doctored pictures.

Your critiques are much appreciated!

I came across a website that takes your name (no more than 10 letters) and turns it into an anacronym for a cyborg version of you.

So I made one for Jon:

Cyborg Jon Stewart

If your interested in your own cyborg:

The Truth Smirks

Jon Stewart, host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show, speaks truth to power with silliness, outrage, and a whole lotta laughs. But is he a prophet?

Hey, if this isn't relevant enough, feel free to delete or whatever.

But. The Daily Show was an answer (question?) on tonight's episode of Jeopardy. The category was "I Lost on Jeopardy." I don't remember the exact question, but it mentioned David Javerbaum (who apparently was on Jeopardy's Teen Tournament in the 80's/90's) who went on to work at "this show with Jon Stewart."

Pretty cool!

So I've been playing a lot of this game since it came out, and I thought I'd share a Sim I made of Jon. He's a pretty fun Sim to play - somehow the combination of Friendly, Good Sense of Humor, and Neurotic make him just the funniest Sim I have. This is the first time I've attempted to match the features of a real person, so I'm sure other people will do much better in the future, but the game is new and no one had tried yet so I thought I would! So here we are:

Holy hell. Remember that journalist Jason Jones met in a restaurant with an interpreter? The one who said he worked for Newsweek and that the biggest problem with Iranian and American relations is misunderstanding? Per the Rachel Maddow  Show this evening, he was arrested on Saturday and has not been heard from since. Both Newsweek and Canada, where he holds dual citizenship along with Iran, have been calling for his release.

As of 10:45pm, the clip where she mentions this has not been posted, but the days’ clips usually show up around 11:15ish. Here’s the link to the Rachel Maddow Show.
