My bro was sending his old animation paper from college to be recycled so I thought I'd make use of it before it goes. This took sooo long to make the pieces and over an hour to assemble. The total pieces of paper used was around 1140 sheets of the animation paper.

Hey, I've probably posted about this before - but it was most likely a couple of years ago. There is a site where you can sell your handmade items. It's STRICTLY for handmade items only - so it's not like ebay where you can sell any piece of junk. Plus it is also waay cheaper than ebay as far as fees to list your items. Check it out!

Hello, everyone! ^_^

Hopefully we'll be able to get everything picked back up soon, as this community looks much more promising than many others that I've looked at. Anywho, I'm Jackalibis (jackalibis ), though this is my creativity/crafting journal. ^_~

I pretty much do it all. Crochet, knitting, altered books, scrapbooking, quilting (very badly...), altered clothing, costuming, doll making, writing, poetry, photography, LJ icons, web banners, colorbars, blah blah blah... Yeah, I could go on and on if I really wanted to. Anywho, as to who I am.

I'm 23, married, and mother of a four-year-old. I'm a stay-at-home mom for the time being, and enjoy a wide variety of hobbies from crafting to role-playing games to reading and writing. I fully intend on returning to school soon to get my English major, and may possibily take up the job offer at the local library once my son starts school next year.

I'm a member of Ravelry, Crochet Me, and Craftster, all of which you can find me there as Jackalibis. I've only recently starting connecting with other crafting communities online, so if I'm not very active on there yet, that's because I've been busy trying to build up stuff on another site. That's the trouble with having been without internet for the duration of the time that you had completely stopped crafting, and then you get the internet back and decide to start up again.

Right now, I'm crocheting an amigurimi Cthulhu (pattern here) for my hubby. I just finished the head last night, and after discovering that I had lost count of my stitches, had to rip what body I had already done and had to start over on that part. I'll get pictures of it up on my own journal soon and post a notice here, or you can find the pictures on Flickr (jackalibis) or Photobucket (wickedcreations_lj).

I'm also working on a crocheted afgan for my grandmother (who is making me a quilt at the same time *lol*) and knitting myself a pair of fingerless gloves. I haven't had the materials to do much other than yarn crafts at the moment (working from my stash), so other crafts aren't going to be very active for me at the moment, but when they become so, I'll keep it updated. ^_^

I admit, I haven't been on here in some time now, but I'm surprised that all activity just lapsed like that. Back when I was more active here, I saw all kinds of crafters posting.

Where did everyone go?

I'm planning on making a new purse. One with lots of pockets specially designed for what I carry, and layered - kind of like that leather carry-all purse that's advertised on TV. I'll post when I finish!

Anybody need any Class 66 bobbins?

I bought the wrong ones and don't have the receipt to take them back..

I'm planning to make cloth nappies and pads for May/June, when my baby is due, as well as sewing some baby blankets (I don't have a one yet!). I also have an old sheet I bought from the OpShop I'm hoping to make into a loose, comfy dress (one that I can wear now, and when no longer pregnant).

I've learned to drop stitches on purpose! Before when I would discover a mistake several rows down I would either rip it back, tink, or leave it alone and just live with it, but a few days ago it occurred to me that I could drop stitches instead. I'm so pleased with this new discovery! If only I could have figured this out earlier! It's so much less work to just drop stitches above the mistake, correct it, then pick the stitches back up. It's been saving me a tun of time and work.

Hey, has anybody seen http://www.ravelry.com/ ? I heard about it from a friend recently. It appears to be closed to new members right now as it's not ready, but you can add your name to a list of people to be emailed when it is ready.
