Corrs Petition

Greetings ;-)

I'm a moderator on Corrsonline.com and some of the members there starting talking about the Corrs releasing some of their earlier material.

See >here< for more information.

Anyway, it went on to the discussion of forming a petition for people to sign if they were interested in the Corrs releasing the earlier songs on an album of some sort.

So I started a discussion thread asking people for advice, and got some pretty positive feedback.

The petition has been formed now, and you can go HERE to sign it.

You don't need to be a registered member of any fan forums, but if you are, please spread the word, even if you don't think we have a shot.

It can't hurt to try ;-)

This Friday the Corrs are being honoured by the British Embassy in Dublin. They have been honoured with honourary MBE's. Basically they are honourary knights, and would have the title of Dame and Sir if they were citizens of the UK. Since they are not, they don't get the title, but I suppose they get some sort of plaque.
I think this is an amazing honour. To be honoured for their contribution to music and to numerous charitable causes.

All the Way Home DVD

I am so excited. According to the official website, the new DVD "All the way home" will be released in region 1 (Canada and the US) on Dec. 6. I am excited because previously it was only confirmed that the DVD was being released in Region 2 (Europe) and Japan, but there was no release date for Region 1. Someone even emailed warner music Canada and they said that there was a February release date scheduled, but that it was pushed back to a date "to be determined" I even went so far as to order a copy from amazon.co.uk...but now I will be able to buy it here in Canada, as an end of term present for myself!!!!!

Ok I will stop ranting now...but really this is exciting

With a new album out we thought it would be a good idea to collect fans letters about "Home" and send them all off to the band as a sort of scrapbook. As many of you probably know, we have collected messages for the band several times in the past, but this will be the first time we send a real book, previously we have sent collections in digital form. This book will be something they can actually keep.

Home album cover... ?

Sadly, there hasn't been much discussion and/or posting going on around here lately, so I thought I'd ask.... what does everyone think of the new album cover for Home?

Personally, I think it's gorgeous. I think it'll really blend with the album style. I'm glad they didn't go for just another shot of the four of them, because this album isn't just another Corrs album (although I'm making it sound as if they were terrible, being "just" another album, obviously that's not what I think.).

I am, on the other hand, terribly disappointed to learn both that it's not going to be released in the US (at least in the foreseeable future), and that that Corrs are no longer even technically signed to Atlantic-- only Atlantic UK. So all of us here in the US might as well get used to this. *sigh* It's going to be tragic if and when they don't release a Region 1 version of the DVD.

Release dates

I haven't seen this posted here yet.

We've got a flurry of activity coming from the band lately.

September 25th is the 10th anniversary (I can't remember if it's the anniversary of the European or American release of Forgiven, Not Forgotten), and on that date, their new album "Home" will be released.

October 31st will see the release of a new concert DVD, filmed in Geneva on the Borrowed Heaven tour. So far, only a Region 2 release has been announced. Those of us in Region one may see it almost immediately (as we did Live in London), or we may have to wait three years (as we did Landsdowne Road).

Also, Boys and Girl from County Clare has been released on Region 1 DVD, and stars Andrea -- it's very good (just watched it last night).

I suspect in the next month or so we'll see a flurry of activity here on the board. At least, I hope we do. *hint* =)

This Is Kinda A Random Question...

Hi everyone!!!!
This might be a random question, but has the Corrs recorded any Christmas Carols at all? I was just thinking about that because they are my favorite band of all time and I also love Christmas and now to think of it, it is perfectly Christmas In July time haha.
If anyone could tell me if they do, and if yes, where to find the files or if someone could send me them, that would be amazing!!!

For everyone who didn't get to see the Edinburgh gig last night, The Corrs were fantastic. They performed 2 songs:

Breathless: probably the best live performance of this song I have ever heard from them!!! it simply left me Breathless (sorry i couldn't resist). Though I think they should play something else at these gigs, the song is getting a little old, and over played (but that is just my opinion), especially since this was aimed at a a UK/Irish audience.
When the Stars Go Blue: They brought Bono on stage to perform this, who came out and presented Andrea with a yeallow rose. Again, another very stong performance, especially from Andrea. Vocally, she has improved beyond the amazing she already was!!! Also she and Bono danced, just like in 'Live in Dublin', except part of it was a little goofier than the previous performance.

The girls wore the same outfits they have been wearing during their previous gigs, and Jim joined them wearing all black. They looked very nice on stage. I perticularly love Sharon's dress!!! simply georgeous!!!
