theconsole is a place for dispatchers and call takers in emergency services to come together and share. While our friends and families love to hear our stories, often they don't understand why we laugh at some things and cry at others. Here, we all understand because we've all been there. We as dispatchers must develop a unique outlook on life in order to properly survive at our job. We're generally Type A personalities, we can multitask like mad, and stupid people drive us crazy. We either love or hate what we do, but sometimes both simultaneously.
Police, fire and medical dispatchers and call takers are all welcome to join us here! We hope to have a lively group with which we can share our joys, our sorrows, our best stories, and our methods for coping with this career we've chosen for ourselves.
