i had a busy busy day today, rock n' rib fest and all, but thanks to my new comic uploader, fridays comic was on time, even if i am not....its starts of a tad slow...but the next strip makes up for it, i think :)

ACK!!
why didn't anybody TELL me the comic hadn't updated when i was at the convention??? i uploaded the comics, but something went wrong - now i gotta fix it....so....very VERY sorry!!!
i had realized i hadn't done the lj comic thing here even this PAST friday and the NEXT friday was fast approaching!! so i went to grab the code to post it here and that's when i noticed that nothing has been updated since the 15th!!
now, it might have been a problem on MY end, not the uploader, maybe i forgot to add in the dates for the new comics i'd made ...
in the meantime - i want to post this amazing news! when i got back from the convention, i had an email from lulu.com (where i get the bards comics printed through) saying that my books were NOW available on AMAZON.COM (whee!)
upside - more possible exposure
downside - the markup on the books to cover amazon listing costs is...ick!!
if anyone is interested in picking up any books (like the new bards book 3!!) make sure to go to MY site so you can get it CHEAPER, since i'm linked in directly to lulu.
I've got a lot of work to do, so i hope to have the comics issue fixed by tomorrow morning.

This weeks comic - due to go up on the 25th, i only JUST now realized that i had inserted this comic into the original line up and forgot to upload it into the appropriate slot for the automatic uploader to be able to snag. *bangs head*
in other news - are any of you folks going to be at Anime Boston this year? i'll be there if anyone is interested :)
i've noticed this modest community is growing a bit and i'd once again like to encourage folks to post here if they'd like!

has been fixed. i got out of PT earlier then usual today, so i took the opportunity to fix the glitch. it had, in fact, NOTHING to do with the other comic i was trying to set up on my website (the dragonpressgraphics.com portion) as i thought it was because i was having an issue with it and the two sites are part of the same server/set up.
it was, after all, my own stupidity. i blame my intense tiredness of the last two days that made me forget that i had saved a back up copy of the old main page file to make sure that if i coudn't get the loader working the way i wanted it, i could go back to the way i had it. since, to avoid duplication errors, they were in two seperate folders, well...y'know what they say "outta sight, outta mind..."
Needless to say, since the uploader is working quite well, ive deleted the back up copy and this won't happen again. hope everyone has a good weekend!!!

Okay, i don' t know whats going on with the front page of the bards comic website - but the ARCHIVE is working. I believe the comic should update tomorrow since it did not update today (there were a few that were set for saturday instead of friday by accident).
anyway, i think i know WHEN the problem occurred - i was trying to use the same script in another portion of my website ad i think some wires got crossed when my script provider was helping me fix the issue of the comic just not showing itself.
the problem is i'm going to my PT apt, then straight to work then straight up north and won't have computer access till sunday, so i'll do my best to get it fixed then! sorry guys!!!

Happy Easter everyone! i was away on vacation and was NOWHERE near a capable computer for a WEEK around friday :-P so the comic was updated without my help (sorry, i'm still just so happy about this!!!) despite my inability to tell the world about it...

Okay, so new comic on friday without my help :-P
in other news, saturday my test copy of bards comic volume 3 came in the mail, but i was SUCH a slacker that i didn't check the mail till today!!
Anyway, so here is the link to the book:
Bards Book 3 for $9.97!
Theres only one thing i'd like you to know before you buy - volume three was taking SO long to come out and i've been restricted from using the computer, that i finally bit the bullet and just put the comics up as they had appeared originally - lineart only. Still - I think you'll enjoy it! No bonus comics this time around, but i did put some of the original character sketches inside to make up for it.
Hope you're finding this 'slice of life' bit amusing...but trust me, this isn't the whole of the new comic. Just keep reading, there IS a point to it....

Comic uploader is working fine. I have changed the front page so that it will also upload with the same comics at the same time as the rest of the archive, minus the list of previous comics that the archive will be providing. This is good because as of this moment, I'm under doctors orders to restrict the amount of computer time I use. I'm also under orders not to do any art. Hopefully, by the time I've run out of comics, the restriction will lift.
Despite this, there will be art uploading regularly with this new loader till about midmay. I hope people enjoy it...

Okay, so we're three 'comics' in to the new incarnation of the Bards Comic. I know that things have been slow. That's because I have been desperately trying to get a new comic engine up on the site. Sadly, the site can't support some of the stuff I wanted the engine to do...and I had a really difficult time understanding the javascript I was given to get it to do what I NEEDED it to do.
But well, here we are - its up, a little clunky in only one place I can see, but I think we can deal with that. the engine means that you will no longer have to wait on me to update the comic! I think it's a good trade off.
A few things of note - the index page is still operating off of the "latest.jpg" comic, and is operating separately from the Engine itself. (this is because there are people who are still accessing that image, like Marc, who is promoting the comic directly). THIS MEANS that it may not update on time, or at the same time as the rest of the system. I apologize in advance.
I'm still testing out this system, so I may change it to include the main page at a later point in time. But even if I do, the 'latest.jpg' will remain in the system for people such as Marc.
Lastly, my arm is feeling better, and I have a bunch of comics lined up. Todays comic is the last 'filler' piece we have for a while. Though I suppose that may be up for debate when the next few strips air. Please let me know what you're thinking as the comic rolls on!
Stay tuned for new characters to show up - with a note: While a lot of the characters here-in are based on real people, their adventures are, pretty obviously, all created in my head and impossible. Only a few strips reflect real events, and even those are subject to exaggeration. That being said, I have taken liberties with these characters, with permission, that allow the story to go on.

so, my arm is doing MUCH better, thank god!
one more 'filler' type piece planned before stuff gets underway again!
but yeah, i think i'm definitely going to be adding a new thing called "From the sketchbook page" etc etc. kinda like i used to have random "Moments in Bard history" (btw, not getting rid of those entirely either) cause i just think they are neat and i hope you all do too!
