Sketchbook Parts 3, 4, 5, 6
Hey everybody, I was real lazy this weekend. I still kept up with my drawing, I just thought I'd hold off on scanning and do it all at once. Still, this Baby Grind stuff has kept me drawing 6 days in a row, so that's definitely something.
September 21:

My obsession with Nancy and Sluggo continues. Also I try out the Goose Island logo, a lobster, and my first attempts at sword and sorcery style drawings since ... high school? I cut off the part at the top where I was writing down some euchre notes to myself.
September 22:

Drawn while Sara and I watched a Dr. Phil episode about people's shitty neighbors. I had a jot list for the most white trash-y things I heard spoken aloud. If only someone was waiting on their settlement check, it would have been damn near perfect.
September 23

That's Sara in her pajamas reading the Internet and standing. That's not Gandalf in the bottom corner -- it's your old pal Walt Whitman. Anyway, watch me experiment with gray brushpens a little.
September 24

This is the first time I've drawn with a straight up old-school pencil in a while. Mostly I use the non-photo-reproducible blue pencils you have to buy special and that have a pretty soft point. Anyway, this actually looks like some for-real sketches. More Nancy and Sluggo, some Ming the Merciless, some John Campbell and some men's adventure magazine cover.
