CHINO
So, I thought I'd mention that I'M FROM CHINO, and I really hate the way "The O.C" portrays it. It's actually a pretty decent city, incredibly boring, but nice. Every time I watch episodes where Ryan goes back to visit Chino I get really pissed off. I don't even recognize those areas! That's not even Chino, well except for the prison. But most of the time those scenes are shot in L.A, sometimes even Pomona! Anyways, I just thought I'd clear that up.

i saw something on the news once about people complaining about how it's portrayed. i don't know how they picked chino as the town where ryan was from but i'm sure there was some reasoning behind it.

I'm not angry about it or anything, I actually think it's hilarious because it's just so inaccurate!

I don't think movies or TV ever honestly portray cities and towns. And they change things for storyline convenience.

Like lets say, um, Detroit.

According to what I've seen in movies I should be dead... Because "If you step foot in D-town you die!"

But... uh, that's only certain parts... yeah

to answer your...it's not even filmed in Chino question.

For some reason if you film something outside of Los Angeles county you gotta pay the crew more so 90%(or more) of the show is filmed in LA.

It's the exact same as Orange County. (And the Real Orange County on MTV for that matter) What you see as Newport is oh say...... TWO PERCENT of Orange County. *Shrugs*

It's just tv...they're probably just trying to portray one extreme city to the other extreme city. That's probably why they make it look so "bad"
