The LJ Reboot is a chance for users all across LiveJournal to rethink, revamp, and revitalize their LiveJournal layouts — in other words, to completely reboot their designs. Modelled incredibly loosely on the CSS Reboot, the ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} the_lj_reboot provides a framework for amateur, novice, and advanced users alike to redesign their layouts with a tangible goal to work towards: an LJ-wide "reveal" of all the new designs on October 1, 2006. the_lj_reboot is a chance to think about designing all aspects of your layout, not just the ubiquitous header graphic.View previous Reboots here. | ||||||||
| » HOW DOES THIS WORK? | ||||||||
| Participants will work dilligently on their layouts over the months leading up to the next Reveal date, aided and abetted by the tips, tricks, and tutorials found in this community and other related LJ communities. In the week leading up to the "reveal" date, participants will provide the community maintainer with a screenshot of their finished design. On the date of the Reveal, participants will reveal their brand new layout on their LiveJournal with an entry detailing and explaining their design, and will include a link back to the_lj_reboot so that everyone can check out the rest of the Rebooted designs. [Designs made specifically for the Reboot should not be debuted before the Reveal date; you're welcome to use other new designs in the meantime, of course.] | ||||||||

The Reboot runs on a four month cycle, which results in three Reboots per year. The schedule is as follows:
