19th-Aug-2008 06:58 pm - [Nick] Vacation is over
nickwork
WHO: Nick Stokes
WHERE: Wooded area
WHEN: Wednesday, May 15th, after Breakfast
INVITED: Anyone who'd be out this way
STATUS: Incomplete

Well Nick wanted to get back to work, so here he is. After breakfast he stopped by his makeshift house to get his gear. He put on his CSI Jacket, grabbed his kit, and took up his pistol before heading out the door. His destination... the wooded area where the guy who stabbed Jon was seen running off to.

Nick got to the area and set his kit down, taking out the things he would need, including placing the camera around his neck. That done he began walking a grid pattern, searching for any clues as to where the man could have ended up. Anything that could conceivably be a clue is photographed and has a marker placed by it. This would be easier if Nick wasn't the only one here, but you do what you have to do.
19th-Aug-2008 02:23 pm - [Duo] Target Practice
default
Who: Duo Maxwell
When: Wednesday, May 15th, about 12:45 pm.
Where: Shooting Range
Invited: Anyone
Status: Incomplete

Cassanda? Nice girl, real pretty, older woman, Duo smirked as he pulled noise muteing ear muffs over his ears. Her image was fresh in memory, and on after thought, it would probably be healthy to mingle, meet new people? Been stuck in work mode for way too long. The young airman loaded a clip into his pistol, stepping up to the line. He took aim at the targets, fiering at the target. Woulda been great if they moved, work on that later.

The sharp sounds of gunshots rang in the air )
15th-Aug-2008 03:58 am - [Methos] Sticks and Sticks...
Sword by beeej
Who: Methos
Where: The Training Field
When: Wednesday, May 15th, Lunchtime
Invited: Mark, Aiyanna, anyone interested in staff and-or sword fighting
Status: Incomplete

After breakfast it was decided that beating on each other with sticks could wait until steps had been taken to see Mark get more clothes and a roof over his head. They'd gone to the tailor so he could see to Mark's having more clothes, and then they'd gone to Admin to find out what was available for roof options. That had taken a while as they got shuffled about, and people repeatedly questioned Mark about what sort of housing arrangements he'd like or be comfortable with. Finally, however, they were free to work out.

Methos went to the exercise yard... )
10th-Aug-2008 10:20 pm - As the Moon Rises
RP: Teyla Sepia
Who: Teyla
When: Wednesday, May 15, after sunset
Where: Tau Site, a day's march outside the settlement proper
Invited: Anyone
Status: Incomplete

The moon still had not reached its apex, and it hung low in the velvety black sky against a back drop of sparkling diamonds. The clouds were thick and ropey, drifting across the silvery half-orb and casting odd shadows upon the ground; sometimes obscuring it totally. Watch rotas had been decided, and four two-man tents encircled the entire encampment. They could have slept on the ground, but the possibility of rain - the air was heavy with it and in the distance darker clouds hovered.

Teyla sat outside of the tent that she would share that night with Ami Jackson. The archaeologist sat by lantern light, alternately reviewing her notes and scribbling in the margins of her notebook. It brought a smile to Teyla's face to see the archaoelogist at work. It reminded her of Atlantis, of home and of Rodney, though Teyla's absent teammate would have been muttering loudly under his breath, insulting everyone and abusing a laptop.

Legs folded, Teyla rested her hands on her knees and closed her eyes. She had agreed to a later watch, but was not quite ready to seek out sleep as of yet. Now was a good time to meditate and find her center and refocus. Tomorrow would be another long day, and perhaps a harrowing one as well.
8th-Aug-2008 11:47 pm - [O'Neill] Up, up and away
Jack geared up
Who: Jack O'Neill
When: Wednesday, May 15th, Noon
Where: Airforce Hangar
Invited: Sam Carter, Daniel Jackson, and anyone with clearance willing to make Jack late. ;)
Status: Incomplete

The puddlejumper was the center of attention for several hours before the general approached the hanger and moved through. The last minute bits of weld were placed, the last minute bits of programming was being checked, double checked, and with Lt. Colonel Carter present, triple checked.

Jack was still dressed in his dark blue BDUs, the black embroidered stars on his collar difficult to see... but there was no question of who he was as he entered the hanger. Pulling off his hat, then his glasses, those soldiers within snapped to attention, saluting quickly as he passed. He was looking past them, at the ship once more... that bit of Ancient technology that few people could actually turn the key much less fly.

"It's twelve o'clock... time to go!" He raised his voice such that it echoed in the bay. "Carter, we're checked out?" He paused, spun around slowly, scanning the room, "Daniel?"
6th-Aug-2008 10:31 pm - [Sam Carter] Prepping for launch...
Sam Carter - Chevron
Who: Sam Carter
When: May 15th, mid-morning-ish.
Where: Airforce Hangar
Invited: Jon O'Neill, anyone else that might have reason to help load Sam's UAV into the Jumper or another valid reason to be out that way... and the clearance to be allowed past the SFs on duty.
Status: Incomplete

"Easy," Sam cautioned, standing down beside the cylindrical grey-green tube that was the body of the single Ancient Puddle Jumper Gamma site possessed. "Just a little further... A little further..." The master technical sergeant aiding with the retro-fit watched her hand signals more than heard her voice, seated as he was at the controls of the hydraulic lift being used to support the makeshift launch structure his team was strapping to the Jumper's roof. "There. There, that's perfect." She held up her palm to indicate a stop. Machinery hummed and the last of the structure settled into place. Two grease-monkeys immediately swarmed up the sides of the craft to secure the final bolts and complete the final welds on the strut.

5th-Aug-2008 06:33 pm - [Duo]
content
Who: Duo Maxwell
When: Wednesday, May 15th, about 12 pm.
Where: The Quad
Invited: Anyone
Status: Incomplete

Procrastination was an art form, something Duo learned along time ago. It wasn't that he was lazy, just unmotivated to restart work after his lunch base. He'd been stuck in the auto shop all morning working on gas lines for a jeep. Finished that, and from there, assembly, but thinking about it, he wouldn't me missed for a while. He lay on the grass his head laying on his crossed arms. A sandwich wrapper crumpled next to him, crinkling in the slight wind.

2nd-Aug-2008 10:44 am - [DEXTER] COFFEE GOOD.
dexter_curious
Who: Dexter Morgan
When: Wednesday, May 15th, about 7:30 AM
Where: Mess Hall
Invited: Anyone
Status: Complete

Dexter sat inobtrusively in a corner, hands wrapped around his now-lukewarm cup of coffee. Due to the absence of certain other pastimes, he was currently indulging himself in his new hobby: people-watching.  The breakfast rush was slowly starting to filter out, as everyone went off to their respective tasks.  A quick glance at his watch - 7:30.  Enough time for maybe a little more, then.

1st-Aug-2008 08:49 pm - [Mark] Early morning
Marcus 1
Who: Marcus Cole
When: Wednesday, May 15th, about 8AM
Where: Medical Centre, MAIN settlement
Invited: Anybody
Status: Incomplete

It had been a fairly quiet night and for once Mark had slept well enough. It may have been an indication that his head wound was healing, or it may have been due to exhaustion from the exertions helping to evacuate Tau.

Who knows?

Mark settled the heavy robes on his frame, aware that he stood out, but aware that they brought comfort. He still retained the two other physical items, which he put in the places they'd been when he was found. They fitted, they weren't uncomfortable and neither were heavy. The Tau doctors had said he should take an SF and get them to take him to the main medical centre, so that they could test if his head wound was recovering. Apparently the equipment that was here on Gamma was far better.

And so, guided by an SF, he made his way to the medical centre, head bandaged, and sat in the waiting room with the basics of his doctors' notes in hand, waiting for a doctor to come and see him.
29th-Jul-2008 05:10 pm - [Jade] The Morning Dew
jade
Who: Jade Weston
When: Wednesday, May 15th, about 8AM
Where: Jade's tent, around the settlement
Invited: Anybody
Status: Incomplete

Jade came awake in the dim interior of the tent, blinking in the morning light which filtered through the canvas and, more strongly, through the joins and seams making up the tent's structure. It took her a moment to remember where she was.

Once she did, she regretted it )
27th-Jul-2008 04:59 pm - [Carter] Across the Event Horizon
Sam Carter - Chevron
Who: Sam Carter
When: Wednesday, May 15th, about 7am-ish.
Where: Gate Operations
Invited: Jack, Daniel, anybody on a gate team heading on the Tau mission; optionally senior colony administration.
Status: Incomplete

The briefing adjourned. What information that could be gleaned from the Sgt in charge of Tau's colonists and the other leaders had been assessed, so Sam had some idea of what to expect the MALP to send back via telemetry. But, the colonel knew full well that expectations weren't always met on the other side of the event horizon.

OOC: Post edited for description.
12th-Jul-2008 07:46 am - [Jade] A Meeting of Minds
jade
Who: Jade Weston
When: Wednesday, May 15th, about an hour after Stargate activation
Where: Refugee housing
Invited: Ami Jackson, anybody
Status: Complete

It was confusing to suddenly be among people again. Not the rag-tag bunch of survivors who'd managed to dial Tau's gate and stagger into the wormhole to emerge at the Gamma Site, face to face with the weapons of human guards. No, a whole thriving community of people. This place was different, bigger, more alive. It took Jade a while to stop feeling like her mental barriers were under attack. So little time it took to relax them and think you were keeping them strong.

21st-Jun-2008 09:42 am - Let's Be Brief(ed)
RP: Daniel in shades
Who: Daniel Jackson
When: Wednesday, May 15, approximately One hour after Stargate Activation
Where: General Jack O'Neill's office
Invited: O'Neill, Sam, Elizabeth, anyone and everyone on a 'gate team, medical personnel with updates
Status: Complete

The hour passed quickly. Daniel spent it in his office, going back over what little information they had about Tau site, PXQ-TY65, or [planet name] as the natives called it. There wasn't much: the culture and people were agricultural, and the planet itself had little to interest the Goa'uld, therefore it had never been a Goa'uld stronghold. Its one saving grace, and Daniel suspected the reason that the SGC and the Powers That Be had taken an interest in it at all had been its potential as a bread basket for earth, and later the other lifeboat sites.

The advantage that was now shattered, represented only by the rag-tag group of refugees who spilled through the stargate.

17th-Jun-2008 11:03 pm - [Aiyanna]
aiyanna3
Who: Aiyanna
Where: The Hospital Clinic
When: Wednesday, May 15, right after the stargate activation
Invited: Anyone
Status: Incomplete

Aiyanna led the group back to the clinic and stood sentry on the doorway. She immediately began seperating the refugees by their needs, though of course trying to keep family members together. She normally hated triage, but this wasn't that bad since no one seemed really serious. Some would probably have to stay overnight just to be certain they were okay but most looked like they could be released.

It was going to be one long night, that was all that Aiyanna could guarantee. She grabbed one of the nurses to send out a call to any available doctors or nurses to come in and help with the refugees. She wanted to get everyone settled as quickly as possible.

"Alright people, we want to make this as quick and painless as possible. If we keep organized we should be able to accomplish that." Aiyanna began distributing numbers to each of the refugees. They would be taken in order of greatest need first, but everyone would be seen.
13th-Jun-2008 10:22 pm - GAME EVENT: Stargate Activation
NPC Male
Who: Corporal Roger Fitzgerald
When: 2:14 a.m. on Wednsday, May 15
Where: The Stargate
Invited: All Play
Status: Incomplete

Rogers' digital watch switched from 2:12 to 2:13 as he watched. It was the middle of the night--and the middle of his goddamned shift. The sky was clear, the sky filled with stars in unfamiliar constellations. Crickets (or their local equivalent) buzzed all around him. The night was chill too and Roger was glad he'd worn a jacket.
