the royal "we"
Oh man. I was totally bad this weekend and didn't post on Sunday! There was an episode involving delayed flights and airport transit, but that's boring. What isn't boring: this week's post!
As always, comment if you take anything, preferably telling us what you think of the songs, and make us a layout, and send in applications, blah blah blah okay here's some tunes.

Think of them as a hetero Le Tigre channeling Freezepop on meth. Poppy melodies, catchy lyrics and a male/female double-vocalist attack make what could be a terribly, terribly cutesy experiment gone awry into a genuine dancefloor monster. The band features ex-members of Spacehog and Cibo Matto, which is coincidentally not a bad combination when describing how this band sounds. And I mean that in a good way. Not, you know, in that twee "birthday cake" song way.
Anyway, damned if I can't get "Nth Degree" out of my head for the past week. Please forgive me if you start chanting "M-O / M-O-R / M-O-R-N-I-N-G" under your breath all day without even thinking about it. The self-titled record is out August 30th.
Thanks to Fluxblog for "Nth Degree". Watch the video for "Jetsetter" here.
These tracks are from the scattershot but overall decent iTunes-only Remix EP #1, which collects the special-edition DVD-only Guero remixes and offers them for sale in a cheaper and slightly more useful format. Don't say I never gave you anything.

"Nth Degree"
/ "Jetsetter", MorningwoodDon't know much about these guys, other than that I'll be seeing them tomorrow with Abandoned Pools and the Dead '60s at the Old Brickhouse in Phoenix - assuming the Old Brickhouse still exists, which rumors on the various internets have stated otherwise!Think of them as a hetero Le Tigre channeling Freezepop on meth. "Broken Drum (Boards of Canada Remix)"
/ "Missing (Royksopp Remix)", BeckSelf-explanatory - and awesome. The "Broken Drum" remix is devoid of the usual BoC subtlety but still whips up a decent frenzy of awesomeness. The Royksopp remix reminds us all that, yes, they did produce Annie's "Heartbeat", and yes, we should worship them for it.These tracks are from the scattershot but overall decent iTunes-only Remix EP #1, which collects the special-edition DVD-only Guero remixes and offers them for sale in a cheaper and slightly more useful format.
