In October 2008 Cabaret Nocturne and Rivetting Promotions bring you the biggest gothic industrial international tour Australia has yet seen! Headlining are Sweden's darkwave pop kings Covenant, on their second trip to australia after their triumphant 2005 tour. Informed by industrial, new wave and electro, and having created timeless dancefloor hits for the last ten years or more, Covenant's elegaic dark pop has found fans from Australia to Alaska and everywhere in between. They have spent 2008 headlining festivals all over Europe and, with newest member Daniel Meyer (Haujobb) on stage with them, will treat Australian audiences to a brilliant live sonic and visual performance. Accompanying Covenant on this industrial-pop juggernaut are: Daniel Meyer live, playing from his Destroid and Haujobb back catalogue. Meyer's last visit to Australia for the Distorted festival was arguably the festival highlight, and this visit will delight eager fans awaiting his return. Also Germany's Diary of Dreams, who, after persistent fan demand, divert from their current European tour to bring their gothic-tinged electronic show to Australia for the first time, and finally Voices of Masada, Britain's beloved contribution to this electronic gothic pop showcase. DJ OZMOSIS: mixing oldschool with newschool. gothrock to hardcore ebm.
DJ LOBEBOY: mixing 90s industrial rock with newschool dancefloor classics
DJ GRAVEDIGGER: industrial rock, metal with just a touch of faceraping EBM
DJ OBLIVION: oldschool and dancefloor classics
DJ SPRECKENSTEIN: EBM, industrial and gothrock
DJ MANDRAX: industrialrock + hardcore ebm
DJ SIGIL: industrial!!
DJ MAGGOT: a touch of hardcore EBM, a nice chunk of dancefloor filling industrial
DJ JOLT: synthpop, gothrock and EBM
Basically this means you’ll be on the dancefloor the entire night!

Hey all,
Just wanted to let you know about a new community ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) gothcitymaps which aims to get people all over the world to create Google maps of their cities to serve as a valuable resource to any dark alternative types who visit those cities.
Currently we're looking for as many submitters as we can get (obviously one for every city on Earth :P). We are also going to be hopefully needing community moderators (perhaps one for each contributing country?), first preference will be given to map contributers.

Alot of people from Australia and other countries are in the process of joining up so if you are a band or promoter it will be a good way to get yourself know in this country.

the MKB alter ego (aka user, ultrasound) is a dj (t)errorist 'midi knob box', using his trusty laptop and pirated software has played live and dj sets at noise, experimental, dance, and art-wank events across the country and in europe remotely. MKB has rocked (glitched) alongside manhattan's dj olive, made funny video things happen to the hilltop hoods, and played the blues before curse ov dialect.
He quite often wears black.
Get there early for IDIOT LUST and MKB, and the normal fun and games and music to drink absinthe to will be on after those guys play.

MODIFIED START TIME, THIS COVEN ONLY
Due to circumstances beyond our control, Coven will now be starting at MIDNIGHT, that's right, midnight.
We will be running until 5am (or later) to make up for the lost time and the downstairs Duke front bar will be open with lights dimmed and goth/atmospheric music playing if people wish to turn up before midnight for a drink to start the night.
Changes to the DJ sets have been made to ensure that the night starts off with the required bang.
Please let everyone know.

What: The Return of THE COVEN

The Coven is back, this time with a shiny new venue, more promos than you can poke a stick at thanks to GUP and FIEND and a new format.
The Coven is Hobart's premier goth club and has been, since 2000, providing an open minded night of musical exploration through the goth, alternative, industrial and ebm genres.
After 18 months at Trout, we sadly had to say goodbye last month due to management changes at the venue, but now we are back with a shiny sparkly new venue. It has gone under a series of different names, such as La La Land and Eden, but Psy Lounge remains a true club space which we are very happy to move to. Psy Lounge is located above The Duke on the corner of Barrack and Macquarie Streets at the South Hobart end of the City, just look for the Boags Psy Lounge sign and the stairs!
The Coven will be running from 9pm until 3am, but never fear if that is not enough for you, because Psy Lounge will be running from 3am onwards until you can dance no more! Back are the 30 minute DJ sets for maximum variety! No more boring extended dancefloor clearers!
We are working on organising some sort of arrangement with the existing Psy Lounge memberships, which may mean those of you already with a Coven membership will have more reason to celebrate. Those without: come and sign up on the door. Coven membership entitles you to discounted entry and other offers (for example, last year we had discounted theatre tickets to selected shows).
