The Emmy Award-winning comedy series Arrested Development revolves around Michael Bluth, the 'normal' one in a family of crazies, who is forced to stay in Orange County and run the family real estate business after his father, George Bluth Sr., is sent to prison for shifty accounting practices.

While George Sr. spent the last year in the slammer discovering his newfound Judaism and recording inspirational tapes, Michael spent it picking up the pieces and trying to teach his offbeat family how to live without an endless expense account. All the while, Michael has also been trying to do right by his 14-year-old son, George Michael, an earnest kid who works diligently at the family’s frozen banana stand.

The Bluths are led by manipulative matriarch Lucille Bluth, a socialite who is as icy as her martinis. Then there’s the oldest son, Gob, a womanizer and struggling magician (sorry, 'illusionist') whose biggest trick will be to make a real job appear. The youngest brother is Buster, a neurotic professional grad student and glorified mama’s boy (he spent 11 months in the womb).

The Bluth siblings are rounded out by cause-obsessed sister Lindsay, who is married to the hapless Tobias, a doctor-turned-actor who might get more work if he wasn’t a self-proclaimed 'never-nude.' Lindsay and Tobias are the ultra-permissive parents of Maeby, a 14-year-old who loves finding unique ways to rebel against their overindulgence.

Community Rules

1) please place all spoilers (and longish entries) behind a cut. if you don't know how to do it, check here. we all love the show, but it's always nice to experience things for yourself. also please remember that alaska and hawaii are 4 and 5 hours behind eastern time. just because the show has aired in california doesn't mean everyone's seen it yet.

2) Missed the show and want a copy? There are plenty of places around the net for finding that sort of thing. The Livejournal Terms of Service specifically prohibits piracy, so please do not ask in the community for links to show downloads. Doing so will result in a warning and possible banning for repeat offenses. All entries with show download links will be deleted.

3) posting icons and pictures is fine. if you're posting more than three icons within an entry please place the other icons behind a cut. all pictures must be placed behind a cut. remember even in the time of high speed internet, some people are on dialup.

4) if you have a suggestion or question then we're all ears and will do our best to address your concerns. however, we would ask you all to keep in mind that we are not here to babysit nor will we allow livejournal to take over our personal lives. if your suggestion involves something that will take a great deal of time or effort than by all means, suggest ways to implement it!

5) please ask the moderators ([info]andbeloved and [info]etherpunk) if you wish to promote a bluth-related community. we respect that you love the show, but we want to keep the community free of constant promos, so please ask first.
