About:The Big Show (formerly Realm of the Muse) is a muse writing and roleplay community designed to give each writer an open and welcoming place to write their fandom and original characters in an atmosphere that is free and supportive. Whether you are the "serious writer" or you are a "casual player", The Big Show brings you the prompts and challenges to meet your individual needs.

~*PROMPTS AND CHALLENGES*~

1. New prompts and challenges will be posted WEEKLY, in the main community. You are responsible for tagging your entries with "tbs prompt" or have a memories place on your journal for entries to the community. Failure to post after a full month can and will lead to your muse's removal from the community WITHOUT WARNING. You are responsible for making sure that the mods can easily find the prompts your muse does. We are not here to chase people.

2. Roleplay prompts are included, and roleplay based on a prompt in the community can be used as participation.

3. You may use a graphic or drawing, postcard, whatever you like. Prompt responses are suggested at 150-250 words, but we believe in freedom, so more or less is fine. All graphic prompt responses, and any containing graphic sex, violence, language or spoilers MUST BE PUT BEHIND A CUT AND CLEARLY LABELED FOR CONTENT. Also, please place long posts behind a cut.

4. Content that violates the Terms of Service of Livejournal will be deleted and the poster banned if a serious offense. You are responsible for knowing the TOS.

~*CASTING REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES*~

1. The Big Show accepts muses from any fandom or genre. We accept original characters that are fandom aligned or not. We do not accept muses based on the writings from certain authors who are notoriously wanky about fanfiction, such as Anne Rice. There can only be one version of each character in the community, no matter what the source. The exception to that is when we have blended communities, and there may be duplicates. If one player drops their muse, then the other will be the sole version of that muse. The other exception is in the case of multiple muse journals, where a member is allowed to have four connected muses in the same journal for dabbling.

2. New characters introduced to a series that are one shot guest characters will be open for application the day after the episode airs in simultaneous date zones of broadcast. We will open the character up for three days of apps, then the mods will select the best and most complete application. Recurring characters on a series will not be open for applications until the second airing of an episode with them in it, and then the character will be open for applications for seven days, at which time the mods will select the best application. Please note that many factors can influence the mods decision, such as if you have the muse in a major prompt community, or if you have multiple major canon characters in the fandom, or if you have gotten a hot new character recently.

7. All muse journals MUST contain the following items:

a. The full and complete name of the muse, it's fandom and a bio of some kind.

b. A disclaimer for content belonging to another. "(Character) is from (source and name) and is owned by (producers, studio, writer). This journal is for roleplay and fic writing only, and I make no profit, nor intend no infringement of copyright." This is a good example. If you have an OC, you need to put a statement that this is your original work and it is owned by you.

c. If you will have adult content on your journal, then you need a warning on your user page telling minors to stay out. Protect yourself and do not engage in RP of a sexual or violent nature with a minor. If you are a minor, under 18, you must state this on every journal for every muse, to protect other writers.

d. A method for people to contact the writer. Either IM addy, email, personal journal or even a designated post link where people can ping you.

~*FEN, CONDUCT, RULES AND GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES*~

1. The fen community,[info]tbs_backstage , is the place for fangirling, informational posts, introductions, OOC comments and issues and general discussion. We require that members of TBS also join that community, so that you have the latest information.

2. It is required, by all members, that everyone in the community is to be treated with dignity and respect. Every player, every mod. Wank, drama whoring, godmodding, abuse, stalking, flaming, shit stirring and general asshattery will be dealt with immediately. You don't have to like everyone here, but you do have to treat everyone with courtesy. If you can't manage that, don't apply.

3. Only the mods can decide who can play certain muses. Anyone attempting to control the ability of anyone to apply for or play a muse will be banned.

4. You are to respect the privacy and rights of all other players. Do not engage in the following behaviors, or you will face banning:

a. Outing or exposing the identity of a writer.
b. Unauthorized use of passwords, no matter how obtained, of any muse, personal or community journal.
c. Attempting to undermine, control, regulate or manipulate how anyone plays their muses. This includes shipping, friends, storylines or plots. You mind your muses, and let other people play theirs as they see fit.
d. Spamming journals of the community or it's members.
e. Harassing a member for information.
f. Lying to the mods, or any member, about your status as a legal adult over the age of 18, for the purposes of doing adult RP or fics. Failure to clearly disclose on your muse journal that the writer is a minor is included in this.

5. Grievance Procedures

a. Go to that person, privately, and approach them with courtesy. "I" statements are very helpful, such as "I feel as though you were godmodding my muse when you...". Private, courteous communication will usually solve the problem.

b. Should that fail, email your mods at tbsmods [at] yahoo [dot] com. Be advised that if you bring us a problem to resolve, you are expected to respect our decision, even if it isn't one you like.

c. Do not go to Fandom Wank, BRPS or other wanking communities and post in a manner that exposes the community or any member or mod. This is a banning offense. You can freely voice your vents, but do not hold up this community or it's members to public trolling. This also includes wank in your private journals or muse journals that is open to anyone.

d. Leaving TBS is simple. Email the mods and give them the journal names, then disenroll. Flounce posts will be deleted without comment. We will hold your muse for 48 hours. If you change your mind, you can get them back, no questions asked. After that 48 hour period, the muse will be available to anyone. Also note that if you remove a muse, you cannot reapply for that same muse for two weeks, to discourage people going back and forth. Removing and adding muses involves work, so be very sure that you want to leave before you do.

The mods of this community reserve the right to reject any application, ban any person, delete any post or refuse any member, based upon their decisions and the evidence at hand. The decision of mods is final.
