walked around the washington monument and the tidal basin yesterday after work with eric & lauren. it was my first time seeing the WWII and FDR memorials. the FDR memorial is amazing. waterfall fountains and rough red granite with bronze statues and reliefs on columns and his quotes etched into the walls. and the quotes are really good quotes.

"The test of our progress is not whether we add to the abundance of those who have much. It is whether we provide enough to those who have little."

FDR quotes not in the memorial. )

Jews 'n Muzzies

Oh don't worry it's not just them, Christians also do it and even atheists nowadays. But the above two apparently have it as part of the religion. Xianity sorta does too since Jesus didn't directly say it was bad.

Fucking circumcision.

http://www.cirp.org/library/anatomy/garcia/

Readin' that got me thinkin, about how he explains the analogy to the eyelid for the eyeball, or the gum (presumably the lip?)

So I thought about starting my own religions where upon birth, you surgically amputate a baby's lips and eyelids.

Actually, this might be a bit extreme. You could have separate churches for each one. You don't want to frighten people off after all.

Hell, you could even do half of it. 'Church of the Bottom Jaw' 'Church of the Upper Jaw' 'Church of the Right Eye' 'Church of the Left Eye'. Just like Jews seem to love the glans so much they want to gawk at it all the time...

Honestly I just don't fucking get our society. You know no one would allow someone to give their babies breast implants right? That's just a fucking abhorrent idea. But at least that's fucking REVERSIBLE.

This isn't. It's amputation... like... I don't think people, especially women, fully comprehend what's been done to us here. Guys who whine about it tend to get called sissies, with other (whipped) guys going "hey dude I was circumcized and look I turned out fine". Those guys are basically asking me to sodomize them, because that's what I want to do when I hear bullshit like that.

Surviving trauma is something men can do. Maybe babies forget the pain, maybe men distract themselves from the absence they feel, whatever. Adapting does not excuse mutilating babies (or adults). This is beyond mutilation, but also sexual molestation. I don't care about the 'intent'. Whether you molest with intent for sex or not doesn't matter, and honestly, I really think Mohels and Doctors get some sick sort of thrill out of doing this.

It's probably like reenacting abuse. These guys had it done to them so they do it to others. Or in the case of uncircumcized doctors doing this, they may get a kick out of being one of those few whole guys out there who can still enjoy themselves.

I'll just past these on w/out comment

A group of 14- to 17-year-olds attending Texas Cheer Camp in Austin decided to see how many girls they could squeeze into the elevator around 6 p.m. Tuesday, campus police said. The elevator successfully descended from the fourth floor to the first, but the doors refused to open.

Yeah, that's President Bush.

last night

i dreamt about the meaning of life and what i need to do but duh, i forgot everything when i woke up. but i did have a dream that i was selling weed at a mall/airport in florida and it was this huge complicated heist scenario where basically all i needed to do was have confidence and stick to the plan. did so just fine, and there were definitely crocodile waters, silly tourists and old spanish style mission houses and sycamore trees with mosses. how cool! i want to check out the south east.

[info]flierkat

alright. i'm deciding on two distance learning courses to take through MC this semester (work should reimburse me if they're at all relevant). i'm thinking intro to business and personal finance, just because they're courses i should probably take at some point anyway, even if i don't have the greatest passion for business.

and hell, if they don't reimburse me it's only a couple hundred bucks.

*cracks an eye* good mornin'. kinda. *stretch* ugh.

my body is sore and my head isn't quite in the game yet.

*downs some water* here's to hoping that that helps. *downs some coffee*

we finally met for d&d last night after a several week hiatus. i thought matt was really trying to kill us off by sending that hydra after us. but hey, less than 15 hit points a head and two of our party actually had fire & acid attacks, so that we could kill it. yay, fatalistic heroism! but, i think i feel that way about everything matt sets us up against.

eric got home from vacation last night, bringing his wow friend to stay on our couch for the week. so today i'm going to try to do a whole bunch of errands that i couldn't do without the car. i bought some cushions for my chair yesterday. they didn't fit (who knew that 25 x 25 meant how long the fabric was instead of how wide/deep the cushions are). :( but i bought some pants that do. :)

Coil Conclusion

Well... as the 'venture was unplanned, I put it off a day... yet I still need to mention it. So I finished the series. Ironically enough, DB came out with 2, which I got. Maybe it'd be nice to see how they did it, or just to collect it. If they do it all the way through it will be another complete.

It is funny, but the choice Amasawa makes in the end reminds me a lot of the choice you make when you realize the truth in becoming an atheist... to flee from the collapsing dream of nothingness... it is funny how it took me so long to notice the similarities with Kingdom Hearts too...

Damned series made me cry... anime sometimes does that but not always, and this did it a lot. That annoyin' Densuke is too freakin' cute'n cool...

I hope I don't get angry when the noise comes back, because I want to stay enamored like this and loving the principles in this stuff. Beats a fuckin' bar'n date any day. People don't get this beauty.

But anyway... DB's other stuff is here so time for the regular reprieve. Not much of an ongoing plot in comparison I have to admit. This is more habit than enconsement. No wonder DB chose it even though it's but a season. Only one beginning all the way through save the finale. That's all it needs.

It's funny too about the smiley holes. They were there all the time yet you don't even have a clue about them until later. I do wish the bully friend was around more though. I have to wonder if possibly there could be a sequel? I wouldn't know... like what happened to the space...

where can i

study more about Marshall McLuhan......?

i keep on putting off finishing things... the end of twin peaks for instance. i dont want to know what windom earl will do or become, let alone the other characters! instead, i have devoted a time of my life recently to learn more about the creator of the show, director David Lynch. i am fascinated! i want to see all his films.

i heard that Motherless Brooklyn is scheduled to be made a film, starring ed norton. that would make my day, probably, to see it. i personally would love to do justice to Jonathan Lethem's first novel. it has aliens and psychadelic dreams!

right now, i am waiting on more episodes of Mad Men to finish downloading. this show is beautiful and sad. i can feel it being an important part of my life.

sun's coming out a little bit!
