Because it's never wise to annoy your medic

especially if your medic happens to be the teams interrogator. She just wouldn't leave me alone until I'd written this and so without further waffling from me I add another character who's name begins with S to the list:

Name: Shrike, Field name: Pain.

Type: Transformer.

Gender: Femme.

Eyes: Round deep purple.

Height: 20 feet.

Description:  Possible the only member of the Riders who could remotely be described as ‘easy on the optics’ Shriek is all sleek lines and rounded curves which only servers to exaggerate her delicate looking frame. Not having been designed with combat in mind her armour is lightweight and doesn’t completely cover all the struts in her arms and legs, there are also gaps in the plating around her hips and waist. To combat this each plate flare slightly up at the lower and vertical edges creating a small lip with the top of each plate curving down so that each plate slightly overhanging the one below it, this arrangement creates a cascade of waterfalls that shed fluid and protect the circuits underneath. Her paint scheme is a deep blood red with flecks of purple and black that lightens as it reaches the edges of each armour plate. The thing most people notice about her however are her round imperial purple optics, which sit deep in her face giving them a hooded look. Each member of the Hell Riders has an icon of a burning stylised transformer skeleton personalised to reflect some aspect of their name and or job, this icon is painted over the spark chamber in a paint that glows a disturbing glistening blue when electrical current is passed through it. Shrike’s icon is this skeleton leaning up against a caduceus (a symbol she took a shine too whilst working on a mixed biologic/mech colony world) who’s hands drip energon. As with all the other riders her faction symbol and mission marks are also painted in the same paint.

Personality: a master of physiological smoke and mirrors Shrike is possible the hardest Rider to pin down. As a dedicated medic, all be it one with a frosty bedside manner and vast reserves of clinical detachment, she’ll fight to the last transistor and second to save an injured college. Yet the same hands that heal a mech can also inflict appalling damage and excruciating agony in her other role as the Riders interrogation specialist. An advanced student of psychology when the war broke out she takes an unhealthy delight in running mental rings around her victims, and her team mates aren’t immune from this treatment either, her excuse is that she ‘keeping them on their flanges’ and she sticking with it.

Over the voorn she’s managed either to reconcile her two different jobs, or to compartmentalize the mid set required for each to such a degree that she is effectively two different femmes, the frosty, sarcastic medic who doesn’t know when to quit and the even colder, ruthless, interrogator who to all appearances take considerable pleasure in being very, very good at her job, currently the medic is the dominant personality. But which of these is the real Shrike or if somewhere in that delicate rounded head a third person lurks silently watching the world go by no one knows and none of the Riders are in any hurry to find out.

Likes: Either of her jobs well done, messing with everyone elses CPU(regardless of faction), the chance to be amongst Organic Life (sentient or otherwise),

Dislikes: Decepticons, people loitering in her med bay when they don't need to,  being used for target practise by the teams sniper.

Squicks (DO NOT WANT): Like the rest of the team she'll never feature highly in the cuddly person of the vorn list but other than that what ever she'll agree to is fine by me.

Other: Because of her past working on mixed life form worlds, she retains a deep interest in xeno-biology and xeno-medicine and is more comfortable around biological life than the rest of the Riders.

References: Waives collection of flow chart stencils around, these are the start and end of my artistic skills so however you want to interpret my description is fine by me.

If your protective gear is up to the heat here is [info]tyrrlin  depiction of Shrike and Racthet arguing

Transformer-specific Details: add this on if you're submitting a Transformer

Faction: Autobot.

Occupation: Medic & interrogator

Alternate Mode: TVR Sagris

Tools/Weapons: she carries neither ranged or close quarters weapons as she not really a combat unit, however on the rare occasions she does get embroiled in a fight she’s a dirty fighter who doesn’t hesitate to use her medical knowledge to do the most damage.  Her subspace and armour pockets are stuffed with medical and interrogation equipment, often they are the same tool, and as one or two rather overcharged Decepticons have discovered an ion welder in the interface port is agony! She can swap out the individual fingers of each hand for a large range of tools that are required for very fine work.

Preferred Generation: I original wrote her in G1 but if you think you can make her play in something else, please feel free.

History:  Sparked of creators who’d had enough of golden age Cybertron and had emigrated to a less developed mixed biological and mechanical colony Shrike grew up surrounded by fragile organic life, she studied both Cybertronian and biological medicine and practised for a couple of vorn before the war engulfed her world. As a medic and a femme Shrike was judged far too valuable to just terminate out of hand so she was compelled to work in the Decepticons repair bay fixing their wounded and the poor unfortunate slaves they worked to death mining the rich mineral wealth that their newest conquest had to offer. Watching the cruelties the Decepticons practised on the population of her native planet understandable hardened her to suffering, it may well be here that the suspected compartmentalization of her personalities began. One such ‘prisoner’ she found herself fixing was the Riders infiltration unit there to set up for a counter strike against the Decepticons, the thought that she could fight back sparked something in her CPU and she began to covertly work against the Decepticons, repairs would fail unexpectedly and systems that hadn’t been damaged would suddenly stop working. In the aftermath of a very messy campaign which devastated both sides Shrike found herself trapped in an underground bunker with the head of the mining operation, when the Autobots managed to dig her out five days later she was surrounded by the disassembled body of the Decepticon. Wanting revenge in any way she could get it Shrike returned to Cybertron and entered the special ops training program specialising in interrogation and battle field repairs. Irony, fate, karma call it what you will but on completion of her training she was assigned to the Hell Riders and hasn’t looked back since.

yeah v smexy car and it sounds even better! (I is a complete petrol head and I can't blame it on being a TF fan either, in fact it's probably the other way round)

The Riders are an OK bunch off duty but not the sort of bots you really want to meet on duty or in a dark alleyway, unless of course their your rescue party.

Shrike... I knew I recognised that name before I clicked... Sins of the Past!!!

And Tracer would just like to say that she's very glad Strike's an Autobot...

I wondered if anyone would recognize any of the Riders, they got tired of just lurking in notes on my laptop and in the back of my mind and decided to see what other people would make of them.

You'd better tell Tracer that although I listed them as Autobots they really inhabit a very grey area between factions, some days I think they'd fit in with the Decepticons more easily than the Autobots.
