Tuesday Tales - The Library is designed to be a read-only stories community; therefore, membership is open to those who want to write upon approval by a moderator. The purpose for approval is so that this community keeps an organized and clean-looking layout; however, a discussion section has been linked to this community where anyone can join without approval.
The TALK community which is linked to Tuesday Tales and located HERE is where we allow discussions, place comments, suggestions, ask questions or participate in activities. It is designed for people who like to read but do not care to write stories. It is also the place for Writers to communicate with each other or Readers to communicate with the writers and vice-versa. It is our lounge.
If you are interested in writing for Tuesday Tales, please post a story in your LJ and then state that interest in TUESDAY TALES TALK - THE LOUNGE. We will look at your story and check it for spelling, vocabulary, usage, grammar and clarity of ideas. You will be sent an invitation to join by one of the Moderators, if we like what we see.
The Moderators for both of these communities are:
RULES? There is one: DO NOT PLAGIARIZE!
GUIDELINES
Writers may submit their stories anytime on a Tuesday. Why on Tuesday? Because the community is called TUESDAY TALES and the one who came up with the idea is wacky. Blame it on
When posting your story, we recommend using the following format:
In the Subject line place: The Title of the Story
In the Body (top post) place: Classification (Sci-fi, Fantasy, Drama, Fiction, Non-Fiction)
Author commentation (optional)
Excerpt (optional)
None of the stories content, except the excerpt, should be placed on the initial top-post. The story itself should be placed behind the top post. Click on "Author's Placement" and place it as a response.
ACTIVITIES
1) The Round Robin
The Round Robin is a fun, experimental activity and an idea submitted by
The pen goes round and round until someone feels the story needs to end AND
Who knows how it will end or even if it will end!!!!!
ROUND ROBIN SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
a) When introducing a new character or setting, you must submit a character or locale specification (details to be
determined) in a separate posting following your main submission. This is done to help preserve continuity and
promote consistency.
b) Be consistent in terms of settings, naming conventions, etc. Don't take a story set in New York City and suddenly
have everything in a podunk town in Kansas or a story set in medieval France suddenly moves to 21st Century Mexico
without good reason.
c) Try not to invalidate a previous writer's work by saying "it was all a dream" or whatever. Be respectful of other
writers' efforts!
d) Submissions should still follow the general guidelines in terms of top posting
2) Polls
Occasionally, we may conduct an activity where READERS ONLY voice their favorite stories. We will then take the best stories and conduct a contest-like-poll where Readers can vote for one of the stories listed. If running this event meets success, we may do it more than occasionally.
