| Description: | Shearing down the fluff and educating the noobs as best we can. |
Welcome to the Teen Wicca community. This community is generally aimed at teenagers and younger adults (13~25, more or less) who follow Wiccan or other Pagan paths. Even if you don't follow either, feel free to join if you'd like to learn about our religion. Experience level and how long you've practiced don't carry much weight here - we all help to the best of our abilities, so join and check us out!
The community's moderator and admin is
aiobhan. If you have questions, comments, or problems, please comment on her personal journal or send her an email. The creator of Teen Wicca is
anowyn, who still pops up from time to time. If you can't reach Aiobhan, feel free to contact her.
All new members are asked to take the member poll.
Respect
• Respect one another. This includes peoples' age, opinions, background, personality, gender, religion, etc. Everyone is different.
• Personal attacks, assumptions, and arguments that have no logic/reason behind it need not be present.
• When in an argument over opposing viewpoints, think with your head, not with your heart. It saves a great deal of mess.
• If confronted with immature/silly behaviour, try to ignore that person or keep your dignity, rather than to stoop to their level.
- Unless, of course, both of you know you're just joking around with each other. If this is the case... "argue" away, these things can get pretty funny.
- If this behaviour towards you will not stop (and you aren't kidding around), please contact
• Remember the Golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Don't be a hypocrit.
• Please, try to avoid calling other people "fluffy."
• Disrespectful or downright offensive behaviour will NOT be tolerated in this community. You will be given a clear warning, and if the warning is ignored, you will be banned.
Posts
• If you want to post an advertisement for a website, LJ community or anything else, please email or leave a comment for
• For long posts, or large/graphic images, use the LJ-Cut feature, please. If you don't, you will be given a kind warning to do so. If it still isn't cut, a moderator will have to LJ-cut it for you. It's advised you do it yourself though, to save trouble.
• Keep on topic. If you accidentally slip up and post here when you meant to post elsewhere, please delete the entry ASAP, or a moderator will do so for you.
• Do not disallow comments, please. It takes away from the purpose of the community.
• DO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPS, & liek, dun rite lyke dis, oR tHiS, eItHeR. 1337 k4n 4150 b3 4nn0yin6. Please use whatever grammar skills you can muster. I don't mind if you don't capitalize proper nouns, and I don't mind if you capitalize everything as it were a book title. So long as it's legible, it's fine.
• Double posting: Check the second note of this rule. If you don't know how to delete posts, click on the link provided or a moderator will do so for you.
• It;s advised that you do not post quiz results. Your entry will be given 24 hour warning notice for the quiz results to be removed or the entry deleted by the author. After 24 hours of post time, the moderator will remove the post.
Miscellaneous
• I'm aware that people spell things differently, such as magic, magick, majik, etc. It's my opinion that it DOES NOT MATTER how you spell it, so long as you're not going out of your way to make it "unique". The words all mean the same thing, so arguments over the spelling is NOT necessary.
• "Witch" and "Wiccan" Are NOT to be used interchangeably. Wiccans are witches, and other Pagans are witches, but not all Pagans are Wiccan. A witch is someone who practices witchcraft, simply put. To read about the differences, please go to Wicca, For The Rest Of Us.
• At least once a week there is a discussion in one Pagan community or another about the true meaning of "fluffy". In order to spare us all from those debates, here is the best resource I could find on what a "fluffy" really is. Read, enjoy, and let's avoid those disputes, shall we? ;)
It's suggested that you tell us a bit about yourself when you join. If you're drawing blanks, however, here's a nice questionnaire you can fill out:
1. What shall we call you by?
2. How long have you been studying/practicing Wicca?
3. What brought you to the Wiccan path?
4. If you are dedicated to a Deity/Deities, whom do you honor?
5. What do you hope to give/recieve in this community?
6. What is the meaning of life? <~This one is for fun!
7. Anything else you'd like us to know?
