See, this is the reason we've shut the site down.

Reading this community, I still see an enormous amount of ingratitude. Taking the site for granted.

We don't OWE you this site.

And we don't OWE you an explanation for why we've taken it down.

We don't OWE you anything.

The site is here because we believe in it, and we love you. But we are human beings and we have lives and limits. You need to make this fun for us as well as for you. We can't be expected to put up with daily barrages of reported threads, harassing bmails, whining emails and instant messages without eventually growing weary of it.

Suffice to say - we've been pushed over our personal limits for the kind of melodrama, ego-bashing, name-calling, back-stabbing, finger-pointing, disrespectful, arrogant, self-righteous and overall misguided sense of entitlement that has been present on the boards in buckets lately.

The lack of respect that we, personally, have been shown is intolerable.

And no, I will not get into details.

And yes, it sucks that the respectful are punished along with the disrespectful, but that's the nature of the beast. It takes all kinds to make a community and we're not about to single anyone out for punishment or reward. If the community as a whole is suffering, the community as a whole must be dealt with accordingly.

The vibe has changed significantly over the last year. Claws are out. People are not thinking before they hit Post Reply. We've lost SEVERAL members openly over the last 2 months, and we've lost several more quietly. There's something wrong here.
