TDD-1 is a community devoted to the novel/anime/manga franchise, Full Metal Panic! Hijackings, bombs, bullets... Just part of the daily grind for average Japanese high school student Kaname Chidori after the mysterious Sousuke Sagara enters her life. Posing as a transfer student at Kaname's school, Sousuke is in fact a highly-trained mercenary with the secret organization MITHRIL. His mission is to guard Kaname, who is believed to be one of the "Whispered," a handful of individuals with innate knowlege of technology almost beyond human comprehension. Faster than you can say "shounen," Kaname and Sousuke find themselves in the middle of a war zone as several ruthless organizations try desperately to get their hands on the the Whispered girl. If you have a banner that is small enough not to mess our layout, that's great, but if it's any larger, you MUST put it behind an LJ-CUT. - Please post music downloads (e.g. YouSendIt links, material hosted on your own server) as 'Friends Only' to ensure community members access. - Fanfiction is more than welcome, but please include the following information: - Title Even if you're only posting a drabble, be sure to put the actual fic behind an LJ cut. - Fanart is also welcome, but place your work behind an LJ cut and provide a rating for its content. Risqué art is permitted, but if it's not worksafe (NWS), SAY SO. We may be lenient the first time you forget, but after that, no mercy. - Icons. We love icons. However, they must be (say it with me!) placed behind an LJ cut. Providing samples of your work and a summary of the chosen subjects is optional but will give your audience a better idea of what to expect. - Search the memories before asking a question. Chances are your question's already been answered. - Don't hesitate to ask your friendly neighborhood mods for help! |

Every two weeks the community will be given a theme to base their icons or drabbles around; this theme can really be anything _anysia_ or cultnirvana's sadistic minds can come up with. Members of the comm will then have a couple of days to design an icon/write a drabble that suits the theme.Rules - Each member can submit ONE drabble/TWO icons per contest. - Only official art, screenshots, etc. can be used for icons. No doujinshi/fanart/cosplay. - If a submitted icon/drabble is found to be the creation of someone else, you will be banned from future contests. - All icons must comply to LJ restrictions: 100x100 or less; 40kb or smaller; jpg/gif/png format. All drabbles much comply to our fanfiction rules. - Credit must be given for resources used (brushes, lyrics, bases and such). - You MUST be a comm member to take part as well as to vote. Anonymous submissions/votes will not be counted. How it All Works Every alternate Friday night, a post will be made by a moderator, informing the comm of what theme has been chosen. One week this contest will be for drabbles, and two weeks later for icons (this will be specified in the post). From then and until midnight GMT (7pm EST; 4pm PST) the following Friday, members can post their responses to the challenge. When it comes to Icon Contests, each member can post a maximum of two icons. Icons/drabbles should be posted as a comment under the theme announcement post. (If you need somewhere to host your icons, you can get a free account at Photobucket.) These comments will all be screened so as not to give anyone an unfair advantage. Once the contest time runs out, a moderator will make another post containing all the icons/drabbles in the running. This will be the first time the community at large will be able to see other people's work, and the icons/drabbles will be posted anonymously, for fairness. On this collected icon/drabble post, members of the community will be able to vote for their favourites (and as the moderators will know who created each icon/wrote each drabble, there will be no voting for yourself). These votes will be screened so as not to create bias or agitation between comm members (After voting concludes, these voting posts will be made public). Your vote should appear as follows: First = [drabble/icon number] A First vote counts as 3 points; Second counts as 2 points; and Third counts as 1 point. Voting will end at midnight GMT (7pm EST; 4pm PST) the following Wednesday. This gives members several days to make their vote count. On the following Friday (two weeks from the start of the contest), once the votes are tallied, the winners will be declared and over the next week or so, they will receive banner awards for their work.
