TCEP 16: Craig and Tad Against the World Crime League
Step right up, ladies and gentlemen! The time is drawing near for TCEP 16: Craig and Tad Against the World Crime League - now in it's 16th year of being the best 4 days of gaming, relaxation, and fun in the greater DC area! Who are we? Just a bunch o' people who get together and share good food, good times, and loads of GAMING! It's a very relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of space for people to bring their own games and find others willing to play them! On-Line Pre-Registration: Is back! Although the old web team was devoured by shoggoths last year, we have been able to retrieve their notes (don't ask how). The website is up and running at http://barkingmad.orgLARP: Well, we had one, but Life (tm) has found a way to sink it's hooks into the people running it, and so again, its being put on the back burner. We're in "negotiations" for another one. Information will be forthcoming if it happens. Games: In addition to our usual wide variety of events, we will be running the E. Gary Gygax/Dave Arneson Memorial Dungeon Crawl. As always, we'll have plenty of space for pick-up games! Saturday night will feature our 4th annual Charity Poker Tournament to benefit The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, The Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University, and The Mazzy Kaya Foundation. We'll also be having a non-gamers area for those who prefer their relaxation to be more of the craft variety. Hosts & hostesses will be announced....when I have their permission. ;-) Mix all of that in with the Friday night dinner ( Bait Sushi at Asahi, or meat at Outback), our famous ConSuite (complete with fresh bread) and you have four days of fun that are not to be missed! Here's the particulars: TCEP 16: Craig and Tad Against the World Crime League Sept. 4- Sept. 7, 2009 (Labor Day weekend) EARLY BIRD SPECIAL (Through July 31, 2009) $30 for the weekend either by Pre-reg or at the door for adults $15 for the weekend either by Pre-reg or at the door for youth (12-17) Under 12 admitted free with paid adult membership (Said adult to be responsible for the child) After July 31, 2009 and at the door: $40 for the weekend either by Pre-reg or at the door for adults $20 for the weekend either by Pre-reg or at the door for youth (12-17) Under 12 admitted free with paid adult membership (Said adult to be responsible for the child) Hotel Information: Holiday Inn Laurel West 15101 Sweitzer Lane, Laurel, MD 20707 Reserve by August 11 for group rate Group name: Barking MadGroup Rate: $105/night s/d/t/q occupancy Note: To ensure you receive our special group rate, call the hotel directly at (301) 776-5300, and ask for an in-house reservationLooking forward to seeing everyone there! Agricola?
Is anyone planning on bringing a copy of Agricola this weekend? It's getting fantastic reviews on BGG (in fact, it's currently their #1 ranked game), but I'd like to give it a try before laying down the $$ for it. Thanks. | | Thursday, August 21st, 2008 | 11:10 am [byronczimmer]

Baltimore Denizens
Are any Baltimore Denizens planning on coming down to TCEP this year? If so - I have someone who is interested in hooking a ride one or both directions, and I want to link people up. Please respond if you're in B'more, are planning on attending TCEP and have room in your car. | | Monday, August 4th, 2008 | 10:55 am [grayhawkfh]

TCEP 15 updates
Good morning, ladies and gentlemints! By now, the USPS should have been getting your mailings to you. Again, when you get it, drop a note to me (a response is fine) that you got it. Always good to know that the USPS hasn't unduly folded, spindled, and/or mutilated the stuff we send out. In other news, we have received official word from the creative folks at Mystic Station Designs that they will be attending TCEP 15! Games of Chivalry and Sorcery and Traveller Power Projection will be on tap! So what are you waiting for? Send in your registration! PDF versions of the flyer can be found here and here. All pertinent information can be found in this post. Looking forward to seeing everyone there! Current Mood: awake | | Tuesday, July 29th, 2008 | 10:14 am [grayhawkfh]

Mailing
Hey there, y'all! The mailing, albeit late, should be going out this evening. If you're on our mailing list, please pipe up to let me know that the USPS hasn't consigned all our stuff to the great recycling bin in the sky. Thanks! TCEP 15 information!!!
Hey folks, I promised information on TCEP 15 - and here it is! Still the best 4 days of gaming, relaxation, and fun in the greater DC area! Yep, we're running a bit behind this year, but I think that more than ever, we all need a weekend to relax and unwind! And so, here we are, ready to plunge tentacle-first into TCEP 15: The Elder Party! Unfortunately, we will *not* be able to offer online registration this year. And when we find out who sicced the Shoggoths on our web team, they will be dutifully flogged. In the meantime, our flier is available in .pdf format! The flier can be downloaded here! Please note the change in mailing address! Get 'em in as early as possible folks! Update! The flyer is also now available at the main site: http://www.barkingmad.org/tcep15/TCEP-15-flyer.pdfLARP: Well, we had one, but the evil gods of employment have decided to laugh evilly (what else) at us, and so that one is being put on the back burner. We're in "negotiations" for another one. Information will be forthcoming if it happens. Games: In addition to a number of Cthuloid and politically-themed events, we hope to have at least one "Old Skool" Dungeon crawl in memory of "The Grand Dungeon Master" himself, E. Gary Gygax. As always, we'll have plenty of space for pick-up games! Saturday night will feature our third annual Charity Poker Tournament to benefit The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, The Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University, and The Mazzy Kaya Foundation. We'll also be having a non-gamers area for those who prefer their relaxation to be more of the craft variety. Yes, TCEP 15 *IS* happening
Hi everyone, just a quick note to let everyone know that yes, we *WILL* be having TCEP 15 this year. Unfortunately, due to events beyond our control, it does not look like online registration will be happening this year. The flyer is just about done, and will have all necessary information. Because it's Monday morning, and I haven't had NEARLY enough coffee, I'm not going to try and post the details. But please, keep that time blocked out. We will be there, and we can't wait to see YOU there. TCEP 15: The Elder Party is ramping up to bring you the best 4 days in Relaxicons in the DC area! Hope to see you there! TCEP 15: The Elder Party
Yes, planning is underway for TCEP 15: The Elder Party (to be held, as usual, over Labor Day weekend) But as much as we have fun putting this convention on, it is only a success if you are having fun. And while a majority of our attendees are gamers, not everyone is. To address this concern, we're instituting a Non-Gamers/Gaming Widow track - events and activities for those who are less interested in gaming. But, to be honest, most of the staff are gamers. So we need some help. Take this short poll below to tell us what you would like to see in this track. And, if you have any thoughts on what sort of LARP or gaming event you would like to see, let us know about that as well! I thank you in advance for your input. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Laurel! Poll #1127974 What do *YOU* want to see at TCEP 15: The Elder Party?
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: AllWhat sort of events would you like to see in the Non-Gamers/Gaming Widow track? What sort of events would you like to see in the Gaming Track? What sort of LARP would you like to see? Current Mood: curious | | Sunday, September 2nd, 2007 | 9:31 am [aramintamd]

Less than 1 month until TCEP 14!
Wow, can you believe that it's less than 1 month until TCEP 14? I know I can't! And the panic has set in! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! But hey, it's all in the name of the best 4 days of gaming, relaxation, and fun in the greater DC area! While it may be true that the early bird special is over, you can still pre-register at our website http://barkingmad.org ! LARP: Sunday evening, those wildly creative people at Foam Brain Productions will be bringing us the sequel to the wildly successful LARP "The Last Voyage of the Mary Celeste"! Games: In addition to a number of pirate-themed events ( Pirates Cove from Days of Wonder, Cap'n Clever by Rio Grande Games, & The Scurvy Musketeers of the Spanish Main from Z-Man Games, among others), the uber-cool folks from Mystic Station Designs will be on hand to host some of their highly anticipated seminars and run some adventures set in their Living World of Alquennas! As always, we'll have plenty of space for pick-up games! Saturday night will feature our second annual Charity Poker Tournament to benefit The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, The Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University, and The Mazzy Kaya Foundation. Plus, I'm still in uber-secret negotiations to have another company represented, but that's a separate announcement... Mix all of that in with the Friday night dinner ( Bait Sushi at Asahi, or meat at Outback), our famous ConSuite (complete with fresh bread) and you have four days of fun that are not to be missed! Registration is LIVE!!!
Good evening all! TCEP 14 online registration is now live! Sorry to all for the lateness of it, but it has been a turbulent year for a number of our staff, and things are slightly out of whack. That said, head over to http://barkingmad.org to register! You can also make your hotel reservations at: Holiday Inn Laurel West15101 Sweitzer Lane Laurel, MD 20707 301-776-5300 Group Rate: $94/night, s/d/t/q occupancy. Group Name: Barking Mad NOTE: Please call the hotel directly, at the number above, or you won't get our special rate. Their online reservation system doesn't know us from Adam. Neither does the national reservation number. Rooms must be reserved by August 22 to assure the group rate. Finally, thanks to theimp79 for her heads up about the hotel. | | Monday, July 9th, 2007 | 2:25 pm [fuzzface00]

TCEP 13: The aftermath
I'd like to take a moment to say "Thank you" to all of you who came out and helped make TCEP 13 such a success. Without all of you, this wouldn't happen. I hope that all had fun (I know we did), even with the unfortunate Saturday night fire alarm. Let's hope that this doesn't become a regular occurance. I'd like to also thank our wonderful staff, including Pumakat, Gorm, byronczimmer, principia_coh, Gooseman, userthe4sluke, stoooooooo & aramintamd. Please join us next year for TCEP 14: Tad & Craig are Gamers of the Carribean! Current Mood: cheerful |
