Hi fellow TBM fans

I just saw the birthday massacre gig in Toronto, and it was totally awesome even better than the previous 3 times that I saw them play.  Not sure if anyone was at the show, I was lucky enough to be at the very front and in the middle of the stage.  I think with TBM you get a totally different experience if you are near the front of the stage vs anywhere else in the venue because Chibi interact with every fan in the first 2 or 3 rows so frequently.  The interaction with the fans is so much more personal than I what I have experienced at any other concert, and I have been to quite few.  Chibi' ability to improvise and put on a  phenomenal  show always amazes me. This was the first time I seen O-EN interact with the crowd during the show. Pretty awesome!!  I'm not sure if it is because they are playing in front of a hometown crowd, but they seem to be even more high energy than  the 3 previous occasions I seen them play.  I'm not sure if I wrote about the previous shows I have attended on here before so I'll compare and contrast with this latest show.

The Minneapolis show in 2008 - it was at a bigger venue than the Mod Club, and there was a buffer zone between the front row and the stage so Chibi couldn't really interact much with the fans at the front. Otherwise it was an amazing show not even the annoying MSI fans who were constantly pushing from behind and throwing things on stage could ruin it for me.

The San Jose gig in 2007 - in my opinion the venue was too small for a six piece band, I think this limited their ability to move around and be their usual crazy selves.  Otherwise, It was like the Mod Club where the fans can go right to the edge of the stage, and I was at the front.  Chibi was her usual self interacting with the fans that's within her arm's reach.

Calgary - broken mind tour 2006 - the venue was very similar to the mod club in size minus a balcony floor.  I think the band have grown since then when they perform live.  They put on a wonderful show, chibi totally captivated my attention for the entire show. She didn't really interact with the crowd while on stage like she does now. I remembered Rainbow was always jumping around and being all crazy.

Each time a few of the guys stuck around after the show to talk to the fans.  I was totally caught off guard when Rhim and Chibi came up and talk to me afterward in Calgary.  Even now, it still blows me away as to how personable they are and how much time they spend interacting with their fans.  Every show that i go to I forget all the problems of the day that i am encountering while I watch them live.   I traveled to the last three TBM concerts, and it's worth every penny that i spent on those trips. :)

Anyone going to show mind giving me a ride? I really want to go, but will need a ride. I can pitch in for gas or pitch in for parking! Anything ^_^ I just need some friendly people who I can trust to take me to and back. I also wouldn't mind staying after the show to meet the band. So just message me and we can talk details. I'm pretty easy to get along with and wouldn't mind making some friends along the way!

Anybody in DC or Montgomery County going? Maybe wanna allow me to hitch a ride to and from? I'll split the cost of gas. I'm terrified of not being able to go. I've not missed a single DC/Bmore area show since 2004 and I'm planning on starting now.

I have a cell phone with a video kid ringtone for the last two years.  It's surprising how many strangers come up to me after they hear the ringtone with a variety of positive comments about how they like it, but they have no idea that it is the intro to video kid.  With the odd person that I tell them (usually I know them) it is a song from the birthday massacre, and they get all horrified.  I persume it has something to do with the fact the name has the word 'massacre' in it, and it is amazing how many people that I met can't get pass this fact. Pardon the clique, but I can't believe how many people judge a book by the cover.  Sucks to be them because they have no idea what they are missing.

Just a small bit of news about my Birthday Massacre DVD - it's now up for free on iTunes!

If you want to download it on iTunes instead of the site for some reason, you can do that here. Otherwise it's available at TBMChicago.

It's quickly become more downloaded than the Looking Glass EP, which is really exciting!

For those who don't have Myspace or Facebook (all 1 of you), here is a bulletin just posted from TBM.  Thus far, IMHO, 2009 is looking better and better.

 Hello Everyone,

We want to tell you that we will be releasing a "live" CD and DVD of our Hamburg Show from the Walking With Strangers tour of 2007. We have been working on the files for a few months and we feel confident that we can release a product that comes up to our standard and one that our fans will appreciate. The DVD will be 5.1 Sound for the best live effect. We have not decided whether to release them separately or as a package..... we will let you know when we know!

As well..... we have been working on a brand new record and we feel confident it will be ready in the Fall of 09. We have written most of the songs and we are in the process of recording. We feel that this record will be another step along our path and we hope that it is received with the same enthusiasm that our previous releases have been.

Because of all this work, we are not going be able to tour for the next few months but.... as with the last record, once we get out on the road we will probably stay there for the next couple of years.

We are only able to do these projects because of the people who have reached into their pockets and spent some of their hard earned money to hear us, see us or wear us. We thank all of you for your support and we are constantly aware that you are part of our what we do in a very important way. We know that people are discovering us every day because of the messages we receive, but our best way of getting the word out is through you, the people who already know us. We hope you will help us to reach more people this year and hopefully we can go to more places in promotion of these records.

We wish you all a great new year and keep checking for further updates.

about the issue I brought up in my last post : http://community.livejournal.com/tbm/188355.html?view=1174723#t1174723

we should get as many people as possible to send messages/emails and the like regarding this situation

maybe if they see that people were still actively visiting the site, they might consider putting it back up...I mean all they have to do is renew the domain name for goodness sakes
It would be an awful shame to lose that site

who knows...maybe they'd even think about updating it :)
however, honestly I would take it just as it was, so long as it's back up

P.S.
m3g4, I live in Florida...I hope that's not too far for you to send me a copy of that CD-ROM
if it is...then I guess I'll just have to wait for you to upload it on your webspace

Hey.

I was just wondering if anyone knows any of the guys' birthdays? I know it sounds ludicrous, but I'd like to, I don't know, maybe draw fanart for them or something like that only I can't send it them if I don't know. Kinda like a fanpresent :)

Anyway, I was also wondering if anyone has an MP3 file (or MP4, whichever) of Shiver and I Think We're Alone Now? It'd be really great if you could help me, thank you.

Alright, I'll explain like this:

I was listening to TBM's old(er) music from their (or your, since I'm not sure which to use) time as Imagica, and I really liked the songs, so I'm trying to hunt down copies of the CDs that they're on. Any advice on how to find those copies would really be appreciated.

Thanks.

I finally managed to finish my picture of Falcore :) Well, his hair still needs a little work, but for the most part it's done.

I hope you guys like it.

The image isn't that big, so it should be okay for dial-up users.
