Busy Day at work and I'm soooooooo tired.......
I'm Literally tired. OMG..not enough sleep last night and tonight I really need to throw myself back into early to bed mode. I've been going to bed too late at night. Not 5am late just late and I'm not getting enough sleep. Today was busy at work. I was on Register 10 all day and the day literally flew by. Which in a way was a good thing. Lines were long but we got them down the best way we could. My parents were in the store grocery shopping tonight. My Mom came over to say hello to me. That totally made my day!!!

I'm anxious to go shopping tomorrow. Arnot Mall is amazing. I haven't been in forever. I only have a few favorite malls:

Eastview Mall in Victor, NY.
Pyramid Mall in Ithaca, NY
Arnot Mall in Horseheads, NY*which technically is Elmira*
Carousel Mall in Syracuse, NY.

I'm anxious to spend money but not a ton of it either. LOL I'm looking for a few DVD's and a couple of New CD's. I'm going to try to take some pictures too while I'm out tomorrow. I'm eager to expand on my picture taking. Which is something I've been trying to do for months. Not so much for Myspace or for Facebook purposes I just like documenting things and times and places and important people. :0)

Then Tomorrow night and Saturday night I have to head to bed early. I have 9:30am shifts. That's early for me. Monday I get to sleep in which is good and I'm off Tuesday and Wednesday next week again. The days that I'm off go so fast anymore. I don't really have a lot of time to get things done that I need to.

Next month I'll start planning my vacation. I get to take that after my 2nd Anniversary which is November 10th. I'm looking forward to it. I'm debating whether or not to use it for my Highschool 10 yr Reunion which is next Summer or in October. I've pretty much have put in for my days off for next year. I'm a planner. Since I'm there pretty much ever day through the year except for my days off I figure I need that time to just relax.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a start on my Christmas Shopping as well. Even if it's 1 or 2 gifts. That's a start. :0)

I'm off to watch "Guys and Dolls" on DVD. Have a great Friday!

Dana Carvey Shows Jay Debate Impressions (10/8/08)
Dana Carvey can be hit-or-miss, but I enjoyed some of his stuff on The Tonight Show last night - especially his Brokaw and McCain impressions.

Tidbits

I love Clint Eastwood...I really do.  But he recently said that Angelina Jolie has "The most beautiful place on the planet".  It's obvious the guy needs glasses...or some senility pills.  I mean, she's not ugly...but most beautiful face on the planet???  Noooo.  That's like saying Leonardo DiCaprio is the best looking guy...I mean, he's nice looking...sure...but there's Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, and George Clooney who I think we can all agree are better looking than Leo.  Sure sure...beauty is in the eye of the beholder...but heroin junky, baby making, husband stealing women do not get to be the most beautiful women on the planet.  So take that Clint.  And I hope his wife smacked him good when he got home!   By the way, judging by the pic to the right, I don't think it's her face he's interested in.

Here's some stuff that's happening -

Hugh Heffner and his 3 girlfriends have broken up.  What???  You mean an 80 year old guy with 3 slutty 20-something girlfriends isn't working out!?  I'm shooooocked!

Beyonce is fiiiiiinally talking to us about her "secret" wedding.  Is it really a secret when people just don't care?  Guess what else I don't care about -- her talking about the original thing I didn't care about.  NEXT!

Kellie Pickler tells People magazine that she battled a severe year-long depression.  Hey, i can relate...just knowing that a ditzy blond like her will be richer and more successful than me sends me into a deep depression as well.

Thursday Night TV
Tonight is a big night for TV.  The economy sucks, people need to laugh and relax, so I suggest staying in and watching some TV tonight.  CBS has the long-awaited season premiere of CSI.  There's only a few William Petersen episodes left, so catch them while you can.  NBC has 2 hours of comedies including The Office, the new Molly Shannon show Kath & Kim, and a special Thursday night episode of SNL's "Weekend Update" - with all the political stuff going on, that should be pretty good. I wonder if Tina Fey will show up, yet again, as Governor Palin.  And ABC has goofy Ugly Betty and super sappy Grey's Anatomy.  Two new dramas air at 10pm, opposite ER - Rufus Sewell's Eleventh Hour and Harvey Keitel's Life on Mars.  My DVR is probably going to explode at 10pm.

TV is struggling...why not give some of these new shows and old stand-bys a chance?  Save your money and stay in!

Wednesday Night TV
Yay!  Pushing Daisies was much better this week than last week!  After last week's super-lame episode about the Bee Man, I was worried that PD had hit its peak and would be all downhill, but tonight's episode gave me hope that there's still life in this show about death.  If you haven't seen it, I highly encourage you to give it a chance.  It's whimsical and colorful and romantic and sweet.  And Lee Pace is a hottie!

I only caught a few minutes of America's Next Top Model - thankfully Tyra was not in any of the parts I saw.  Unfortunately, the models were.  I guess this week's photo shoot required the models to all portray different types of award-ceremony actresses.  Say what?  So one model was supposed to be the over-emotional award winner...okay, I get that.  But then they had the actress whose dress was being stepped on...and the actress who showed up in the same dress as someone else.  LAME!  They are obviously hurting for ideas on that show.  How about an episode where the models portray different types of ANTM viewers.  They can have the viewer who thinks Tyra is a major dumbshit, the viewer who can't believe she's wasting brain cells on this pathetic show, and the viewer who wishes all the models would kill each other with their 5 inch stillettos.

Tonight was also the first part of the Project Runway finale.  The judges had to decide which 3 of the remaining 4 people would go to Bryant Park.  Kenley is sooooooooo lucky they let her stay last week.  She should have been eliminated for her shitty personality.  But in tonight's episode, she ate a lot of humble pie and didn't talk smack to anyone.  Unfortunately, Jarrell (the only remaining guy) got the boot.  He was none too pleased either.  I thought for sure he was going to do a fancy gay "z" snap in Tim Gunn's face.  So it's all chicks in the finale...there's bad attitude my dad was a tugboat captain Kenley, mopey quiet bad haired Leanne, and bad mama jamma Korto.  I really don't care who wins....but I guess Leanne has been the nicest, so I guess she should win.  Sucks that there were no super-sassy crazy people on there this year.

Officially Back to Blogging!! :0)
It feels good to be back writing in my journal. After a few weeks of fixing old entries to making them private. It was a long process but it's done I can now begin to write again. Never fear if I have something to say that's not for eyes to read I'll write it in a Private Entry. I had to many comments in the past and such about my entries. At any rate. Work has been fantastic. Not sure if I wrote this but I had my Evaluation last week. I got my raise. I'll have my 2nd Anniversary on November 10. OMG..2 yrs who would have thought. It's been a great experience and I've met so many amazing people.

This week has been busy. I was off on Tuesday and I'm off again on Friday. My Mom and I are going Shopping with a Friend of ours to Elmira. Arnot Mall to be exact. I love that Mall!! I'm looking forward to just getting away for the day and not having to worry about things or think about things.

My Mom and I got invited to a Baby Shower on October 25. We are so excited to go. One of the girls that's a friend of mine at work is expecting a little girl in December. I'm anxious to go shopping!!!

Anyway I'm going to go and try to watch a DVD if I can stay awake. I had 5 hrs of sleep last night and all day I haven't felt really all that great. Plus I'm extremely congested. My Nose is annoying. :0(

Have a great Night!!!

Remember the reason that made us be

I got my Manics ticket in the mail last Monday. Wow, that was quick. It only took two business days. I got a huge envelope for one tiny ticket.

I also can't believe I didn't pimp my latest shopping acquisitions from the weekend.

Better late than never! )

Every generation has its one defining moment. We are yours. )

Kylie Minogue will also be in Hong Kong that same week, playing a night after the Manics. What about a surprise cameo on "Little Baby Nothing"? ;) Hah!

And I know I'm in good company when the coolest man in the world, Christian Bale, is also a Manics fan! <3 He literally says he "loves" them in this interview, back from the Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, right at 2:17. How cool is that? Just as cool is what he says that gets bleeped out just a few seconds after mentioning the Manics. Whee! I'm getting giddy imagining Christian Bale rocking out to "Faster" or even, say, "You Stole the Sun from My Heart". ^_^

Want: Another new blouse
Need: To pay my bills
Miss: Dylan McDermott (I know, I see the guy on reruns of The Practice every day, but...why doesn't he have any new projects?)
Love: The original demo for "Indian Summer", because it was set in a lower key, so the similarity to "A Design for Life" isn't obvious.
Hate: That I'm running out of iTunes credit across all my accounts. Ruh-roh.

The Screeching Hyenas are at it Again.

What do you know...all hell broke loose on the set of The View, yet again!  They should just change the name of this show to Screaming Screechers.  As usual thought, it was 4 against 1.  They really need one more conservative on that show to help back Elisabeth up in her debates.  Cuz if you were constantly ganged up on when trying to give your viewpoint, you'd get defensive and start sounding like a crazy woman too.  All I know from this clip is that Obama associates with terrorists and hate-mongers, while McCain is a low-life cheating scumbag who doesn't care if people are in accidents.

Wow, and these are the 2 winners I get to choose from in November?  Can we please have a 3rd candidate pop up?  I never thought I'd say this, but where's Al Gore when we need him!?

Personally, I would rather dig Ronald Reagan up from the dead and bring him back to life.  I think if I had one wish right now, that would be it.  He would make us all feel good again.  I miss the times of just us vs. Russia.  Life is easier when you know who your enemy is, you're more powerful than your enemy, your economy is growing, and shows like Family Ties and Cheers make Thursday nights worthwhile.

The roof...the roof...the roof is on fire...run Nick Nolte run!

Nick's house went up in flames yesterday due to a suspected "electrical fire". Uh huh. Only if "electrical fire" is code for "not getting paid as much and need some insurance money to keep my booze habit going". Yeah, then in that case it probably was an electrical fire!

I dunno, after seeing his crazy mug shot and how he has not aged well, I just have a feeling that he's one of those guys who has clutter everywhere in his house and 15 appliances plugged into one outlet and leaves cigarettes burning while he falls asleep. He just doesn't strike me as a tidy guy. But thankfully he's okay. Luckily he sustained a little bit of smoke inhilation, but not much more.

Avert Your Eyes
This is one of the most horrifying, disturbing, eye-burning videos ever, but it's pretty dang funny too. I don't know if it's safe for human viewing, but it's just barely safe for work.

Will someone pleaaaaaase vote this woman off the show before she breaks her hip and all the rest of her bones?!

Weekend Catchup

Sleep...must get some soon...long day ahead.  ugh.

Quick post.

Saw Bill Maher's documentary Religulous this weekend.  Hilarious - with a capital 'h'.  I'm not a huge Bill Maher fan either...and we definitely have opposing political beliefs...but I think he and I agree quite a bit on religion.  Religulous isn't about atheism or putting down any one religion.  Instead, he questions the core beliefs of all the major religions and interviews several religious leaders/preachers/spiritual people along the way.  Sure, it's totally biased, but if you can laugh at religion at all, I think you'll appreciate this.  I just wish there had been more on Scientology, as it is definitely the most ridiculous of all the religions!

The biggest news this weekend - OJ is finally going to jail.  yay!  Personally, I believe he was set up for this latest crime.  Seems too convenient that the "victims" happened to have recorders recording at the time of the hold-up.  But who the fuck cares if it was a set up or not?  This guy is getting what he deserves!  But I'm sure he's most concerned about who will find Nicole's real killer now that he'll be locked away.

Saturday Night Live actually had a few funnies this week...I'll post some of the skits below.  My favorite one-liner was in the weekend update.  Seth Meyers was reporting about the OJ verdict and said "jurors found OJ Simpson guilty this week on counts of kidnapping and burglary....but really murder".  He said it in his cute sarcasticy way.  That was a zinger there!

Okay, here are some vids.  Sorry for the short post.

Voir mon paradis
Today's bonus tracks

Christophe Maé
- On s'attache
- Mon paradis
- Sa danse donne

It has to take some incredible force of nature to divert my excitement away from my upcoming Manic Street Preachers concert and trip to Hong Kong with my best friend Therese. Here's where Christophe Maé comes in.

One of the French interns at work lent me his thumb drive full of MP3s after I complained that my taste in French music was ten years out of date, since MCM disappeared from our cable lineup. There was only one Christophe Maé song in the bunch, but that voice immediately made an impression on me.

Oddly enough, it was a negative one at first, given that it was high, almost unnatural, as the first few measures of "On s'attache" progressed. But in the next few seconds, my jaw had to drop. "Damn, that funky white boy can sang."

And just like that, I decided I LOVED this guy. His voice resembles James Morrison's, but with a more diverse range and masterful control. His style of music is the blue-eyed soul/acoustic/soft rock/R&B that's also up Marc Broussard's or Elliott Yamin's alley. I learned from quick research that he'd starred in a French musical and that his debut album, Mon paradis, sold a million copies in France alone last year. Wow. Here was someone who was actually worth the hype.

Please do listen. You won't regret it. =)

ETA: Merde! Why is his album on Amazon.com effin' expensive? ^^;;;;; And he just released a new album last week! I must have that one too!

* * *

Thanks to all of you who commented in my last two frantic entries about my upcoming pilgrimage to see the Manics. I just met up with Therese earlier to start our plans, and we ended up already booking a plane and hotel. Her folks and boyfriend complained about the price, so they'll try to find us another travel package deal on Monday. It was kind of my fault, because I seem to have distorted perceptions of cheap and expensive, specially given my own meager financial status, haha.

I'll spare you the gory details–until another time at least–but, yes, I'm finally excited. It's really happening! <3 Only my best friend and the Manics can actually make me excited about going to Hong Kong.

And I know I shouldn't be spending, especially if I'm traveling next month, but I gave my credit card a workout earlier today. ^^;;;;;; But I needed a new pair of boots! And jeans that actually fit me! And two new tops!

Oh, and yes, it does floor me to realize that I've managed to buy a MacBook Pro, iPod touch, iPhone, and now, will buy a trip to Hong Kong all in less than a year. Mooching off parents rocks! Hah!

Want: Christophe Maé - Mon paradis
Need: New slacks. Haha, my shopping isn't done!
Love: My daddy, because he'll lend me the money for the fare and hotel first, and I can pay him back whenever I want, right? =P Right?
Hate: That my credit card statement hasn't arrived yet. I want to pay up already! I don't like being in debt! Or the illusion that my bank account is actually healthy. Look what it leads me to do! Go on whimsical, impulsive trips abroad!

Hot Dude of the Day
Okay, I can't believe I haven't made this guy a Hot Dude of the Day yet.  But he honestly didn't deserve it for awhile considering all of his bad behavior.  But there's no denying this guy is good-looking and super talented.  He's having a stellar year, and I'm glad he cleaned his act up.  I'm sure you can figure out who it is....so without further ado...please welcome Robert Downey Jr. to the Hot Dude of the Day club.  Did you know that RDJ was actually a cast member on SNL for 1 season back in 1975!?  Wow...I've seen a lot of the old SNLs, but I'm not sure if I've ever seen him on there.  When will we get a 'Best of" for him?  They should just combine him, Belushi, and Farley all together and do a 'BEST OF SNL'S CRACKHEADS' box set.  And apparently he was blind for 7 years as well, because he lived with Sarah Jessica Parker.  Downey has conquered the 3 major genres this year with Iron Man, Tropic Thunder, and the upcoming oscar-contender The Soloist.  That means he could get an Oscar, a Blockbuster Award, and a Razzie all in the same year!  Nah, nothing he did this year was razzie-worthy.  Okay...on to the pics and video if I find anything good.

Psycho Stone

WTF is going on with Sharon Stone!?  She recently lost custody of her son with Lizard Foot man (that's easier to remember than his actual name).  But then she claims that she didn't "lose" custody, she just travels too much to provide a stable environment., so the courts decided the kid should live w/dad full time..ummm okay.  So how is that not losing custody?  Now reports are surfacing that she wanted to actually give the toddler botox injections in the foot to help with an odor issue.  WHAT THE FUCK!?  Why didn't anyone tell me botox helps with odor issues!?  I hate my stinky feet.  I also hate botox and needles.  But if my feet are what's keeping me from getting laid, then I'm totally ready to stick poisonous needles into my feet!

But seriously...what ever happened to Dr. Scholl!?  I think Dr. Scholl is fine for foot odor at least until one reaches the age of 18, then they should feel free to put poison into their soles.  Get it??   She wanted to poison her son's sole.  Ha ha ha.

Don't Drop the Soap!

Ooooh Helio.  And I don't mean the phone.  I mean the sexy, foreign, race car driver/reality star.  Why don't these high-profile reality stars realize they have to pay taxes too?!  Helio Castroneves was indicted yesterday on tax evasion and conspiracy charges.  If convicted, he could face up to 35 years in jail!  Noooo!  That hot piece of meat won't last longer than a week in the pokey.  And I love that his sister was involved too.  I'm not kidding.  I think a family that does crime together is sweet.  I can't even get my brothers to remember my b-day or visit me when they're in the area.  But noooo...Helio's sibling is willing to go to jail for him.   Lucky bastard.

Anyways, maybe he can room with Richard Hatch from Survivor and they can argue over which one of them was a more successful reality has-been.

Fossett Fossils?

A year after he first went missing in his private plane, his wreckage, and perhaps the remains of wackadoodle adventurer Steve Fossett have been found.  Shit!  I was really hoping he had faked his death.  I was convinced of it.  If I was a filthy rich pilot who wanted a fresh start, I'd totally fake my own death and hide out on a private island for the rest of my life with an endless supply of booze and hot cabana boys.  And who knows...they still aren't sure if this piece of bone they found belongs to Fossett or a coyote.  Of course, if I was an eccentric billionaire, I would also cut off one of my bones to make it look like a bear had eaten the rest of me, except for my one bone.  Damnit, why can't I find me a crazy rich guy?  It's sad to say, but I'd be totally easy for the right amount of money.  I'd basically be a slave to a rich dude if he promised to take me away to a private island.  That's pretty normal, right?

VP Debate

Ha!  Take that all you Palin-haters...she didn't screw up so bad after all did she?!  Other than getting a General's name wrong and making a freudian slip about wanting McCain to "leave" instead of "lead"....but otherwise, I think she held her own during the debate.  I'm not saying I agree with her necessarily...I'm just glad that she didn't fall on her face like so many people anticipated.  And, I totally won my Palin Bingo...thanks to "hockey moms", "Alaska", "Maverick", and "six pack"!  Woo hoo!  Next time I think I'll have a drinking game based on her saying "ooooh Joe" or "you betcha".

Of course, what the hell do these debates really mean anyways...cuz according to the analysts afterwards, both sides lied and stretched the truth.  But for the most part we don't know that.  I don't know if Obama voted against the war 98 times or 37 times.  So when they throw around numbers like that, they should be accurate!  But they're politicians...and lying is all they know.  Well, lying and deception.
