robotech_master @ 1:06pm: Grandville Hospital Crisis
I don't know if there's even anybody reading this group anymore, as long as it's been since there was a post here, but it's worth a shot mentioning it. Evil taxibots are currently needed on all live servers, since some issues with the latest patch have apparently resulted in dying and hospitalling in Grandville depositing one in the middle of a big black void instead of the hospital. Teleports out work normally, so this is an area where Taxibots really could do some good. (Or evil, as the case may be. :)

cmdr_zoom @ 11:33am: Getawaybots?
So, I was wondering... do we have a plan? Is there someone trying to get to 10 during the head start to form the group? What's the character naming scheme? Colors? Recommended costume options?

namey @ 1:04pm: Evil taxibots?
So, with CoV just around the corner -- were there any plans on an alternate version of the PTS on the Villains side of things? I've currently got a one-man SG called the "Transporticons" on Beta, since the name came up during some random conversation about it a while back.

Hey everyone, in case you arrived here by going to taxibots.com or by a Google search, you should be aware that the Taxibots home site has moved. You can still post here, but this journal is for the most part unmonitored.
The new site is located at:

joey_sleaze @ 11:41am: Hi there!
I'm planning on starting a new Taxibot character, but I'm unsure of what server to be on. I'd like to be on one with fairly high level of Taxibot SG activity, but isn't so oversaturated by Taxibot presence that my participation won't be needed. Anyone have any suggestions?

Does the name HAVE to have taxibot in it or can it be related? Any servers, id like to know your policiy
mr_mooph @ 12:07pm: The gears may be rusty, kid, but they still turn...
Salutations one and all. Greetings to the new bots and a big how's it been to the old class. On to my point. I've been gone for quite awhile now...the majority of this year actually. You see, I got pulled away from my beloved paragon city by a group of friends who wanted to go play in the wilds. So, I got sucked into that other game that we won't mention. At any rate, those very same friends oddly enough are being tempted back to the old stomping ground, so I may be making a reappearance soon. I was wondering if there was still action happening on the virtue server, who the new guard is, what's been going on in my absense, basically wondering what the status quo is at the moment. I assume I've been kicked from the group due to inactivity and need to know whose still around (or is the new rep) to contact to get re-commissioned. It may be a few weeks, but here's to hopin' TaxiBot 0 starts patrolling the streets again really soon. -TBO out.

robotech_master @ 10:12pm: Taxibot Service Idea: Hamidon Raid Teleport Train & Recruiting
Here's a great little way that taxibots (or people with recall friend in general) can be of service during one of the greatest endgame events—well, all right, all right, the only endgame event in City of Heroes. As you may know, Hamidon lives in one of the most remote zones in the entire game; to get to a raid, participants ordinarily have to traverse a long chain of zones in which there is no transportation available aside from the old shank's mare. Talos to Founders to Eden to the inhospitable Hive. This can lead to raids failing for lack of participants—even though there might be a dozen eligible people around, none of them wants to spend the ten minutes or so necessary to make it to the raid on his own. And heck, the way some raids go ten minutes can be the difference between starting hold phase and getting a hami-O. But that's where the Taxibots can come in. Even if you're not eligible to go into the Hive yourself, you can still contribute in a nontrivial manner to a raid's success—by operating a port train. ( You probably already have a pretty good idea of how to do this from running badge tours, but here are some suggestions anyway. )I got the idea from being transported along a port train to a Pinnacle raid, and subsequently established a train of my own for the two recent Victory raids using my 50 Defender as the conductor. Both times, we must have notified and ported twenty or thirty people into the Hive over the course of the raid, saving at least a couple of hours total travel time—and I got several compliments on how cool and well-organized the whole affair was. I strongly believe that having those additional Controllers and other members contributed in no small degree to the easy success of those raids. It did take a little doing to find two other teleporters to help me, though...which is why I figure it might be a good idea to have some group like the Taxibots participate whenever possible. What do you think?

herobeat @ 11:45pm: Announcement: Paragon City Free Press
Hey all, I'll keep the annoucement here short and follow up with some details posted as a comment if anyone is interested.
In the next couple of weeks, I'm going to start recruiting heavily for a new supergroup called the Paragon City Free Press. The theme of the group will be that all of the members will be reporters, columnists, editors, contributors, or otherwise associated with a newspaper by the same name. All archetypes and origins will be welcome.
The cool thing (I hope) is that the Paragon City Free Press isn't just a supergroup, it's an actual virtual newspaper that exists on a site I'm working on, a virtual paper covers events and goings-on in and around Paragon City. In a way, it will be a direct rival of the Paragon Times, except that I'm hoping that new stories will be more common, the stories will be more interesting, and all of the material will be contributed by the community. It will be different from other fansites and supergroup sites in that it will (hopefully) appeal to the community at large through such projects as a wiki.
What does this have to do with the Taxibots?
A few things. I was inspired by this group of people who want more from the game than just getting to level 50 and "winning." I'm also hoping that some of the 'bots may want to exercise some of their creativity and become contributors. And more concretely, I will probably ask for help with publicity at an event in the not-too-distant future. Maybe we'll even become partners in a coalition, since taxis presumably have the inside scoop of what's really going on in Paragon City. If you're remotely interested in what I'm working on, I'll post more in the comments so that this journal page won't get cluttered.

taxibot_37 @ 2:43pm: Time Off
Well, as some of you may have noticed, i have been inactive for quite some time. The reason? My time card ran out. Being that college just started, i need to take time off of any type of gaming for at least a couple more weeks. Also, i have kind of grown tired of CoH, so i may try xbox live or star wars galaxies for a few months....i have many friends on both of those, so i would like to visit them and say hi for a while. I know that i have made many friends on here including Hollow, X, Grim, and others. I will get CoH again maybe near christmas or the beginning of next year, that is, if i am going to get xbox live or STG. If not, then you'll be seeing me running around a lot sooner. I'll still be checking the boards, and commenting on it though. So, in case i don't see you! Good afternoon, good evening, and good night! -Taxibot_37

stormcaller3801 @ 6:55pm: Saying Adieu
I'm sitting here staring at my computer screen, and I hate to do it, but I have to say I'm going to be removing Taxibot Shadow and Taxibot Bronze from the garages on Infinity and Guardian. This is due to the fact I'm not putting the time into them that I should; I could say that I don't have the time to play them, but I could easily log them both on regularly. Unfortunately, I'm lagging behind on a lot of obligations like this, and I need to just face the fact that I'm not able to juggle everything. I need a certain amount of motivation, and it isn't there. Taking up space in the garage without acknowledging that is a disservice to my fellow Taxibots. I don't intend to retire either of them, but I don't know when I'll be motivated to pick them up again. That may be soon, that may be later. But whatever the case, it's been good serving with all of you, and if you see Taxibot Bronze lumbering around or Taxibot Shadow with his trademark Shadow Slide, feel free to say hi.

cmdr_zoom @ 2:02am: Frostfire / New Recruit(s)
Friday, Taxibot Gamma: (1) Dinged 20, after languishing at 19 for most of this year; (2) Decided to clear the stale Frostfire mission that he was holding in case anyone in the SG wanted it; (3) Did the mission, exemped, with a great team including Ward Star and his RL wife; and (4) Inspired them to create their own Taxibot(s). Be on the lookout for Taxibot Blue and Taxibot Firefly. Now, I still have the Fortune Teller/Spelunker Badge mission that I've been holding. Would anyone in the Virtue garage like to come along, or shall I go ahead and offer it to a pickup group?

taxibot_theta @ 3:33pm: Book ideas
Long time no see, eh? Anyway, I didn't think I'd need to ask, but here it is anyway: Would it be alright if I used the PTS name and some of your characters' names for a book I'm writing? I figured this would be the best way to contact all you guys. Anyway, keep up the good work guys, and I hope to run into a few of you in the CoV beta... that is, whenever GameStop wants to call and let me know they have it.

simremo @ 11:00am:
While on duty in Steel Canyon last night, I received a rather mysterious transmission asking me to go to Cooke's Electronics to meet a potential new recruit for the PTS. Although I was slightly suspicious of a trap or ambush, I headed over there immediately. When I entered the store, a clerk hurried over to me, and directed me to follow him. We went behind a counter, and the clerk opened a rather well disguised door. He motioned me to go through but was clearly not going in himself. Even more suspicious of some foul play now, I made sure all my defensive and weapon systems were online and stepped through the open door. As soon as I was clear of the entrance, the door shut. I found myself in a storage room full of large lock boxes. Glancing at the labels, each box held specific enhancements sold by Cooke's. The room was not very brightly lit, but suddenly a greenish glow eminated from behind a large stack of boxes. Out stepped an all too familiar figure, and I hastily deactivated my defenses and weapons once I over came my initial surprise. The hero before me explained he had heard so many good things about the Taxibots that he wanted to become a member of the PTS, but that his joining should be kept secret. I hope he does not mind, but I had to let you all know. Here he is, the newest "secret" member of the PTS, the one and only, Positron! (hehe, when I saw the picture of Positron in the CoH FanSite Kit, I just could not resist) - Taxibot Grim

herobeat @ 7:00am: Taxibot Belle on Leave...
Hey all, I know I haven't been around very much as Taxibot Belle. There are two reasons for that: 1) I've had a lot of non-Paragon City stuff going on that has been yanking my attention away from the game by the 'nads, and 2) in what little spare time I've had, I've been working on another game-related project that will hopefully add a lot to the City of Heroes community. I'll post a short notice about it later; I don't want to spoil the grand opening yet. :-)
In the meantime, I'm not dead (yet), and I do check in on this board. Hopefully I'll also be back in Taxibot action before too long.
Oh, and you all are still doing a great job keeping up the good work. The Taxibots covered The Cape Radio's re-launch at the Paragon Dance Party really well. It was great publicity for both them and the Taxibots.

P.S. I like the forums idea!

Really sleepy and should be in bed - but the short of the Dispatch Virtue meeting was that I made a "guildportal" account for us, and Dispatchers were in agreement to start the move over there. So - go to http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=42213 and check it out. I've put a couple posts in the forums already for discussion. Site set up is very very elementary right now; Hollow is going to work on graphics; so just imagine, if you will, the animated gif from 1995 that says, "Under Construction" Thoughts? Taxibot 1 Virtue

bbe @ 1:15pm: Icon!
How lazy am I? I just now got around to making my Taxibot icon, that's how lazy. Uh, so this isn't a content-less post though - heh, I had an indeterminate amount of time to kill, so was drive-by healing/buffing in the Hollows and just got bitched out. Every time I'd gone around my circuit, there was this little level 5 guy out where he shouldn't have been that I kept healing and fortituding. Third time I did it I got a /tell from a group nearby - they said he'd been KSing them and were mad I was keeping him alive; thought I was intentionally helping them grief. So I explained I just heal whoever's hurt. Hrm. . .not that I think a level 5 can really do much to KS a level 8 group, but still, I kinda missed healing him next time I went past. . . :) Taxibot 1 Virtue

creamnsugar @ 10:28am: A hero retires
OK, so not a real-life hero. But an in-game hero. Heck a number of them considering all my alts. I love City of Heroes and love the community but frankly am getting bored of content; i5 doesn't enamour me nearly as well. I'm sure, like others in the city_of_heroes community I will return at some point in time (maybe in COV). You knew me as @karina on the Taxibots and Live Journal global chats. Keep saving the city for me, just be sure that you let Doc Vahz escape for my unlikely return. I've been playing since just after release and it just feels so sad to be leaving! Friend me if it pleases you, I'd love to keep in touch. I salute you! Karina Cross-posted to city_of_heroes | creamnsugar | coh_virtue

Tonight I became a real boy taxibot! I got my new paintjob and participated in my first PTS Badge Tour in Kings Row. It was lots of fun, and I'm really glad I decided to become a taxibot. Thanks everyone who welcomed me into the Pinnacle garage tonight, and I hope to meet everyone else soon! ( pictures behind the cut )

(and sorry guys who aren't dispatchers - I'm not intentionally being undemocratic, just trying to keep it a small group - we won't do nuffin big without putting it out to everyone)
