one more book

While this is not another story in the Potterverse, this is canonical as this represents the actual stories from Beedle the Bard in Deathly Hallows.  Check it out here.

Order of the Phoenix

Went to see Order of the Phoenix on Friday.  It really was about what I expected.  An okay visual of the major points of the book.  But I do have some serious complaints from a film perspective.  This was not as bad as Goblet of Fire, where a non reader could not possibly understand what was going on.  But significantly poor choices were made with the plot.  Many of the characters were misrepresented.  I would not say to not see it.  Every Harry Potter fan will want to see it no matter how bad it is.  But definitely expect to be disappointed if you want it to be just like the book.

looking forward

I am looking forward to the new book.  I had started this community because I wanted to talk about Harry Potter.  But I found after a short time that there are few really outstanding plot points.  There is only so much to talk about horcruxes before you have to delve into the silly theories.  The only other issue that really needs to be explored is this: Is this really the last book?

A conversation between [info]tonxy and [info]wembler:

tonxy:  I have a question for you. Do you think there's more to the prophecy that we don't know about and that Snape hasn't told Voldemort?

wembler:  We know that Dumbledore and Trelawney remember the events of the night slightly differently.

t:  It was just a thought that passed through my head. Oh and I just completely understood your question and I will post a more proper response to it. I forgot that he actually he wore the ring.

w:  From some of the descriptions given, it would seem that Dumbledore and Snape staged a scene for Trelawney, so that she would remember Snape having overheard.  Though she would not know what he overheard.  But, if they staged it, then Dumbledore lied to Harry about Snape going to tell Voldemort something he overheard.  It would mean that Snape was already in cahoots with Dumbledore and they sent Voldemort after the Potters on purpose.
