How is everybody? All recovered from the excitement? Happily reading away? Admiring all the wonderful art? Good good.

There's so much good fic and art here, the Mods don't want any to miss out, so we're working on ways to keep bringing it to you. Hopefully PDFs will be out by the end of the month, and we're looking into possiblities for eBook formats sometime after that.

For the moment, though, keep reading and commenting and, possibly more importantly, sharing your thoughts on what you've seen and read. If anyone's worked their way through a good number of stories and has a rec list, awesome! Do let us have a link to it. If you read something and it inspires you to make something, wonderful! If that's a story, check with the author that they're happy for you to play in their sand pit, or if it's art, let them know what you're doing and we'll see about getting further pieces posted to the comm.

[Just as an aside, posting to the comm is now open to everybody, not just members, but we're on moderated posting for the moment. The mods are in 3 different timezones, so we should be able to get to things fairly quickly]

You all put so much hard work into this, let's make sure that gets shared around as much as possible.

First, is it clear how the feedback journal works? You can use the comment links from the main site to get to your feedback post, or you can go to tardisbigbang and use tags to find it. Once you've done that, you can use the track function (the little push-pin) to be notified whenever someone comments on that post--that way you won't miss any feedback. Holler if you have questions.

Also, given the number of stories and art pieces we're dealing with, it's highly likely that there will be errors somewhere. If you find a problem, please drop a note to the mods at tardis.bigbang@gmail.com, and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can. Warning, though: the web coder--i.e., me--is going out of town for the weekend, so there might be a bit of a delay.

It's that time again! (I know you're all thinking, "finally!")

We started this year with a huge number of people signing up. After months of hard work from everyone involved, this year's BigBang is twice the size of last year's. 45 stories and I long ago lost track of the number of art pieces.

Participants, you're incredible.

Mods, this year really wouldn't have happened without you. You guys are wonderful.

Don't forget, everybody, the website goes live TODAY!!! There'll be a full-on announcement here in the comm later on, so this is just by way of a little housekeeping before we get there and everyone gets over-excited.

~ Participants! Every artist and author has a feedback post in the comm's other livejournal*. Find your story on the website, click "comment" and it'll take you to the post. Then click the little drawing pin and you can track the post to see what everyone's saying about your wonderful work.

~ Readers! Do remember to let participants know what you thought of their stories. The amount of work available on the site is phenomenal, so it's easy to get overwhelmed and forget to comment. But I promise you will be showered with gratitude if you've taken the time to read and leave even a line of feedback. [participants, don't you go making me a liar now, will you?]

~ Everybody! Make sure you promote the fest in your journals. Participants, you're free to link to your story once we're live! Readers, start sharpening your pencils for those rec lists.

And it doesn't end here! We hope to make pdfs available soon, and possibly ebooks later in the year (watch this space!), and I'm sure there's more art and fic yet to be inspired by these stories.

OK, now that things are settling down a bit, here's what's happening:

Wednesday, June 24, 8:00pm BST / 3:00pm EDT / noon PDT / whatever-it-is-in-Australia, the website will go live. Yay! When that happens, we'll make a post to this community. We'll also explain how the feedback journal works, for those of you who weren't around last year.

(This means that there's not much time for the last few stragglers to get their submissions in. Hope to hear from you all soon!)

After that, we'll start work on the PDFs. When they're ready, we'll link to them from the website and make an announcement here--probably late July/early August. Ish.

And after that, we'll do something about ebooks--we're not sure what just yet. There might be some discussion here about that. If you have opinions, feel free to let us know... although waiting until after Wednesday might not be a bad idea.

So that's the plan... cross your fingers that everything goes smoothly! If things change, we'll let you know.

We have art for every story! Yay! But... we're only four artists away from having at least two pieces for every story. Of course, we're taking this as a challenge.

Thanks to everyone who's sent us things in the past 24 hours. At my rough count, we've got 30 stories and a GINORMOUS amount of art (what? it's a number. isn't it?).

We know that there were some people who gave us advanced warning that they'd be submitting late for myriad reasons, and that's fine, you're accounted for. But there are still a number of stories waiting for their first piece of art, and some pieces of art where we're waiting for the story!

So this post is just to remind everyone out there that the Mods are human too, that we get it when life gets in the way and that sometimes, these things can't be helped. If this is you, and you haven't been in touch/sent us anything because you're running late and are scared of getting glared at, please contact us. We don't yell, we have much tea and sympathy, and we'd love to be able to work something out with you.

If you don't get in touch, we can't help you. And we want to help you! This fest is going to rock, if current submissions are anything to go by, and we'd love for you to be a part of it.

The mods are having a great time watching the submissions rolling in--so far we're up to 9 stories and 60 (!!!) pieces of art! You're all amazing! Of course, that means we've got 37 stories to go--I hope they're all moving along nicely.
