A self-confessed fur, Antarius, was attacked by a dog on Sunday 12th October. Antarius was going to visit a sibling when he walked into their backyard & encountered their Rottweiler, whom he had not seen before, when the very large dog charged. The Rottweiler leaped at the surprised and unsuspecting Antarius and knocked him down, towering over him as Antarius landed flat on his back. The dog then lunged for Antarius' face, proceeding to lick & drool all over it, as well as his hands, neck, toes and any unprotected body parts while Antarius proceeded to try and recover. It is reported that Antarius suffered a groin injury during the collision, and was unable to stand upright afterwards, claiming he was "knackered." When asked if Antarius' condition could be described as 'serious,' a spokesfur responded: "Serious? Ant? Bwahahahahahahaha!" and proceeded to roll around on the ground in a state of hysterics. Wiping tears from their eyes, they responded: "What was the question again?" A medical professional was asked if he was stable, to which he replied astonished; "You haven't met him, have you?"

So, I'm on vacation again, but I have some projects coming due soon, so I will have to work part of the time. At least I can do most of it from home. I went into the office today at 8 and worked until 3AM. I would have gone in earlier, but I got distracted watching this:

If you haven't seen it, you should really make a point of it. I don't think I've ever seen such a powerful individual performance.
In other news, I will need some help this coming Saturday moving a rather large picnic table through a gate. In order to do so, It must be held up (completely off the ground) lengthwise. This will require at least two other people (one to tip it up and two of us to carry it) and it will not be easy. Beer and BBQ will be offered in payment. Lemme know if interested.

I have been thinking lately-Is it necessary for someone to have a formal initiation? Or is it possible to self initiate one's self? I have always thought that if you or said person felt a strong draw to a path or a set of paths and wished to get involved in said path but preferred to be solitary in said path, is their 'initiation' less valid then someone whom went through the motions of it?
I mean for those that feel the draw to the path or wish to add part of that path to their own current path, I personally see no problems- I mean initiation is really between you and the gods of that paticular faith that you are wish to become part of- I don't think you need to have a baptism that is grand, it can be somehting as simple as you, in nature with the god and commune with the unknown god and make your initiation known to that god-I see nothing wrong with that and i think that for the person whom wishes to do a self dedication ceremony, baptism, or endowment-just because you may not be on that faith's roster doesn't mean that your dedication is worth less than that of someone that went through the motion. Granted there may be those out there that disagree, and that is fine, everyone is intitled to their opinions and beliefs-

While for the most part this blog as been just a collection of random thoughts, ideas, and finds on Moroni and my polytheist path-I am thinking of expanding upon that to include more indepth posts about Moroni, Nephites, Lamanites and how from my personal path they relate. Sort of a tapestry of religion. I have always felt that religion can't be static, it can't deny outside influences because if it did, that said religion would become stunted or would grow and change with the times and peoples understandings as we progress in this life.
While for me my 'tapestry' is a complex one. And I want, I think, to take this blog and weave my own 'tapestry' but while weaving it, want to explore it further, with thoughts, feelings, and watch what happens when the external explorations of living weave themselves into this tapestry. We each have our own 'tapestry' of religion. Whether we realize it or not. Those whom don't, i truly and deeply feel for them. As, I believe, they are losing out on how wonderful and rich in colour each and everyone's 'tapestry' can be.
And with those that have a mixed faith path, that tapestry is complex and rich with colour and variety. And that variety i long for, while I begun my path on the Reconstructional boards of the Hellenismos, Religio Romana, i quickly learned that wasn't me, they were creating something that had become silent. And while I am not leaving my graeco roman path, I wanted a voice, but a voice mixed with voices, a chorus. The ancients didn't live in bubbles far removed from the outside world of other religions. The Ancients embraced different religions and brought them with them, ie Mithras, Adonis, Isis, Endovelico (my Lusitani ancestoral god) to just name a few. And in Rome those culti flurenced and thrived and become something new and wonderful.
I believe that is what I will be doing with this blog, taking it just from a research blog but a blog that i will begin weaving the 'tapestry' of my own path but also the merging of outside elements. I understand that this will make me unpopular with some, those who feel that it's disrespectful, or it will anger the gods-and i will say as i always have, if the gods are angry they let us know, we just have to listen for them, they will let us know. My path has always been a mixture of syncretism and eclecticism- And it's beautiful.
