YouTube, HITS Galleries, and a New Mod!

  • Feb. 11th, 2009 at 3:08 AM
Over the last couple months I've slowly been releasing some old videos from 2005 onto the HITS Channel on YouTube.  They were ones I skipped over before due to quality or the fact that at the time, I didn't want 5 versions of Just A Friend up there.  But I've dismissed those morals and really want to make the HITS Channel the largest collection of Tally Hall fan videos on the net.

You're more than welcome to send me whatever you'd like added to the channel... but if you don't I typically Favorite videos on other people's channels so there's still a sense of one-stop-shopping to find tons and tons of Tally Hall videos.

Anywho, I've added a few more from '05 today and will be adding even more over the next few weeks.

http://www.youtube.com/user/HITSdotcom

ALSO...

If you've ever tried adding fan art, wallpapers, avatars (anything except concert photos) to the HITS Galleries, and found you didn't know how to add new items, I've been notified of the problem and that's now fixed.   So any stuff like that can now be added to the collection for the rest of the Tally Hall-loving world to see.

ADDITIONALLY...

We have a new moderator here.  Say hello to [info]shan0n .  She's the one who submitted that wallpaper the other day.  My only real need is for her to update this community with news just as I do on HITS News and a bunch of us do on the Tally Hall Forums and HITS forums.  Those do tend to be the best places to get your Tally Hall news, but it would be great to have that info streamlined over here, too, and I just can't ever seem to remember to do that.

So while I have your attention and we're talking about TH news, it was revealed that they are not yet in the studio but are getting close to being there and working on the new album.  They do hope to have it released in 2009 but when working with a major label, these things simply cannot be guaranteed until the day they happen.

But I hope you all enjoyed the Tally Hall Internet Show as much as I did!  Anyone have any questions about it or things they'd like to discuss?  Here's where to do it!

Song in Episode 6 of T.H.I.S.

  • Nov. 25th, 2008 at 6:15 PM
Does anyone know the name of the song (or where to get it) in episode 6 of T.H.I.S.?
Not Two Wuv, the one that plays for a few seconds when they're on the highway.

Demos

  • Nov. 16th, 2008 at 2:49 AM
I am sorry if I am infringing the rules by posting these but I figured since they're no longer for sale they're fair game.

Complete Demos LP
Pingry EP & Collection of odd rarities, covers and demos
Note: MySpace rip quality occurs often in Pingry and the oddities since a lot of it was ripped from MySpace. Here's the tracklist for the oddities:

Smile Like You Mean It (cover for OC soundtrack)
Just a Friend (the one on their MySpace, ripped as such)
Praise You (Fatboy Slim cover, also a MySpace rip)
Cell Phone Call (Just some live banter I don't know why I have)
Good Day (IN SIMLISH for The Sims 2: Apartment Life)
Spring and a Storm (An old demo that never got on one of the demo things)
Inside the Mind of Simon (Potential next album song, MySpace ripped.)
Two songs by Mr. F which is Ross as a mix-up DJ
A cover of Hidden in the Sand by HSRTron
The first season of songs from Happy Monster Band
A few surprises ;)

I'd love some more of the demos if people have them. And the explanations were for the original post in my journal, just disregard them.

And if I'm breaking rules, just delete this post.

First Post!

Hello fellow Tally Hall lovers! My name is EMi, and I'm a 22 year old New York resident, specifically Long Island. I became a fan a little over two years ago when my friend introduced me to the Banana Man video, and since then I've seen Tally Hall live something like 7 times. I fancy myself an amateur photographer and my focus is live concert photography, so every time I see them, I do my best to bring a camera and take as many photos as I can. Here are some from Tally Hall's July 9th show at The Knitting Factory :

Hope you guys enjoy the photos! :D

A wittle secwet... shhhh!

I watched Indiana Jones 4 tonight.  Just got home, in fact.   And in the spirit of spelunking and digging around and secrets and hidden treasures, I will share one with you now.

So... [info]icaboo pointed this out to me and I thought about what to do with it for a little while.  I gave it time to go away, but it didn't.  So I've come up with a way that basically helps others find it in a way that she did and ANY other red-blooded human could do -- without even trying.

But act fast, because this may be gone soon, now that its being pointed out.

Tally Hall's playing the Comerica Cityfest on Thursday.  Why don't you go on over to their website and check out the band schedule:
http://www.newcenter.com/cityfest/2008/schedule.html

While you're there, why not click on your favorite band's name.  Just for kicks.

Enjoy.

a mention on the best week ever blog

  • May. 2nd, 2008 at 5:20 PM
Hey all, the "Good Day" video got a catchy write-up over at Best Week Ever. It's good to see them getting good internet buzz!

VIDEO HITS ONE: This Music Video Is Catchier Than Playing Catch With A Packet of Ketchup
I don’t know if its the infectious piano hook, the fun-loving indie-kids-by-way-of-Queen vibe, the rotating TV screens gimmick, or the fact that the song’s called “Good Day”, but I think the kids are gonna go crazy for this video from Tally Hall. As Catbird (who’s right about the way we bloggers mine for material, by the way) says, this song was practically written for an Apple ad, which is like the Super Bowl of sonic catchyness.

Your new favorite video, after the jump!

Check it out here.

LJ Updated

  • Apr. 25th, 2008 at 10:05 PM
Ok!

So since it seems that people are still using Livejournal. I had to update the account and blah blah blah in order to get a new design working. I will probably get working on the community info next.

In the meantime, be sure to check out the HITS YouTube Channel. There's been a lot of new additions including the rest of Wall Party '06 which was made into it's own playlist.

Here, check it out in the player below -- and don't forget to go look at the other ones added recently, like Oliver's old interview with them and some video from last week's show in Philly.

Hope you like the "new look" of this place! I know it's a standard theme and all, but at least you can see the navigation bar at the top, now.

The Status of the Tally Hall LJ

  • Apr. 22nd, 2008 at 10:26 AM
I'm so over LiveJournal. I don't check it. I don't use it. But I feel like LiveJournal isn't through with me. Since the site has undergone so many changes, the design of this page is obviously not meshing well with the new LJ layout anymore. I hope to soon fix that by updating the design here and attempting to stir up some conversation again.

How many of you are still active users of LJ and wish to see this community thriving again?
If you do, tell me your thoughts on the new 2008 version of Marvin's! Have you seen their new live shows? Bonus track discussions. Questions? Concerns? Criticisms? Jokes?

old Tally Hall video

  • Feb. 15th, 2007 at 5:27 PM
Hi! I apologize for the random question (especially if it's already been addressed; I tried to look!), but I'm trying to find the video Tally Hall made, wherein two of them meet up and say hello and such, and then after they say goodbye, end up walking in the same direction, so it's nice and awkward. :D I'm not sure if they deleted a bunch of old videos off their site, OR if I'm just missing it (I'm pretty sure I checked all their youtube videos, too).

Anyhoo, if it's gone forever, then ah well. But if anyone knows where I might be able to view it still, I'd be very appreciative! Thanks! :D

FORUMS!!

  • Jan. 4th, 2007 at 10:37 PM
If you haven't noticed, the official Tally Hall forums have become overrun by spam-bots.

As of January 4th, Jill ("olwhatshername") and myself were the only modenators (people with the power to delete posts.) Needless to say, deleting 50-70 posts a day, one by one, got to be daunting and frustrating. We emailed our administrators (the people that run the board) to ask them to make it impossible for spam-bots to sign up or to make one of us an administrator so that we could take care of the problem ourselves in a much easier and effective manner. Neither of these things were done, so we agreed to stop spending so much time deleting spam and let it accumulate to make people aware of how bad the situation is. Please understand, we were frustrated by the large amounts of time spent cleaning up the forums and the complete lack of support from the administration, and would not have made this choice otherwise.

For the meantime, while we wait for the administrators to help, I have set up a completely new forum at the Tally Hall fansite www.hiddeninthesand.com/forum/ .

Register for the most up-to-date and spam-free Tally Hall news! At 12:00 midnight tonight, the board will be open for posting. As of right now, you can register yourself and read the announcements. Thanks!

Entire Concert Experience

  • Nov. 19th, 2006 at 11:48 PM
Hello!

For those who haven't heard, I updated HITS with a few new items. Check HITS News to read up on them. Most notably, Justin Cornwall has provided the site with his concert experience back on 7/27/06 at The Echo in LA. You can follow him from the car ride there, through the soundcheck, watch every single song performed, and a brief clip of the car ride back home.

Visit: http://www.hiddeninthesand.com

(PLEASE! The the site is supposed to be run by YOU GUYS, the fans! Share your experiences in the Groupie Journals, submit your artwork, avatars, wallpapers, etc.)
Hi all!

So my friends and I got out of school early yesterday and well, we were bored... so we went to burger king. We documented out experience for everyone to enjoy. Of course, we had a little help from tally hall. ;-]

This was our dry run, we're gonna do a better one this weekend where our "AHHHH's" harmonize instead of sounding like a baby seal dying of hypothermia.

Hope you enjoyed it! =D
