birdzilla @ 12:10 pm: Last night, I had a dream in which my parents were very awkwardly explaining to me that I wasn't actually my Dad's daughter. In fact, they hadn't married each other until after I was born; all those stories about their courtship and my birth were lies.

The kicker to this was that even in this dream, they couldn't explain why I so much resembled my Dad when I wasn't his child. There was just lots of awkward "hmmm" and "ummm" noises when I asked why I looked more like my Dad than like the very Indian guy that Mom showed me a picture of and claimed was my real father. XD

tageera @ 03:45 pm: Passover dinner buffet AND a show!
So I dreamt last night that Skillet (my favorite Christian rock/metal band) was coming to MY Church to do a concert.

Before the concert they served the Passover meal, which was buffet-style, and which included at least three different kind of pork entrees, along with sprigs of sour herbs, saltwater, horseradish, and other traditional foods. (Nevermind that Jews aren't allowed to eat pork, and the Passover is a yearly Jewish holiday.)

When Skillet came out on stage, they were dressed in fursuits, which they slowly hopped out of a little at a time during the course of the first song. And I mean hopped literally - they'd pop up in the air and land, and the suit would have fallen down a bit more to reveal more of the band member.

(Yes, they were wearing clothes.)

ks_claw @ 09:19 pm: Boatshaped coffins...
So.. *scratches head* I had a weird and slightly morbid dream the other night.

My sister and I where both travelling to a tropical place, where we together would be working on illustrating a children's book of some sort. And while we where driving along the sea, then out on various small islands we passed, we could see all sorts of tombstones.. Like those you see in american graveyards mostly, those REALLY big ones with carved angels and whatnot on them.. I think these where almost the sizes of summerhouses, or the islands where very close by, because we could see them in very good detail.

My sister at one point went "Wow, a lot of people must have died here." Where a guide we had responded that all these tombstones where people who had died in floods, which this area was wellknown for.

We got to one of these islands (for some reason, people had nothing against living among these giganto-tombstones, blech) and while my sister and I went to work on illustrating the story, it began to rain. And it not just rained, it *stormed*!!

We both figured it was soon time to stop, and it was *still* raining, and looking at a clock I saw it was midnight, when we both heard this weird flushing, thundering noise. We look out the window, and.. geez, a *huge* amount of coffins appear.. and they are all *boatshaped*.

Apparently, the floods are so bad in this area, that all graves keep getting flushed out (kinda like that CSI: Miami episode with the tsunami) and so the locals (according to our guide yet again), decided to make things fit the environment. So yeah.. boatshaped coffins.

No, I have no idea what the hell I was on.

collie_wing @ 01:06 pm: This one is a little long and a lot strange
So this dream is really really strange and all that good stuff. [info]birdzilla was in it, as well as [info]twilightsocks's cat, Bear, but the way Bear appears in the Catena comic. Also in my dream was this weird peasant dude who looked something like David Ogden Stiers and a bunch of other people who I recognized in my dream but I can't really identify out of it.

The dream all starts on a dark stormy day outside of this creepy house... )

So is that REALLY how you play that game?

ellison @ 02:58 am: Goats loose
I dreamt that I was just walking along the sidwalk and a sheep was following me. After I woke up, I realized I was dreaming about Chutney (from my last job at the children's zoo), but I didn't think about it while I was still in the dream. Then there were a few more. I was just walking in a random neighborhood, grassy area beside me, and sheep trailing behind me. I crossed the street and somehow, there was a large crowd of people in this bustling town, most of them carrying purses and even little bags of popcorn. I saw some sheep beelining right for them and started trying to say loudly, "Hey, look out, don't let the sheep eat your popcorn!" Not for their sake, of course, but the sheeps'! Then some sweet little boy held out some small square looking snacks, like crackers, but they were cube shaped. He said, "Can the sheep eat these?" And I said, "Aw, no, they can't, but it's good you asked. They should be eating their own food and hay and grass.."

That's all I remember. Me with a random sheep herd in the middle of a busy little town!

It made me happy. I like dreaming about the animals I used to work with, that they're a part of my life, my brain, and my subconscious now.

Oh, the dream also turned into me being in band. I used to only dream of Band as my "thing from the past that I dream of." But now the zoo is on that list. And now they were both in one dream!

I can't wait for the day the zoo animals are also in the band room with me. It's bound to happen!

birdzilla @ 08:27 am: WTF... brain. Just WTF.
So I had three interconnected dreams last night. In fact, they were so interconnected that I've been thinking of them as phases of one dream, rather than three separate ones. This dream also featured several fictional (video game) characters, which is pretty rare for me. And [info]inactivism, which is not quite so rare! But anyway, it was weird.

I don't have much time before class, so I'll try to make this quick. )

ks_claw @ 07:48 am: Labyrinth dream
So I had one of the more stranger and slightly sadder dreams last night.. it all focused on Sara from Labyrinth, who had somehow gotten into Jareths universe. Not just the Labyrinth, but an entire *realm*, meaning there where other places to travel to. I'll get to that.

Thing was, that Sara had moved with her family to a house in a different place, a place where magic of any kind is unwittingly strong.. Kind of like a Faerie ring. And she could move from one to the other as she pleased, mostly to visit her old friends (Ludo etc) and new friends (some looked like something out of The Neverending Story, which doesn't surprise me).

But Jareth was still in love with her. Desperately. the dangerous kind of "in love". Which resulted in that he pulled one of the more stupid, dangerous stunts he probably ever pulled..

See, both he and Sara had this crystal. She just used hers to wish herself back and forth. hers was a deep emerald color. Jareths was gold-yellow, and as it turned out, quite dangerous. What he did, was to scratch the surface of the mirror that Sara used to transport herself with, before he wished that she would stay with him as a mortal man forever and never be able to return home. I know he meant to just have the mirror and her crystal ruined so that she couldn't return home. But it turns out that his own jewel was like the Shikon No Tama, and so many other devices you wish with. You need to be careful and specific. Jareth said she would never be able to return home. He didn't say the home had to still be there... And it turns out the crystal was powerful enough to destroy Saras world.

It was so heartbreaking, when Sara found out. She stood there frozen, while a new friend of hers (here I think I was inspired by Pika-Le-Cynqies comics) who looked alot like that guy from Les Miserable.

He told her the facts about both crystals and how Jareth had used them. and Jareth was nothing but a pathetic shell now himself, with all his powers taken away. He couldn't even turn into an owl =/ and Sara screamed furiously at him, calling him a selfish bastard before she turned and ran. Jareth tried to follow, but she lost him in what looked like some sort of mall (the only fun point in the dream to be honest. sara had earlier been in a carnival and was wearing shoes with small bells, and when she came running, people apparently took it as a sign that there was a major sale in the department she passed through and came running in a mob).

Sara then just unhappily sat in the street, just.. not knowing what to do. An old goblin lady asked her what was wrong and Sara told her, and the goblin asked her why she didn't just wish herself away, since she still had her own crystal (even though it was shattered, it still held a bit of power). Sara decided that far away was better than this place and wished herself away, and like Dorothy in Oz, she was taken by a twister who did as she wished. Carried her far away. It put her on the edge of a forest where there was a view to a cliff, where very disturbingly you could see The Nothing looming in the distance. Sara wasn't afraid because she didn't know what it was, and when walking down a path, she came to a small cabin. There, she met with 2 cats and a boy, who turned out to be Bastian (again Neverending Story). The dream ended, right after the dark wolf Gemorg(SP?) had tried to kill them, but they survived by managing to get him in a stranglehold and just squeezed and squeezed and squeezed until the thing was no more.

And yeah, then I woke up.

ellison @ 01:40 am: Tigers
I was walking around a large shop, but it was also kind of like a ski lodge. I was talking to my co-worker John who was about to get married to his lovely fiancee, Stephanie (in real life, John is already married to someone named Ellen). He kept handing me banana bread that I stuck in the front pocket of my hoodie to keep as snacks for the animals (John and I worked together at a zoo, it's natural to keep goat food in your pockets for the goats, NOT people food, but I digress...). A dog kept following me around so I fed him some banana bread, and then he started choking on it, coughing a lot and it made me nervous so I decided to walk away and not feed him anymore. I started talking to Stephanie who was washing dishes and realized she was actually Maori and had bright blue tattooed lines all over her face. Then as I passed the front of the shop, I could see that right there on the lawn, some people were talking and letting their young tigers play.

"Ugh!" I said, rolling my eyes. "Why do people have to bring their pets here??"

I was more annoyed than anything else. Like, GOD tigers again, what is up with people and their manners? Rather than, holy shit, tigers are loose, run for your lives!

So strange.

ks_claw @ 11:17 am: okay... One of few times I'm glad I was only the 'audience' in this dream..

So there was this spacestation, and I didn't know it was, until I looked out of a window that was turned off, as if you could see the stars instead of a skyline. Kind of like in the first RE movie in "the hive". And everything was quiet.. too quiet. And then, it turns out that a bunch of "Enraged" people where trapped in the cafeteria, and all hell broke loose when a survivor accidently opened the locks. The entire spacestation turned out to be a new experimental place to check out the Rage Virus from 28 days later, and like I said.. well, I'm just glad I was only the 'audience' in the dream, because mostly it was like in the movie and "rage" victims where running around, snarling and growling or spitting blood, and tearing into whatever survivor they found.

I don't even know if there was a way off the spacestation.. I think it was made with no escape pods, exactly for crappy situations like that.. I remember there was one scene where a "Rage" victim accidently got into an airlock (for back when they first arrived I think. It was the only airlock there was) and the mechanism was activated and.... Well, I won't give detailed description, but if you've seen Alien 4, you can guess.

So yes. Blech.

ks_claw @ 10:15 am: Weirdest dream EVER
So yeah. large bit of a WTF dream x_X

Has anyone ever had a dream that just seemed so incredibly real, that you're almost shocked when you wake up? I had such a dream last night.

It all started like a typical dream! I was in a fantasy-scape, running around like something that looked like a Kingdom Hearts scenario (a mix 'tween the Beasts' castle and Twilight Town), and you had 2 options: Go east, you go into a garden with an enchanted fountain. Go west, and you face a tornado x_X I went and tried both. Can't remember what the fountain did, but the tornado flung me far off into some mountainrange..

Then I think I had one of those "waking up inside a dream" moments, and my mom was lying next to me in bed, asking me how I'm feeling. I tell her I feel fine, which is odd because a) for some oddball reason I'm naked o_O and b) we're in a hospital.

The latter, I soon find out, is because I turn out to have given birth (O__o;;) and a nurse came in with a baby boy, asking me if I would like to nurse him, and if not she can get him a bottle instead. I tell her to just give him to me, and..well, TMI, but I feed him with no problems.. and it just feels so oddly *natural*.. As in, it didn't feel like a dream.

Then I ask my mom "when did this happen?" and she says "Well, you went into labor and then you where out for half an hour." and all the while I sit, trying to figure out just when the hell I was pregnant in the first place.. For not to mention the fact, that I don't remember being in labor, and thats kind of necessary too, right?

The oddest (and slightly creepiest) thing is, when I woke up I actually expected to be fully pregnant, huge belly and all o_o;

I think it might have something to do with, that alot of people I know of are either pregnant or have just had a baby. I have no idea x_X

tageera @ 02:38 pm: Om Nom Nom, Duracell!
I dreampt last night that I went to an amusement park, and because our cameras or sommin were dead, my friend Brooke and I went to the park's hardware store to get some D batteries. They were Duracells, yanno the kind with the copper top? Well I guess I decided I was hungry, so I started… eating them. O_o; The copper part came away from the black part very easily, as if it were made to, and there was a metal plate dividing the sections to keep the acid from leaking out. I had eaten about a half a package of these batteries when Brooke pointed out that the package was $11! And I had no money! It was determined that I was doomed, unless I put the batteries back in the package… but then it would be half empty because the other half was in my stomach!

I woke up feeling guilty for stealing batteries. :(

a_real_hermit @ 01:25 pm: Rush Limbaugh's Wet Dream
In a dream, I was watching Bill Maher on TV. He was saying something, and then all the sudden some guy from the audience walked into camera view. The newcomer was in his 50s, overall thin, but with a protruding belly. In the dream, I recalled a real life event where Maher's show (which is broadcast live) was interrupted by crazy protesters (the protesters believe a secret organization of firemen destroyed the World Trade Center). The newcomer said "Charles?!! <garbled>" and then grabbed Maher around the neck. Three burly security guards appeared, and threw the newcomer to the ground. Maher grabbed at this throat with both hands, as if he was choking. At first, I thought his throat was sore from being grabbed; but suddenly, blood started spurting from Maher's neck, and I realized he had been stabbed.

At this point, the camera zoomed in on Maher's face. I saw Bill Maher's face contort with agony. I had the feeling Maher was being a showman to the last, and wanted his death throes displayed to the world. Suddenly, the camera pulled back, and I saw Maher spread-eagle on the ground, lying in a pool of his own blood. Then I woke up.

Not the best dream, or the most interesting... but I so rarely have coherent dreams that I remember, that I decided to write it down :)

cheesentoast @ 09:01 am: I was in a largish hostel with some of my former college roommates bedding down for the night. We’d gotten all face washed and ‘jammied and in bed. For some reason I got up and went to the catwalk that surrounded the dining/meeting hall area which was only dimly lit from the lights outside shining in the windows. On the walk way were 3 women. One was a sort of new-agey shaman type girl. One was a goth looking heavily made up fanged vampire and one was a normal, if some what stern looking girl who I some how knew was an angel. The shaman girl was freaking out and talking fast. She hadn’t really believed that there were vampires and obviously her little world was fast crashing down around her ears as she tried to figure out what else she’d only played with was really true. The angel had the vampire restrained and had come to take her into custody.

The angel was getting annoyed with the shaman girl, who wouldn’t quit talking, and turned to her to shut her up; which was the chance the vampire apparently had been waiting for. The vampire lunged at the shaman girl, wide eyed, fanged out, going for the throat. The angel intervened between the two of them and the vampire burst into a cloud of bats. The shaman girl panicked further, screaming and flailing at the bats.

The angel, at this point, began to glow with wings and dark eyes and a huge sword. (Looking something like this.) She stabbed the cloud of bats in the center and they collapsed back into the vampire girl who fell to the floor, a sword through her stomach. Quickly her body dissolved into a pile of black dust.

The angel was checking the shaman girl to make sure she was ok and no one but me saw that the dust was turning into a bunch of huge black spiders! One of them came straight for me and I ran back to through the door to the sleeping quarters. I snatched up the computer memory chip that was on the table, which had been the vampire’s original goal this entire time. To keep it as safe as possible I put it in my mouth. It cut my tongue just as the angel showed up and stabbed the spider.

I gave her the memory chip and it cut her hand. The angel said that it was really the memory chip which was the greatest evil and it hurt everyone it came into contact with.

My roommates had slept through the entire episode. (And then I woke up.)

collie_wing @ 12:17 am: Waterfowl....
I had a dream the other night that my friend Kate was on a reality show about building the most realistic looking waterfowl. The show took place on the banks of a river, and the judge for the waterfowl was 50 Cent. Kate was worried that her swan (she had built a swan) would look too tacky because it moved its head back and forth. Then, all of a sudden the show wasn't about who could build the best bird, it was who could build the best home for their fake bird.

It was really, really strange...

cheesentoast @ 12:25 pm: I was inspired by [info]tageera to post my wacky dream too. :)

I've been watching Carnivale on DVD lately. (I'm making up for the years I didn't have a TV by utilizing NetFlix.) Carnivale is set in the Great Depression and touches on a lot of formerly middle class families impacted by drought and famine. This dream also has some vague aspects of The Handmaid's Tale, which I've read but haven't seen the movie. For some reason the story's always stuck with me.

The dream opened with a group of masked suburban middle-aged yuppie men returning home after having raided the near-by cul de-sacs and neighboring houses and garages. (Oddly enough, this is not the first time my dreams have started this way.) They went into the back yard of a house that was owned by one of them; examining their haul on the wooden deck in the warm, normal looking glow of electric lights that came from the interior of the house through the sliding glass doors. There was the usual middle class detritus on the deck, kid's bicycles, a kiddie pool, potted plants. The loot the men had gathered consisted of a few wilted carrots, some cabbages and some canned goods. It seemed that they had been taken from houses in the neighborhood that had been abandoned. There was a famine and horrible things happening, but they were trying their best to continue along with life as normal.
