More Dinosaurs DVDs, and some bad tail-fu

A shout out to a very quiet community of tailsters to remind you all that Dinosaurs Series 3 and 4 is out on DVD.

Speaking of dinosaurs, there is some remarkably bad tail-fu by a baby T-rex towards the end of this video. It nearly takes poor old Bruce Spence's head off. Three times even.

Custom Tail Commissions!!

I am taking up to 3 custom tail commissions as of right now! Here are examples of my work:

My prices are as follows:

$15- Small tail (ie. rabbits, deers, etc.), up to 2 different colors
$30- Canine or feline tail, up to two differnet colors
$35- Fox tail, up to two different colors
$40- Canine or feline tail, up to 3 colors or up to 2 colors with a wire armature
$45 and up- Larger animals with more complex tails. (For example, a standard raccoon tail will be $55 due to the stripes and its length.)
--Add $10 for airbrushed patterns

I also have material to make scaley tails of all different kinds!

I can also make many other types of fursuit pieces (anything but heads), so contact me if you want paws or armsleeves as well!

There is also an option to send me your own fur to work with. This will lower the price drastically. Contact me for details on this as well.

Shipping is a flat rate of $7, unless you have a tail that is of a larger species (i.e. raccoons, squirrels, skunks, etc.) or have a chain spine (due to added weight). Buyer pays full shipping cost.

Dinosaurs, Seasons 3 and 4

Since the TV show Dinosaurs is a potential inspiration to practitioners of tail fu everywhere, being as it tackled the subject of tail fu head on in its episode about Charlene growing her tail as well as providing some sterling examples of tail fu here and there in amongst other episodes, i declare a heads up that the rest of the show is being released on DVD in May. Series 1 and 2 are already on DVD.

fallimar and i decided it would be a good idea to start a group on the topic of tail fu, for tail fu is a good and nifty thing. So here it is.

The topic is tails, but not just any tails: tails one can make use of as an extra limb. This naturally predicates that the tails in question are more functional than socks made of fur and stuffed with silicone filling. They might be larger and heavier so as to better impart the necessary force to make them useful, articulated so as to flex better, or even animatronic and prehensile for super-usefulness.

How you use this extra limb is entirely the topic of this group, and to this end there shall be postings of video, photographs, designs, diagrams and general ideas. You're welcome to post everything from ideas about novel sports (i've got an idea for tail golf i want to work on) to how to turn around without causing an arc of destruction in your wake. It's all fair game, though if you must post something adult please pop it behind an lj-cut with text indicating so.

The scope of interested parties will no doubt include most furries as well as more playful transhumanists, but anyone who thinks functional tails on human beings is an idea they can get creative about is welcome to contribute.
