Welcome to the LJ Community!
Welcome!
I would imagine some of you viewing this are new to LiveJournal, and others are just new to this community.
If you are new to LiveJournal, welcome! It is a blogging tool that makes it easy for you to create an online journal. You can set up a free account, which will give you your own journal. You can also add other people as friends (and they can add you as friends), which makes it easy to see the blogs of friends. There's a good FAQ about Livejournal at
http://www.livejournal.com/support/faq.bml .
Your first step in participating is to create an account, which you can do at
https://www.livejournal.com/create.bmlAfter doing this, you can post information into your blog ("Update") and begin to build your friends lists.
Now, once you've created an account, you can join this community. To do this, visit the syrlibsci's community info page at
http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=syrlibsciand click on the "To join this community, Click Here" link.
Once you are a member:
- You can post directly to the community's blog (as compared to your own blog) by using the little blue pencil icon on the community info page (link above).
- You can view a compiled blog of all of the members of the syrlibsci community by visiting
the community blog at
http://www.livejournal.com/community/syrlibsci/ and choosing Friends.
- Other members of the community will see you and that you are a member and can then add you as a friend.
Each additional member of the community will add another slice of life to the syrlibsci world. The goal of this community is to make it easier for current students to meet alums, alums to keep up with each other and what's going on at SU, and faculty members to talk with everyone. Monitor this community to learn where faculty members will be and where you can go to meet other SU folks!
Welcome!
