*cough* Okay. As you all know, my names Escuro. I'll be posting now on the behalf of my friend [info]yume_no_hikari.

She's very upset over the whole mess that has circulated over a flame for her story 'Paper Cut'. A flame is a flame people. Like most, authors tend to ignore and not make a huge deal out of them. She appreciates the fact that so many of you stood up for her story against the said flamer but she really doesn't care about the flame.

The arguments that have sprouted in the previous post have worried her and she'd just like to say that it's not that big a deal and that we can all forget it ever happened. *cough* Thanks for taking the time to read this. Yume-chan shall appreciate it if the drama ceases.

DEAR GOD, YES. Flames are flames, people, they happen every day. All this has done is create unnecessary hostility and general bad feelings.

I vote for the deletion of [info]symphonia_sock's post and the return of our focus to the slashy goodness. :D

Please have Yume read the last post in the other thread. The flame was never directed at Paper Cut, but rather was intended to defend it from unnecessarily harsh and disrespectful snark it was receiving elsewhere.

i know it wasn't directed at me or my story. I just.... today has been really.... dramatic. I just want to forget all of this. I appreciate your defense of my fic; I'm very grateful, in fact that you liked it so much to go to that extreme! It's just... the post created so many bad feelings between people. And.... that's not the purpose of this group. We're supposed to be friends b/c we can relate to each other where others could not. And I just think that the post itself has created harsh feelings in everyone where they shouldn't have been.

Deleting the post would be highly hypocritical of me, as it would involve me taking an action that I loudly criticized another person for doing. I'm sorry, but I simply cannot do that.

You are, however, free to steal my icon if you like. I at least owe you that much.

And I sincerely hope that none of this has discouraged you from writing and sharing your fanfiction in the future. Your writing style is very good, and your Zelos characterization is the closest to canon I've ever seen in this fandom.

She knows the flame was never aimed at Paper Cut. Obviously. Are you listening to a word she says?

The fact is, she hates that her fic has caused this drama. She didn't give a shit that Vyc was complaining about it in her own livejournal. She didn't want any tension between Vyctori and herself at all. You cause drama, you got feeling out of line.

The funny thing is, it's all because you're a little hurt that your review on her fic didn't get accepted with open arms! And you know what? I don't blame her. Not one bit. There's a difference between concrit and patronizing, and you were most definitely patronizing. I knew Vyc 'professionally' long before I knew her personally, and one of the things that she's best at is accepting constructive crit. I know this, because I'm a pretty harsh reviewer.

If, in the 1% chance that you aren't Octavia, I am amazed and offer my apologies, but, seriously, I still think that you need to do and die somewhere. Forget that I know Vyc. Totally forget it. I could care less if she were my worst enemy. You were childish, out of line, and petty. You brought drama into a place where both the reviewer and the writer didn't want it, and now both want you to fuck off. The writer's just too nice to say it that way.

So will you kindly respect both their wishes?

That isn't Octavia, I am. As IPs are not enabled I can't prove that, but I assure you we're two separate people. And my review was intentionally patronizing. It was a mirror of her own attitude, and intended to provoke the response it did. The drama over here is nothing to do with that. I wouldn't freak because a deliberately provocative review provoked. Why would I?

Frankly, if you want to cut the drama ratio, (which I heartily agree would be a very good idea) maybe you shouldn't post as you just did, angry or not. Because this looks to have got really out of hand already, and even with the best possible intent, adding more fuel to the fire won't help. Anyone.

This just my two-cents and I don't know what the heck is going on.

This is the problem with the concept of constructive criticism, people don't criticize the fic nor the writing, they criticize the writer as a person. Also another problem is that people waste too much time bitching and little time to mass produce yaoi fics.

Creativity has vanished up in smoke. Imagination wasn't worth a damn anymore.

So yeah in short, let your plot bunnies reproduce more plot bunnies.

yeah...very true jujang. As a art major...there is always the clash between the "constructive" criticism..and criticizing the actual artist. Contructive criticism is meant to tell the person WHAT SHE CAN IMPROVE ON..not to degrade.

but oh well....some humans just don't get it

I just recently had an experiance similar to this when I posted one of my fics over at a group. Somebody left a comment about an error that I made in grammer and it turned into a huge posting war. (the word 'blond' vs. 'blonde', just in case you were curious, lol) It didn't get quite as out of hand as this, but still. At some point it stops being about the fic and just turns into a clashing of personalitys/ego. So in short Yume, don't feel bad about this, it was not your fault. You did the right thing by pretty much staying out of it.
