Basic Info AboutThis community has been set up to provide a discussion forum for the Goths of Sydney, Australia. Posts on topics as diverse as gatherings, clubs and events to music, book and movie reviews to discussions on politics and philosophy are welcomed and encouraged. We seek to build a forum where it is possible to conduct intelligent discussion and reasoned debate, in amongst less weighty matters.
This journal is publicly accessible. It can be viewed by anyone, including minors, and people often read LJ from work. We are also bound to adhere to the LJ TOS regarding acceptable content. So we are going to hold this community to a "work-safe" standard, based on workplaces where employees are allowed to browse the web relatively freely. All this requires is a little consideration for your readers:
Linking to non-work-safe content is OK so long as there is clear warning with the link.
If discussing "mature" or "adult" themes, please put these behind a clearly-labelled LJ-cut.
Using this community to just direct people to existing posts in personal journals or other communities is fine (after all, there is no need to duplicate an interesting discussion).
This journal is, above all, a place where people can expect to have intelligent, reasoned debates and discussions. Flamewars that get out of control will have the offending thread(s) terminated.
Please do not post about eBay auctions here. There are plenty of other communities around for that.
If posting event fliers, please put them under an lj-cut. This community is primarily for discussion, not advertising.
If you feel the need to prove how Goth or hard-core you are or feel the need to "shake things up a bit", please don't bother. Work out your insecurities in your own time.
