Wow.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Edit: People, chill. I understand that the members here are straight edge and I realize that may or may not influence your opinion pertaining to the article. I just want to hear everyones thoughts on this new policy. No need to get bent out of shape, K?

it doesn't really bother me

the countries with some of the most lax drug laws are usually the ones with the least problems. look at germany and alcohol or netherlands and marijuana. they don't have rampant drug problems like america does. i think part of it is that the 'forbidden fruit' concept makes it all that much more alluring.

when handled in moderation, i think we should leave drug users alone and concentrate on more important issues. if someone sits at home and smokes a joint, i don't think that should be taking up a huge amount of law enforcement time/priority. we should go for the dealers and traffickers, the murderers, rapists, environmentally destructive companies, etc.

i quite expect that a lot of people in this group will hate this opinion. oh well.

but at the same time, they have less problems.
i'm going there this spring when i travel around europe with a friend. but i know enough about it from the people i do know that have been there and reading i've done. it's prevalent, yes, but they also don't seem to have a lot of underground dealers, chronic addictions, etc that seem so rampant in america.

Just because you're straight edge doesn't make you better than anyone. It doesn't give you the right to judge.

Wow so they legalized a bit of marijuana. OMFG! WOW! DOWN THE CRAPPER GOES THE WORLD!

And when or where did I say that? Way to jump to conclusions. I simply posted this to provoke discussion among the users in this community.

last time I checked this was a straight edge community, so because this is a community made for us we do have a right to judge whats going on. in a drug addict community you have the same right.

it doesn't do anything. marajuana is still illegal. because if you get picked up with it in the city of Denver... it's still a federal offense.

Federal laws trump Local laws

it's a neat way to catch pot heads in the act though

"Safer Alternatives For Enjoyable Recreation"

haha! i don't even know HOW to respond to that "group", OR that article.

there's this young guy running for mayor here in rochester, ny, and i was watching him on the news, and the reporter asked him some random question, and he somehow managed to twist it all around into a drug issue, and went on and on about how marijuana needs to be legalized, and then my girlfriend realized he was wearing a massive hemp necklace and frankly i thought that was hilarious. just a random story i thought i'd add.

I guess its a good thing. Maybe there'Ll be less problems now that it's legal. There are a helluva a lot more important things than drugs to be concerned with.

all it does is make it so people don't get busted locally they get busted on the state level, which is worse. I personally think all cities should adopt the laws of their particular state, but thats just me.

This opinion may be a little late, but I personally think the whole world would be better off if marijuana were legalized, and alcohol abolished.
