A little update.
Hello lovely people. Just a quick update to let you know that Swarf are not dead...yet. We have been hit by a series of personal tragedies and illness and it has made things difficult to be that active. However, new songs *are* afoot and we have already recorded some of them! All we need now are some nice new gigs to get us back on the road. I am writing lyrics and tunes like they are going out of fashion and what else? We have played a few local festies in the last year that we enjoyed being part of. Still, hopefully, onwards and upwards...watch this space. |

Update
Hello! We are still alive, here at Swarf HQ. I just thought I should pop by and let you know that we haven't disappeared entirely and plan to grace your lugholes with new material very soon. Basically, one of the Swarf boys lost both parents to cancer within the space of ten months last year. The whole process was utterly devastating and took precedent over any Swarfing we had planned. We have been quiet for such a long time now, due to this and other unpleasant incidents, so we have a lot of work ahead of us to get back up and beyond where we were. Rest assured that we plan to do just that and have plenty more treats in store for those who are up for them! Watch this space.... |

Live from the Albert! (#1 Zandalee)
du Pre divisionThey're good in parts, but somehow the whole thing doesn't hang together. What are they for? Piece by piece they're great. Two distant-looking female singers with the perfectly coiffed indifference of Human League. A frontman with Michael Stipe's hair. Guitars! (anathema in this lj!) Even a cello. It just doesn't work though. They kick off with some tex-mex-tarantino soudtrack that's sort of OK. When they hit the New Order song it even almost works. If only the keyboard had the right sense of estrangement that the girls do only too well. The blonde cellist looks so disinterested we feel almost sorry for her. Not bad, we love the people, but the gig never really flies. The Albert has lighting design by Jerry Cornelius' dad and Lemmy. Flashy stuff pointed straight into my eyes. |

Swarf news.
It looks like plans might be afoot to release our next Swarf stuff as a digital single bundle. (4 songs plus extras) in a bid to get into the UK singles charts. Won't be until late Autumn, although DJs will get promos long before then, to start the publicity ball rolling! There will be lots more Swarf news from now on, as things progress, so we'll keep you posted! Attention DJs and promoters!
If you are a DJ, podcaster, promoter, etc, Swarf will soon be releasing an internet only single comprising of two brand new tracks and two remixes.
If you want access to the two new tracks either via a CD sent or a passcode to a download, now is the time to come forward and ask, stating what you do and what you will use them for. The two new songs will be given freely to all those who wish to use them for their shows/programmes/magazines etc.

I think Dingbat and all the people who campaigned to keep Swarf on Wiki are to be hugged and nuzzled profusely by me. This completely passed me by as we have not been taking much active part on watching out for ourselves on the net. We have been too busy trying to get our new album finished and basically making music for you all! I am touched beyond measure to think that there are people out there who really do care about us and the work we do. We hope that the wait will be worth it as we continue to unleash more songs upon you. It looks increasingly likely that most of them will be released as torrents rather than as solid CDs as we believe this is the future and we like to be one step ahead, now matter how slowly we take those steps! Again, bless your hearts, you lovely people who took the time out to do this for us without our even knowing! |
