Links for 'other' vids
Just a quick 'intro' thingie.

I've done vids for HBO's Oz, which my interest in the series and vidding started at the same time, LOTR, LOTR RPS (yep, actor slash), Harry Potter, and I 'heart' Michael Rosenbaum in drag. Thanks to Rosenbaum I got interested in Smallville. Also, my previous post referenced not having enough time to vid but I did complete two MR vids in September 2005 because they were 'quickies' in both prep work and editing.

Since these vids were last posted in September, they've undergone some revisions:
Wild Wild West (13.2megs) by the Escape Club (Michael Rosenbaum in drag = love) is a Sorority Boys vid with a small CLex scene tossed in.

Power Plant (14.7megs) by DJ Tomcraft uses Rave MacBeth (Michael Rosenbaum covered in blood again = scary) and it was awkward finding the audio file.

A couple Harry Potter vids I'm fond of (and because I don't have a 'song vid' page per se that has all the links):

Mad World (4.7megs) by Gary Jules since it helped me get a free HP book during a contest (woot! on freebies).

And Mummers' Dance (5.1megs - higher quality video Divx file is 23.1megs) by Loreena McKennitt because it was a 'pretty' vid and pretty much pain in the butt too because it was effects heavy and had six video tracks going at the same time.

Mummers' Dance uses one of the effects I'll be utilizing in the Clark/Lex vid, Breathe Me, but it got buried under the layers of video in the HP vid.

Oh my God how much do I adore Wild Wild West? There are no words, that was absolutely brilliant. I've always thought more people should make videos out of that movie and you have done a wonderful job, thanks so much for sharing.

I can't wait to see your finished product of Breathe Me.

PS. I *still* haven't managed to see Rave MacBeth but your video makes me wantt o see it even more.

Sorority Boys is a fun film and you're right... there should be more vids to that movie. {g}

Rave MacBeth was such a visually interesting movie. Oh, I noticed a 'blip' in one scene on Sunday night and uploaded a new version of the Rave MacBeth vid to correct it. The original avi vid didn't have it, but when the vid was encoded to wmv format, the blip popped up.

Thanks for commenting!

Re: Rave Macbeth.

See it, see it, see it, see it!

Do you have a DVD player on your computer? Cause if you do, I could try to burn my copy, which will only work on my parents DVD player.

I freakin' LOVED IT. A lot of people didn't, but I'm enthralled with Shakespeare, and even th ough it wasn't in Shakespearean language, I was fascinated by how seamlessly they took that story and stuck it in modern times.

Sorry for hijacking your post, [info]redina, but I had to tell her to see it. I commented on the vids down there.

Wild Wild West I must have rewound about five million times. Me and [info]feliz581 were both watching it and talking over IM about how good it was, and how we had to rewind it and watch it again.

And my GOD, Power Plant, the Rave Macbeth one, is SOOOOOOOOO unbelievably good. You did a really nice job witht he editing and the scenage and choices and song (that song was actually IN the movie, wasn't it?)

Anyway. Wonderful job on both of those.

Thanks for the comments! No prob on 'hijacking' the thread. {g}

that song was actually IN the movie, wasn't it?

Hm, that's a good question. I know it appeared in the German extras but not so sure it appeared in the movie.

Eek! Hm, I'll give advance warning those were vids I had done as a beginner *years* ago and the video codecs are very outdated. Hopefully, I've improved since then.

On the lefthand navigation sidebar, there's a link for 'music vids'.

Ooh actually I've watched them! I remember trying to figure out the codecs, because they played without sound, and my friend helped me out *g*

I loved Sweet Surrender!

I love your MR vids. They're great. Everything about Wild Wild West is so much fun - the song, the clips. Excellent job with matching the clips to the music and it's a fast song so I imagine it couldn't have been all that easy.

And Rave Macbeth is a very pretty movie, isn't it? My version isn't too great (but it's watchable and that's all that counts!) so it was a real treat to see this one. I wonder why they never released the movie in the United States.

I *loved* Sorority Boys. Cheesy, most definitely, but... I have the hugest Adina crush. {g} Rosenbaum cracks me up. Pity the movie didn't do better at the box office. I've seen a convention interview where MR does admit to having fun on that movie but his demeanor was resigned to its failure in the theaters and later VHS marketing. To some fans, Sorority Boys is a 'cult classic'. In the words of a MasterCard commercial, "Priceless". ;-)

And Rave Macbeth is a very pretty movie, isn't it?

Aye, I keep saying this but it's true: Rave MacBeth is such 'eye candy' with the color, energy and movement, and camera work. I'm rather surprised MR wasn't fond of this movie, which I read somewhere. C'mon, he's the leading actor in the movie (e.g. first in the opening actor credits). {g}

I wonder why they never released the movie in the United States.

Sorry you couldn't find a clearer copy. I had a spare Rave MacBeth DVD but another gal already has dibs on it. Dunno why no US distributor but at least it's easier to find than some of MR's other work. :-\

Oh, I do have a new MR vid at http://community.livejournal.com/denialcorp/170350.html Simply a fun vid for an 80s challenge.

I have the hugest Adina crush.

Adina was sooo the prettiest and cutest of the three. I crushed on her as well.

Pity the movie didn't do better at the box office.

Yup, it was a real shame. It was a lot funnier/clever than I expected it to be. Not nearly as horrid as some of the better grossing comedies I've seen.

I've wondered why MR doesn't like Rave Macbeth as well. It's an interesting Shakespeare experiment that works better as a movie in it's own right than a strict adaptation, but at least it was innovative and the acting was good. Totally nothing to be ashamed of. Cursed, on the other hand, he can disown. :)

Dunno why no US distributor but at least it's easier to find than some of MR's other work. :-\

Geez...yeah. I'm all acurious over Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane and Eyeball Eddie but I can't seem to get a hold of them anywhere. I saw your new vid (I promise to give a longer comment on it later) and it looks like you've seen lots of his work. Mind if I chat with you about MR stuff? I can take it to email.

:-) No argument.

It was a lot funnier/clever than I expected it to be.

Aye, I think that was one roadblock because each viewer had different expectations. Truthfully, I don't even remember this movie back in 2002. :-\ My curiosity about Rosenbaum's other works made me rent the movie... and it was Adina love. {g}

It's an interesting Shakespeare experiment that works better as a movie in it's own right than a strict adaptation, but at least it was innovative and the acting was good. Totally nothing to be ashamed of.

Agreed. Those very familiar with MacBeth have commented the modern adaptation from the original Shakespearean play strangely works... Well, yeah, MacBeth is a rather 'timeless' tale too. {g}

Cursed, on the other hand, he can disown. :)

{chuckle} As much as MR disses his Adam wig in Sorority Boys, I thought that wig a cute 'Hobbit' style. However, the Cursed wig... IMHO, worst evah! ;-) Regardless, Rosenbaum likes his horror movies and working with Wes Craven probably appealed to him.

looks like you've seen lots of his work.

Not really 'lots'. {g} Thanks to various fans, I did get to see a good portion of his filmwork.

Mind if I chat with you about MR stuff? I can take it to email.

No prob on chatting about MR here, which we're the only two folk getting notifications in this LJ thread at this point, or over email, which I'm 'bunniqula' at GMail.
