| About: | OOC Greeting: This community was developed for IC roleplay in conjunction with >lj user="deadmanwade">'s tabletop Aberrant game. Anyone playing in that game is welcome to join and post. All others are requested to lurk only. IC Greeting: Greetings fellow Novas. If you have found your way to this place then you are welcome. I imagine that many who find this place will scoff, or will wonder what my ulterior motive is. My only motive is to establish community and communication, and to offer a resource whereby newly errupted Novas can aid each other in coming to terms with their new gifts and challenges without having to register with any agency or go to any facility. I once knew a girl who was a runaway. She told me of a resource called the Runaways Journal, which was a collection of writings by other runaways, scattered in multiple locales. The writings contained suggestions for how to survive, how to avoid being caught and turned over to the police or child services, who could be trusted to help and who couldn't, fears and success stories, etc. It was the record for a frightened and scattered people. The Journal had only two rules. First, no real names or known nicknames were used, and writers were supposed to keep personal details to a minimum to prevent recapture should a Journal be found. Second, the Journal was neutral territory. In the world of runaway teens, us-against-them sometimes included your fellow runaways as enemies. In the Journal, everyone was just trying to help each other survive. Our situation is very different from that of those children, but I think that we may learn from their wisdom. I have expended every effort to make sure that this resource cannot be hacked or traced, but nothing is foolproof. I ask that everyone who accesses this resource use it in the spirit which it intended. After all, surely the most super-powered humans in history can manage to behave themselves with as much grace as homeless children. I hope that you will prove me right. M. | ||
