Well another month has flow by and its time for a new NJC song to inspire you in your writing. This month we have slowed things down and gone with a very emotional song with an inspiring video to go with it. The song is Eden by Hooverphonic.
The usual rules apply:
1. No songfics
2. Any pairings or situations can be used
3. Tell us a little about why you wrote what you did
BUT this month we're thowing something extra into the challenge. Because the video is so beautiful, we'd also like you to tell us what your favourite image is.
Oh, and make sure you write October NJC in your summary so your story can be archived in our community on fanfiction.net.
Good luck with your writing - Niah and I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I am a self confessed Foo Fighters fan and love all their music. I was, however, shocked to discover something about the band and our favourite TV show that I had not picked up on before. One of the bands' early singles was a song called "Big Me", released in 1996. If you listen carefully to this song and then watch the bar dancing scene in the Bones episode "The Man in the Bear" you may recognise the song Booth and Brennan are dancing to - yes, it's a cover version of the Foo Fighters song "Big Me". You have no idea how surprised I was to hear this especially since this month's NJC challenge was also a Foo Fighters song.
Just for fun, I've put the youtube video for "Big Me" by the Foo Fighters on this post. Enjoy!
Well its been a while since
niah1988and I posted a story for our partnership but we're back and we have a brand new story for you called Eight Legged Houseman. I don't want to spoil the plot but suffice to say its a little bit humour, a little bit friendship and just a little bit fluff. Go ahead and click the link below to take you straight to the story. We hope you enjoy it!
Title: Eight Legged Houseman
Genre: Humour/Friendship
Rating: Fiction Rated K+
Summary: [The Streaking Series - Part Two] When Brennan goes over to Booth's place, she comes close to sharing a secret, but instead Booth is the one to reveal a new side of himself.
First of all - sorry for the delay on the new video. I know some of you are just dying to find out what song we have selected for you guys this month. It is one of
jemb 's favourite bands (she has already seen them live twice...she's going to see them again in November - lucky her!) and also mine ever since jemb introduced them to me.
For the NJC of September,
jemb and I have picked Times Like These by the Foo Fighters.
We trust that everyone remembers the rules of engagement, but just to be sure we'll give them once again. All pairings and any possible situations are allowed as long as your one-shot is inspired by the song. One crucial thing we'd like to point out is that we don't accept songfics. Your stories can be posted between September 15th and September 30th. If your entry isn't archived within 5 days, don't hesitate to contact us.
Have fun listening and writing!

After weeks of receiving interesting entries to the NJC of August, it is up to me to close it. Somewhere today jemb will post the new song for the NJC of September so keep an eye out for that. It's an amazing song actually!
So here's my entry for the NJC of August. It's pretty shocking if I say so myself...

Oh, and here's the link to the latest Sunflower Lily Production piece.
Vertigo
Enjoy! :)
Niah and I have been working hard on a new piece of writing for all you Bones fans out there. The second Sunflower Lily Productions piece is called Vertigo and can be reached through the link below. Our writing partnership is coming together perfectly and I hope this shows in our latest offering. This is only the beginning people...Niah and I have big plans for more stories, both one-shots and multi-chapter fics, so stay tuned!

Booth....A new SLP collaboration horrible, stupid but absolutely brilliant.
[and we're being very modest here]

It's the weekend which means its time for
niah1988and I to recommend another couple of stories. We've got a couple of good ones for you to enjoy so settle yourself at your computer and get that finger ready to click.
First up...
Jeffersonian Gossips by EmEx is a recently posted unique story written to answer a question that has probably been on all your minds since watching Stargazer in a Puddle.
Subtext by Native Angel is one of our favourites because it stays true to character and is a wonderful analysis of character thoughts.
And finally, because we loved the first chapter so much and were beyond pleased to read that the story was updated with a second chapter, we'd like to recommend you all read
Wilbur by StarBellySneetch
So go ahead, click the links, read the stories and let the writers know what you thought.

Last week Jemb and I recommended two cute fics. This week we have chosen for two more lengthy stories to give you guys a good read. So grab your bag of crisps/cookies/[insert any other snack you like munching on], a hot choco, sit back, and enjoy these two Bones fanfic gems!
South of Santa Fe by joliesse43
This was written for the May CBPC. It's pretty obvious why she was declared the winner. It gets even better in the second chapter.
PostSnag Swagger by nattysuits
A truly enjoyable one-shot. One-liners are flying everywhere, lots of sexual tension, and the setting of the story is funny beyond words. It had me (and Jemb too, I think) just about rolling around on the floor laughing until our sides hurt.
We hope you enjoy these recs and of course leaving abovementioned authors a review afterwards wouldn't hurt. ;)
After being pretty quiet on the posting front of late, I'm finally back in the groove and have been posting lots of stuff - my NJC entry, a co-fic with Niah1988 and just tonight, a new oneshot . I have a thousand ideas in my head for new stories but I am well aware that I have a couple of unfinished fics out there. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about them - I'm just waiting for my muse to kick in. I want to finish them properly instead of rushing out chapters that aren't what I really want to write just to post and end the story. Call me a perfectionist lol :)
In case you've missed these recently posted stories (because with so many updates each day, stories slip out of view of the first page pretty quickly) the links are below:
Bump and Grind - my NJC entry
Big Guns - my co-fic with Niah
In Case Of Emergency - my new oneshot
Niah and I will be back with more stories soon so stay tuned for updates!

As some of you might know, every Thursday I post a new chapter for Dying to Catch My Breath. It's a story I've been working on for quite some time now -- almost 2,5 months I think. At first I was reluctant to post it because it was my first drama fic and because what basically happens in the story has been done plenty of times before by far better writers than me. But to my big surprise, people actually liked Dying! I'm still in awe over the response I've gotten so far. So whoever has read and reviewed my story and happens across this post, I can't thank you enough. :)
Anyway, since I'm half of Sunflower Lily Productions I thought it appropriate to promote my story here. Because I just updated the 5th chapter and this is the first time I'm posting about Dying here, I'll also give the links to the first 4 chapters.
Title: Dying to Catch My Breath
Summary: Life is just one breath away.
Genre: Drama/Friendship
Rating: T-rated
Chapter 1 --- Chapter 2 --- Chapter 3 --- Chapter 4
Update: Chapter Five - Must Be Dreaming

As co-founder of the NJC, I officially declare the August challenge open!
I have just posted my entry for the challenge and the story can be read using the link below.
Bump and Grind
To recap, the challenge is to write a Bones fic using the song "The Backseat" by Zornik as inspiration. Please do not include lyrics in your story - we want to move away from songfics and focus on the emotions the song creates for you and how it influences your writing :)
The song can be listened to for free using the link below
"The Backseat" by Zornik
Niah and I are both very excited to read what you writers come up with for this challenge. The song is very different to the song we used for the July challenge so it will be interesting to see what ideas come up. We will do our best to make sure every entry is captured in the NJC community on FF.net but please let us know if you think we've missed it.
Have fun writing!

I am incredibly proud to present Sunflower Lily Productions' first baby. It's called Big Guns and it can be reached through the link below. Jemb and I had loads of fun writing together. It's certainly something worth doing again. We hope you guys enjoy our fun one-shot. As for the future...I suggest you keep your eyes open for the next Sunflower Lily Productions collaboration!

Genre: Humor/General
Rating: Fiction Rated: K+
Summary: Some say it's liberating. Others say it's stupid. But the truth is everyone has to do it at least once in their lives.
As avid readers on Fanfiction.net for some time now, Niah and I have come across some amazing stories. But all too often those stories get lost in the crowd. So we have decided to highlight them there, recommending stories we loved, both old and new. You'll find a new link on the community for SLP Recommends - we'd love for you to check these stories out (if you haven't already).
First up this week are two cute fics Niah and I had on our favourite stories lists.
On Sharing A Bed - by love-ends-with-hope
Wilbur - by StarBellySneetch

Before we reveal the next challenge Jemb and I would like to thank everyone who participated in last month's challenge. We were astounded to see how many people responded positively to the NJC. All the entries were surprisingly different even though they were based on the same song. We hope this month's song will give us the same results and maybe attract more people's attention.
Now, without further ado, let's reveal the August challenge. It's a song I fell in love with the second I heard it on the radio and Jemb couldn't stop listening to it when I sent it to her so we thought it would be perfect for the NJC. For this month's challenge we have chosen The Backseat by Zornik. (And yes, I'm proud that they're Belgian, just like
Rules of engagement:
You have to use the song mentioned above as inspiration for your one-shot. You can use any characters, situations, pairings, etc. you chose. The main goal of our challenge is to inspire authors to write something they normally wouldn't write so the sky is the limit. There's only one rule you have to obey -- no song fics. That's another goal of our challenge -- move past song fics and towards well-written one-shots. We feel lyrics often interrupt the flow of a story; therefore we'd like to see them left out.
Entries can be posted on FF.net between August 8th and August 29th. Please put NJC August in the summary so that Jemb and I can easily spot the entries and add them to the NJC community we have set up at FF.net. If your entry isn't archived within five days after it's posted, don't hesitate to drop us a line. Also, if it’s close to the deadline for submissions and you want to let us know you’ve submitted an entry you can post us a note here so we can be sure to read it.
Also make sure you explain the main idea of your story -- how the song inspired you to write it. It doesn't have to be an essay, just a couple of lines to give us some insight in how exactly the challenge song played around with your imagination.
Have fun listening to the song and don't be afraid to let those creative juices flow!

First of all, I would like to say that if there are people out there who still want to have a go at Hooverphonic's lovelyEden , we have extended the deadline. You can write and post your story somewhere this month. However, Jemb and I would already like to present you the newest NJC song. We tried putting it up Saturday evening -- we even had a whole conversation to go with it because I was at her house...in Scotland ...which is like miles and miles away from where I live -- but when we woke up Sunday morning, half of our post had gone! So you can understand we had to take it down.
Anyway, on with the song. In between bickering about why the heck Jemb has got a qwerty keyboard instead of a splendid azerty one (Jemb: Stop fussing about the damn keyboard! Only 99% of the entire world has one!) and drooling at the sight of Booth running down that slope in Aliens in a Spaceship, we managed to pick a song that means the world to us. It's all Jemb and I are about. We are proud to present...
JUST KIDDING!
We are NOT insane. ;) But we do love a good laugh. I mean...lol...shaking baby...what's everyone doing in my livingroom?...ROTFLMAO! Alright, alright, give me a minute to pull myself back together...
Ok, we have stalled enough. Here is the real NJC November song. It's a tune you probably all recognize and it's by a band Brennan once claimed she liked. For this month, we have chosen Teardrop by Massive Attack.
Please click here to see the video. We wanted to post the video just like we did with the Mandy one, but LJ, unfortunately, would NOT cooperate. Grr. :)
Regular posting rules apply. You write a Bones story inspired by the aforementioned song. You can use any characters, situations, pairings, you like. Because Jemb and I will both be rather busy this week, we would like to ask you to wait until November 12th before putting up your story. Also, we would appreciate it it if you put NJC November in your summary so either Jemb or I can properly catalogue it in our NJC C2. We wish you the best of writing luck!
