It's summer and ficathons are abounding all over LJ. I thought it was time we had one of our own!

truthsome_fic comm (with their permission), so here's the guidelines:
What's the deal? Fic about our favorite merc and mechanic in any form is what we're after. Whether it's the classic, romantic Jaylee pairing, a PWP, or a platonic relationship, as long as Jayne and Kaylee are the main characters of the story, feel free to write it for the ficathon! Angst, humor, drama, action/adventure; all are happily accepted.
Length? No requirements or restrictions here! Put together a bunch of drabbles, a short piece, or a good sized chapter. The only thing we ask is that it be new and a standalone fic (not part of an existing series).
Prompts? We're not doing prompts for this ficathon. Although, we would encourage you to think of the following themes if you feel you need a prompt: summer and/or heat
How does this thing work? We'll be using a system where you sign up for a posting week, or deadline, for your submission. By spreading out the due dates, we truly get a whole summer of Jaylee. Also, it gives you some flexibility with your deadline.
The Timetable
Sign-ups: June 13-June 20
Posting Deadlines:
Week 1: July 9th
Week 2: July 16th
Week 3: July 23rd
Week 4: July 30th
Week 5: August 6th
Week 6: August 13th
Absolute deadline each week is midnight on Sunday (basic US East Coast time). We're not going to be rabid sticklers about this. If you're a tiny bit late, we're going to allow it. If you're going to be several hours/days late, feel free to post it, but you won't be eligible for the goodies listed below.
